Guardian Angel| AU
Not everyone receives a guardian angel...no...only those who are truly deserving and in need of one, will receive one,...
Michael floated above Jeremy's head, swimming through the air casually as he follow the boy through his regular routine.
Jeremy continued down the hallway of his high-school, unaware of the presence above him.
Michael had been watching over Jeremy since his mother left, sent down to protect and defend the boy. As per usual, each guardian angel was custom made for their client. For Michael this meant, being the same age as Jeremy, loving the same retro-geek merchandise as Jeremy, and of course, being as gay as Jeremy...maybe even a little more.
So far, Jeremy had gotten through most of high-school without being bullied all too much. Michael didn't consider Rich as a serious threat, but sometimes he's trip the guy in the hallway if he came across the opportunity. And yes, he was able to do that. Michael was able to take a physical form, however, only Jeremy was capable of seeing that physical form if he did do so, to everyone else it was just the wind- however, everyone else was still capable of feeling Michael, for example, when Michael trips Rich, Rich can feel something form under his legs that cause him to trip but he's unable to see Michael's foot. However, Michael isn't supposed to show his form to Jeremy, so he can only physically form when Jeremy was unaware, as Jeremy still had to be in a few feet radius for him to physically form, like a homing beacon. Beacon. Yeah. That was a good word, Jeremy was his light.
Michael kicked his feet back and forth in the air to flutter forward, hovering over Jeremy as he opened his locker.
"Shit...was History homework due Thursday or Friday..." Jeremy muttered a curse.
Michael grinned, this was why he was here, he snapped and Jeremy suddenly shook his head.
"Ah, yeah! Friday- thank god, now I can procrastinate."
Michael sighed, "Yeah..." He muttered, Jeremy unable to hear him, however, flying circles around Jeremy as they boy slammed the locker shut after grabbing some books and binders and heading towards the exit of school.
Jeremy whistled a tune to himself, Michael singing along, "Remember that time at Disneyland? I ate that giant turkey leg!" Michael paused when he felt a growing sense of trouble, he shook his head out of pull of the song, looking forward to see Rich approaching, a few guys following behind him, well-built he might add. Michael looked down at Jeremy, feeling his own worry and fear reflected in the scrawny boy.
"H-Hey, R-Rich." Jeremy smiled sheepishly at Rich.
Rich snorted in disgust, "Well look who's Heere." Rich grinned, getting a few chuckles from the guys behind him.
"F-Fine day, h-huh?" Jeremy gripped the straps of his backpack.
Rich grabbed one of the straps and pulled Jeremy down, turning the boy around to scribbled the letters B-O-Y-F on it, then pushing Jeremy to the ground, "Wash that off and you're dead." He hissed.
Jeremy swallowed nervously.
"Though honestly I'd be surprised if you survived this." Rich shrugged, pointed his thumbs back at the guys behind him and then to Jeremy.
Jeremy let out a squeak before a fist hit him square in the jaw, and then the side, and then the leg, the hits continued.
Michael watched wide eyes, throwing punches at the guys best his could, but only his invisible strength could go so far. Michael looked down at himself as he watched his body slowly slowly disappearing as Jeremy lost air in his lungs. Oh dear god he's going to die if this continues. Michael prances on his feet a bit, groaning in debation before leaping forward, taking a physical form and pouncing forward, swinging a blow to one of the guy's chins and knocking him back.
The other simply released his grip from Jeremy in shock, looking over at the winged boy.
Michael took this as an opportunity and grabbed Jeremy by the collar of his jean-jacket, "Hold on tight!" He grinned as he propelled himself forward, pushing his wings as hard as he could to go as fast as possible, bursting through the entrance of the school as he flew into the sky, instantly changing into his invisible form as to not attract attention.
Jeremy let out a small gasp as he was floating in the air, he could feel Michael around him but saw nothing...nothing except- that he was thousands of feet above ground. Jeremy let out a yip and clung tighter around the unseen boy, "I-I'm gonna' die." He cried through a swollen mouth, "The d-devil himself has taken me!"
Michael sighed, slowly floating down Jeremy's street and landing at his house, revealing himself as his physical-form and holding Jeremy bridal-style, "Actually, it's quite the opposite from devil.
Jeremy furred his brow in confusion, wincing as he squinted through a black eye to take in Michael's image, he was a pretty cute boy...Shit, no stop... Though one thing caught his eye...he nearly leap out of Michael's arms when he saw the wings that were fluttering behind the boy, letting out a small yelp of surprise.
"Yeah..." Michael sighed, "Come on, let's get you inside." Michael headed for the door.
"U-Uh...y-you can put me down now." Jeremy looked the other way, a blushing mess.
Michael giggled, setting him down, "You're pretty cute yourself." Michael murmured as he walked past Jeremy towards the entrance of the house.
"Y-You can read my thoughts?" Jeremy squeaked, following shakily behind him.
"I'm your guardian angel, of course I can read your thoughts."
Jeremy felt his shoulders sag, his face turning a deeper crimson, "Greeat..." He muttered, ambling through the door as Michael held it open for him, "I-Isn't my dad going to freak when he sees you?"
Michael frowned, "Aren't I in my invisible form?"
Jeremy shook his head, "No...I can see yo-"
"There's my boy!" Mr.Heere chuckled as Jeremy entered.
"D-Dad! P-put some pants on!" Jeremy grumbled.
Mr.Heere walked towards Jeremy, Michael looking absolutely horrified, but then...Mr.Heere simply walked directly through Michael, as if he were transparent, wrapping his arms around Jeremy in a bear hug before releasing him.
