Aarna's POV:-

A month has passed very quickly. Due to our horoscopes, Dhruv and I have to get married within a month.

Since we both agreed to have a simple marriage, now we are here for our marriage at the same temple where we both met for the first time.

As it was a simple wedding, except for both of our family members and close friends, we didn't invite anyone. All the rituals were done pretty quickly.

Now we both were standing at the same time as a married couple. Never in my dreams, I imagined him to be the one for me but I know, I have a long way to create a place in his heart.

With these thoughts, I turned my head to look at him and saw that he was in deep thoughts. Knowing very well what's running in his mind, I sighed and shook him a little to make him come out of his thoughts.

When he sensed my hold on him, he looked at me and passed me a slight smile to which I smiled at him brightly in an assuring manner. He nodded his head at me.

Meanwhile, we were asked to take blessings from the elders and we did the same. When it was time to take blessings from my mom and dad, I hesitated to touch my mom's feet.

When I was about to touch her feet, she stopped me and I closed my eyes in pain due to the rejection.

But to my surprise, she immediately engulfed me in a hug. I would be lying if I say I wasn't shocked. Before I could hug her back, she immediately retracted herself and left from there hurriedly.

I looked at my dad in confusion and asked him with my eyes about what's happening and he just shrugged his shoulders helplessly with a warm smile.

I laughed a little as my mom is so unpredictable. Even as her husband, sometimes my dad too fails in understanding her.

I just shook my head and went to my girls. They congratulated me after taking me into a bear hug.

It was time for me to take my leave for my in-laws home. So everyone got gathered outside the temple to bid me a farewell.

"Now you are a married girl. So stop doing silly things and take care of yourself." Yuktha Akka told me in a cautioned tone and I just rolled my eyes at her.

"Don't worry about me and concentrate on yourself because my instincts are telling me that you are the next one to get married," I told her with a teasing smile.

"Not going to happen even in your dreams." She scoffed at me.

I left her and hugged Daksha Akka. She gave me a list of dos and don'ts. I agreed helplessly with everything that she had said.

After leaving her, I hugged my Rishu and told her to take care of her after wiping her tears. She nodded at me slowly and asked me to behave well. I glared at her playfully and she smiled at me.

I went to Indra Anna and hugged him. He kissed my forehead and patted my head.

"You grew up so quickly but how good it would be if you have grown some brains too." He said and sighed helplessly as he couldn't do anything about it. I just whacked his arms hardly and glared at him.

"Indra. Behave properly and stop teasing my princess." Saying this pedha nanna hugged me tightly.

"I am going to miss you ra." He told me with a sad smile.

"But I won't miss you," I said and he looked at me with a puzzled expression.

"Because I will visit you regularly like our old times. Nothing is going to change just because I got married." I told him with a smile. Pedhamma and pedha nanna hugged me tightly and blessed me again.

I went to my dad and my little sister. I hugged both of them.

"Swarna. Take care of yourself and take your medications properly. Don't stay up till the late-nights. Call me anytime, if you want to see me. I will come to you immediately and you can also visit me whenever you want. Another thing, you know that I love you..right." I asked her with a smile.

"Now you are behaving like a sensible elder sister and for your information, I love you more." She said with a scoff and I hugged her with a smile.

"Yeah yeah. I agree. You love me more." I said and she smiled at me.

I went to my dad and hugged him so tightly. He patted my head with teary eyes.

"Why are you giving me that pitiful look.? Aren't you the one who asked me to marry him.?" I asked him while pointing at Dhruv who was following me silently.

"Of course. I asked you but it doesn't mean I won't miss you..right." He said while chuckling heartily.

"Dhruv. I am handing you the responsibility of my pride and my life to you. Please take care of her and don't disappoint me." He said. Dhruv nodded at him firmly and gave him an assuring smile.

I looked around for my mother to say her goodbye but she was nowhere to be seen. I sighed and went with Dhruv to get into a car.

