Sleepy Slip-Ups
Michael laid down in his bed, looking awkwardly at the ceiling with a flushed up face. Jeremy and him hadn't had an actual sleepover in years and now, thanks to Mr.Heere's absence for a week due to some business he had to take care of, Jeremy was here. He couldn't help but feel bad for the guy, Jeremy didn't need to sleepover but he wanted to, he couldn't blame him either, how was he supposed to sleep when his mom had left him and now this? Michael was sure Mr.Heere was coming back but Jeremy couldn't help but wonder, so he'd asked to come sleepover and Michael happily obliged. He turned over to look at Jeremy, smiling as the boy soundly slept- hogging the entire comforter at the bottom of his feet, not even using it. However, Michael didn't have the heart to move it no matter how cold he was.
Normally, this wouldn't be awkward- well, maybe a little since they were in Highschool, but the fact was that Jeremy was Michael's best friend, and Michael was gay as all of hell. Gay for Jeremy none the less. So that might have added just a bit of awkwardness there as they shared a bed. Thus the reason Michael knew he'd never get a second of sleep with this boy around, let alone a week worth of sleep- or until Jeremy's dad got back...but what if he didn't? Oh geez what if Jeremy had to stay her for more than a week- or a month- or a year.
Michael tried to not feel just a bit giddy about that idea but think of it in perspective- His best-friend, his crush, living with him for a year... he'd never be able to confess if that became the case, after all, if he did confess and was turned down then well, isn't that just a fine pickle there, Jeremy would have to share sleeping arrangements with someone he knew liked him. Who was Michael kidding though? Jeremy was as straight as his slender body-form and even if he did realize he wasn't straight one day, most people don't fall in love with their best friends after twelve years of just friendship. It was different for Michael however, he'd began liking Jeremy towards the beginning years of their friendship and had always sort of seen him as just a bit more than a friend...and so Highschool comes rolling around and wow, this kid is way more than a friend.
Michael sighed, grinning as Jeremy's nose twitched at the sudden breath brushing against his face, he began to stir and Michael pursed his lips together to stay silent, not wanting them both to be up all night and actually having to socialize when they were both probably sleep-drunk, Michael never made good decisions when he was sleep-drunk and neither did Jeremy. Though he supposed it would be more of an issue for Jeremy as his mind had actually been boggled by sleep and Michael was just off from exhaustion of sleep-deprive. He smiled as Jeremy began to worm closer to him. Then his smile turned to a look of worry and surprise as Jeremy continued to inch closer, until he was pressed up against Michael.
Michael felt his entire body, from head to the tips of his toes, heat up with the growling sensation of blush.
Jeremy sighed contently as he nuzzled his way into Michael's arms, Michael gladly, while begrudgingly, holding the boy, beginning to close his eyes in final sleep when Jeremy began to speak.
"Michaelove..."Jeremy's voice came out as a breathy, sleepy whisper.
Michael froze, tensing up at the murmur....Michaelove...Michael...ove...Michael...Michael Love... Michael couldn't help but let out a small, barely audible, squeak at Jeremy's words. His mind raced as he looked down at the sleeping, smiling boy, He-He's crazy...he's tired...he's not thinking straight...surely he...no...no...go away gay thoughts... Michael shook his head slightly, disrupting Jeremy in his sleep.
Jeremy let out a small whimper, pressing his cheek to Michael's neck, not helping the flustered boy in any way.
"H-Hey Jer..."Michael knew he'd regret the actions he was taking...but maybe Jeremy wouldn't remember this in the morning if he did it quickly while he was still half asleep...
"Mrm..." Jeremy murmured groggily.
Michael felt his heart twist as he made his bold move, "Do you love me?" He whispered to the boy. Maybe I won't even get an answer, maybe, hopefully, he'll fall back asleep and then I can forget about this and-
"Michael...? Yeah..." Jeremy giggled sleepily, "Fr...years..." His words slurred together with lethargy.
"You do...?" Michael's voice came out squeaky.
"Mhm...I love ya'...a lot..." Jeremy yawned, "Nowl etm ee sleep..." He slurred before burying his face in the crook of Michael's neck.