Jeremy took a step towards Michael, holding out his hand for the boy, though all Mr.Heere saw was Jeremy reaching for something and making a fist, "I-I'm going to go play some video games..." He murmured, racing upstairs before Mr.Heere could respond, he simply just shook his head dismissingly.
Jeremy ran up to his room, pulling Michael with him, and slamming the door behind them. He then proceeded towards his bed and flopped down into a sitting position, his legs hanging off the edge of the bed as he examined Michael with a curious frown.
Michael leapt forward and flopped down along with Jeremy, "You've got a comfy bed!" He sighed, never having felt a plush surface beneath him before.
"Thanks..." Jeremy murmured absently as he tried to process everything, then he shook his head, "Wait- how come my dad didn't ask about my facial wounds?" Jeremy then paused, "And how come I don't feel them!?"
"I healed them." Michael shrugged simply.
"Y-you what?" Jeremy gaped.
"I healed them." Michael sat up beside Jeremy.
"H-How!?" Jeremy's eyes widened at Michael.
"Uh...I'm a guardian angel...that's my soul purpose in life, to guard and protect you- it's in the prefix Jeremy, honestly." Michael shook his head as if this was normal.
"Wh-what the hell...- wait,"
"Stop telling me to wait, I'm not a dog." Michael teased.
Jeremy sighed, "You called me Jeremy-"
"Yeah?"
"So, what's your name?" Jeremy blinked.
"Michael Mell, at your service!" Michael held out his hand.
Jeremy began to extend his hand, pausing a moment.
Michael sighed, "I'm not going to bite." He shook his head.
"R-right." Jeremy nodded, shaking Michael's hand, "Jeremy Heere."
"Yeah, I get that your last name is an adverb." Michael winked.
Jeremy's cheeks flushed up, "Sh-Shut up! Enough people tease me about it, I don't need my angel doing it too..." Jeremy crossed his arms.
"Hm. Your Angel." Michael raised an eyebrow, "I kinda' like the ring of that."
Jeremy's face turned to an even darker shade of red, "Wh-whatever..." His voice was squeaky.
Michael giggled, "Alright well, what now?"
"How much do you know about me?" Jeremy blinked, turning to sit criss-cross from Michael, Michel doing the same with Jeremy.
"Well, I was custom made for you-"
"Like a machine?"
Michael's face dropped, "No. I am indeed not a machine."
"S-sorry, I didn't mean to offend you." Jeremy twiddled his thumbs guiltily.
Michael shook his head, "It's fine, it's fine." He began again, "Anyway, I know you like Pac-Man, as I do, " Michael grinned as he pointed to the Pac-Man patch on his arm.
Jeremy gasped, scooting forward so he could examine the patch.
Michael glanced away, trying his best to ignore the fact that their legs were brushing against each other...little did he know, Jeremy was attempting the same thing.
"I've looked everywhere for an original Pac-Man patch! Amazon used to have one but it ran out of stalk." Jeremy frowned.
Michael paused a moment before brushing Jeremy's hand away from the patch, "Hold on a moment." He said.
Jeremy snatched his hand away, afraid he hadn't been supposed to touch Michael.
There was the sound of something ripping before Michael grabbed Jeremy's hand, "Heere you go." He smiled.
Jeremy grumbled at the pun, but then stopped when he saw that Michael had put the patch in his hand, "Y-You're giving it to me?" He squealed.
Michael nodded, "It's the least I can do for you letting me into your house and home."
"You mean, you just now inviting yourself?"
"Well, it would be rude to abandon your guardian angel now wouldn't it?"
Jeremy giggled, "I suppose so."
Michael then leapt to his feet, "Can we jump on the bed now, please? I've always wanted to do that!" He shrilled.
Jeremy shook his head with a chuckle, "Sure, why not." He staggered to his feet, trying to keep balance on the bouncy surface.
Michael then began bouncing up and down, letting out little squeals of joy and laughter.
Jeremy couldn't help but laugh along as he joined in, his expression full of happiness as he saw the look of sheer pleasure on Michael's face.
"This is way better than being in the air with my wings! They're totally limp and it still feels like I'm flying!" Michael gasped excitedly.
"I wish I could fly with my wings." Jeremy continued to bounce.
"I wonder what would happen if I..." Michael leapt up and spread his wings out, flying circles around the room before diving in for a cannonball bounce on the bed.
Jeremy yelped as the impact caused him to fly upwards, flailing temporarily in the air, "I-I'm flying-" "I-I'M FALLING!" He felt himself loose his balance as soon as he hit the bed, beginning to fall backwards, wincing as he braced himself for impact, however, he was soon engulfed in a...hug...? When he opened his eyes he saw that Michael had formed a protective shield around him with his wings, absorbing the shock of the fall as they hit the ground.
Jeremy's eyes widened as he saw slight pain in Michael's eyes, "A-Are you alright?"
Michael winced, "Well...I may not be fully alive...but...I sure as hell can still feel hurt..." He kept his wings locked around Jeremy nonetheless.
Jeremy paused a moment before hugging Michael, burying his face in the boy's chest.
Michael let out a little gasp, slightly flinching.
Jeremy nuzzled him for a little before feeling something damp fall onto his cheek, he looked up to see a fresh wave of tears begin to slowly drop from Michael's face, "Wh-what's wrong?" Jeremy was afraid he'd accidently hurt Michael.
"N-No, it's just that...I-I've never been hugged before."