After bidding everyone, we started our journey to his house. After seeing us leaving, I saw from the side mirror that everyone was going inside the temple except for my mother who was disappeared till now.

She was looking in our car direction and I was looking at her keenly from the mirror until her figure became smaller and smaller and finally disappeared into the abyss.

'It's true that no mother can hate her own children.' I thought with a bright smile on my face and I heard a chuckle from the person beside me.

"What's so funny.?" I asked Dhruv.

"Nothing. I think you must be the first bride who is bidding farewell to her family happily instead of crying your eyes out." He said and I scoffed at him.

"That's because I am truly happy."

'Truly happy that I finally got a home to call it my own.' I thought and looked out of the window.

It might be weird, seeing me not crying for leaving my family but it doesn't mean that I won't miss them. In fact, I am still thinking about how to live without my girls but it has to happen.

Moreover, It's not like they forcefully made me married against my will or it's not like, this will be the last time that I was going to see them.

So what's the need to cry over it. For me, where we live doesn't matter but what matters the most is the people with whom I am living.

I have to feel comfortable around them. That's enough for me and I can live anywhere even it means to live in the desert. It is okay with me.

We soon reached his house. Damn, it is too beautiful. I just want to stand here and admire its glory all day.

Dhruv nudged me to go inside with him and I followed him with a pout. Athayya asked us to complete some rituals and we have to complete Satyanarayana pooja. So she asked us to get ready for the pooja.

After completing the pooja, we both are asked to take a rest for some time.

Aadhya took me to her room and after going to her room, I slumped on the bed tiredly and drifted into a deep slumber.

In the evening, I was woken up by Daksha Akka. Seeing her in front of me, I was confused a little but she explained the reason why she came here.

"Your Athayya called me here. So that you will feel comfortable. Get up. You have to get ready for your bridal night." She urged me with a teasing smile and It took me a second to register her words. So I immediately sprang up from the bed.

"What did you say just now.?" I asked her.

"Today is your bridal night. So go and freshen up. Till then, I will arrange your saree and accessories." She said and I looked at her nervously.

"Woah. The great Aarna also knows how to feel scared. Well..that's news then." She teased me and I just huffed at her.

"Girl. Don't worry. Trust me. Nothing will happen against your will. So go and freshen up." She instructed me. After nodding at her, I went to the washroom to grab a quick shower.

When I came out, Daksha Akka and Athayya made me wear a saree and dolled me up with simple jewelry. After that, Athayya handed me a glass filled with milk and I just cringed at the sight of the milk itself.

Seeing my face, they both smiled at me and asked me to bear with it for today. I nodded at them reluctantly and went towards his room.

After going inside, I glanced around the room in a scrutinizing manner. I scrunched my nose when I saw the wall paints are a mix of grey and ivory. It's not giving a homely feeling at all instead it's portraying cold vibes.

Suddenly I heard a throat clearing of someone and saw that Dhruv was standing behind me. So I immediately made a way for him to enter inside.

After coming inside, he sat on the bed awkwardly and I handed him the milk meekly. He took it and about to drink the whole glass but I stopped him in the middle and drank the remaining milk reluctantly.

"Is someone so desperate to have the same milk I had, that they are even snatching it from me.?" He asked me and I rolled my eyes at his lack of knowledge.

"Dude. Nobody is dying to have it..okay. If you don't know, it is s ritual to share the milk. What an ignorant man." I sighed and asked him about the washroom.

When he told me the way, I went inside and changed into the comfy nightwear.

By the time, I came outside, Dhruv too got changed into a T-shirt and tracks. He was standing on the balcony while gazing at the stars. When he heard the door opening, he came inside and looked at me.

I too matched his gaze and we both glanced at the bed. After looking at each other for a second, we both rushed to the bed to occupy it but due to his height, he reached it first and threw a pillow at me.

"Sleep on the couch. It's pretty big for your height. So it won't be a problem." Saying this, he tucked himself with the blanket and I was boiling with anger at this man's audacity.