Michael knew he'd be able to sleep now, not because of the confirmation, no, this was barely even confirmation- just a sleep-crazed teen, but because just at those words, he felt like feinting.

Jeremy woke up with a small stretch, though something blocked him from stretching hid arms. He furred his brow in confusion and blinked the sleep out and away from his eyes, his vision slowly focusing on the sleeping face of Michael. Jeremy's eyes widened as he realized he had his arms and legs wrapped around the boy in his previous sleep, he let out a squeak as his face grew to unimaginable shades of red and he rolled away from the now waking Michael. Jeremy covered his face with his hands, hoping and praying that Michael hadn't seen or felt that Jeremy had been hugging him like a koala would. His heart raced as he heard a small chuckle come from Michael.
"It's okay Jer, it's not like you can hide from your own actions." Michael shook his head as he sat up on the bedframe and stretched his arms up, shaking himself awake.
Jeremy just responded with a small squeak and shrunk deeper into the covers, glancing over at Michael who had a contemplating look on his face, Jeremy blinked in confusion, "Wh-what's wrong?" His voice cracked, of course it did.
Michael sighed, "Just debating weather or not to tell you what you did last night."
Jeremy froze, Jesus what did I do- did I say something stupid? Did I do something stupid..?Jeremy let out a small murmur of discontentment, "P-please t-tell me..." His voice was whispery, he didn't even know if he actually did want to know what had happened, as Michael's face seemed a mixture of confusion and amusement, "W-Well?" He prompted when Michael didn't answer.
"Well..." A grin began to grow on Michael's face, "You said you loved me," he leaned forward towards Jeremy, "For years."
Jeremy was almost entirely positive that his heart was going to burst right here and right now, he almost wished it would, that way he wouldn't have to deal with his own actions, "I-I uh- it I-" Jeremy stuttered.
Michael tried his best to keep quiet.
"...Why would you c-care- b-best friends a-always love each other?" Jeremy blinked up at Michael, blinking in confusion as he saw the boy's smile falter for a moment.
"Oh...yeah duh of course, that makes sense." Michael began getting up, "I'm going to go get some breakf-" He paused when he felt Jeremy grab his wrist.
"Y-you sounded a bit excited there Michael..." Jeremy tried to keep an amused look on his face, incase things went south he could blame it on and as a joke, "D-do you love me?"
Michael paused, "And if I did ?" he was too nervous to look back at Jeremy, he also didn't want the other to see his reddening facial features.
"...Answer the question..." Jeremy murmured.
Michael tensed, Well...there's no getting out of here without lying...and if I do that- blip, there go my chances with him...what chances... Michael sighed, turning towards Jeremy, "...Er...Jeremy...you've been my best friend for years." He grinned.
"You're dodging the question." Jeremy's face dropped.
"...D-define, love, exactly?"
"Do you have romantic...er...and or...sexual feelings...for...me?" Jeremy asked awkwardly, blush dusting over his face once again."
"..." Michael opened his mouth to answer but was afraid of what he would say.
"Do you not love me?"
"O-Of course I love you!" Michael blurted out. Yep. He was right to be afraid of what he might say, he winced as he waited for a response.
Jeremy could no longer hide his smile of pure joy, "A-alright then. I love you too." He giggled.
Michael's heart swelled with joy, "R-really?" Michael's voice squeaked.
"Mhm." Jeremy shrank down a bit more as he felt his limbs grow weak.
Michael was silent for a moment, "L-let's talk about this over breakfast." He smiled lovingly at Jeremy.
"I-I don't think I can move." Jeremy chuckled, then yelping in surprise as Michael scooped him up a moment later, "Wh-what?" He squeaked.
Michael hoisted Jeremy up bridal-style, "Well, if you can't move, I better carry you then, huh?" Michael giggled with a deepening red expression.
Jeremy just squeaked once again and wrapping his arms around Michael, burying his face in the other's chest while he made his way out of the room.
"A-And Michael." Jeremy murmured.
"Yeah, bud?" Michael huffed as he continued, carefully picking his way down the stairs.
"I-I really, honestly, do love you." Jeremy paused before pressing a kiss to Michael's cheek.
Michael let out a shrill squeak.
They both began falling the rest of the way down stairs.