"What kind of gentleman are you.? How can you let your wife sleep on the couch? You go and sleep there. I am not used to sleeping on the couch." exaggeratedly asked him.

"Sorry. If you think like that because I never considered myself as a gentleman in the first place. If you can't sleep there, then that's your problem. Deal with it yourself." He said with an annoying smirk playing on his face.

I wanted to slap that annoyingly handsome face of him. After remembering something, I passed him a sweet smile and grabbed my phone from my luggage bag.

"I am asking you for the last time. Are you not going to give me the bed.?" I asked him while raising my eyebrows at him.

"It's final. I won't change my decision." He said this while trying to cover his face with the duvet but stopped when he saw me calling someone.

"I am going to call Athayya and tell her about your wonderful deeds. Let's see whether you will still be arrogant by then." Saying this, I kept the phone to my ear but it got snatched by him immediately, making me startled.

"God..how come you are so fast and why didn't I notice your moments at all.?" I asked him in surprise because when I kept the phone to my ear, he was still lying on the bed.

"Only people with brains will understand it." He said while ending the call on my phone and kept it in his pocket.

"Oiiii...give me my phone," I exclaimed and tried to keep my hand in his pocket to grab my phone but he dodged me.

"I will give it to you tomorrow. For now, talk about the sleeping setting. I can't sleep on the couch as it won't fit my height." He said exaggeratingly in a childlike manner. I smiled at his antics and shook my head.

"Okay then. Let's call it a truce. I decided to go a little easy on you today. " Saying this, I went to the bed and made a pillow wall in the middle of the bed.

"Is it okay now.? This is my side and that's your side. And before that, let me set some ground rules.

Rule no 1: we both are not allowed to cross that wall.

Rule no 2: No touching or hugging is allowed in the sleep.

Rule no 3: Most importantly, you are not allowed to snore." I told him and when he heard the third rule, he scoffed at me and brushed past me to make his way to the bed.

"Heyy stop. I am not finished yet." I held his arm and he looked at me annoyingly.

"Geez..just get over with it. I am feeling so sleepy," he said with an irritated frown on his face.

"Do you eat chocolates.?" I asked him and immediately his eyes shot open widely.

"That..how. I mean I don't eat them." He said while stammering a little and I looked at him skeptically.

"Why are you shuttering.? Don't tell me that you are scared to admit the fact that you eat them secretly in your room," I asked him with a teasing look on my face.

"Why would I be scared? Moreover, I don't eat them." He said and I scoffed at him.

"Liar liar pants on fire. Liar liar pants on fire...." I kept on singing to annoy him more.

"Will you just shut up.? You are so irritating." I smiled at him brightly and went near him.

"Okay. But answer this question. Do you like black coffee.? Before you could ask how I know about it, let me tell you. Black coffee is the only thing that suits best for a bitter and boring person like you." I said to him with an annoying smile.

"Who is a boring person.? You just don't know me yet." He retorted immediately.

"Okay. My bad. I have my whole life to know about you. So tell me. Do you drink black coffee.?" After hearing my words, he scoffed at me but anyways nodded his head in agreement.

"That's good. Let's make a deal then." I said while clapping my hands.

"What's that.?" He asked me.

"If anyone of us both violates the rules that I have set, then we have to buy their favorites the next day. In my case, I will buy you or make you a black coffee and you have to buy me chocolates or ice cream if you fail in fulfilling the rules. How is it??" I asked him while wriggling my eyebrows proudly at him. He just gave me a light smack on my head and slept on his side on the bed.

"Hey! You can't sleep without answering me." I asked him and he just mumbled an okay while dozing off.

I just shook my head and went to my side. After laying there, I looked at him over the pillows.

"Though I love chocolates and ice cream, you better keep your word," I warned his sleeping figure while hugging the duvet closely to my chest. What I failed to notice was, hearing my words, a small smile boomed on his face.
