Date - Arson Bros
P.O.V: Third Person Omniscient
Trigger Warnings: Homophobia, 'Love, Simon' Spoilers
Rich and Jake had been texting for almost an hour, and neither of them could decide on where their next date would be. Rich had said no to the mall because of all the homophobes hung out there, and Jake had declared that 'chillin' at home' doesn't count as a date.
FlamingBisexual: UGHH!! This is impossible.
Jake smiled to himself as he imagined his lispy boi saying that out loud.
Lamppost_But_With_Sportz: What about the park? There won't be too many people but it's still public?
FlamingBisexual:(is typing)
Rich though about this for a moment, and figured Jake's logic made sense.
FlamingBisexual: Sounds good, Jakey. Should I meet you there or are you picking me up?
Lamppost_But_With_Sportz: I'll pick u up, cutie <3
Rich blushed When he read this and replied:
FlamingBisexual: k. luv u!
Lamppost_But_With_Sportz: luv u more!
FlamingBisexual: Not possible UwU
Lamppost_But_With_Sportz: Okay, you win, Richie. See ya in a bit!
Jake put down his phone and pulled on his Letterman Jacket. He walked downstairs grabbing his keys off the table and went out the door to his car.
Meanwhile, Rich was still in his pajamas, so he changed into some black jeans, a blank white t-shirt, and a flannel with all the buttons undone. He went to the mirror on the back of his door and spiked his hair up in the front. A car beeped outside signaling that Jake had arrived. He walked down the hall to the front door and opened it.
"Hey, babe!" Jake exclaimed running up to Rich, picking him up by the waist and spinning him, earning a giggle from the smaller boy. Jake set him down and asked, "Ready to go?"
"Of courthe." Rich replied. As he walked to Jake's car he scanned to road, making sure his father wasn't coming back yet. Fortunately, he wasn't. The two got in the care and they were off.

Jake found a parking spot near the park and got out of the car. He ran around to the other side of the car and opened Rich's door for him. "Here you are, my good sir," he said in a fancy accent.
"Oh, why thank you." Rich replied, also using a fancy voice.
Hearing him talk was a relief to Jake since Rich was silent the entire ride there. He took his hand in his own and led him to a path the wound through and around the entire park.
They talked for a while about food and memes and Sportz™, until a dude listening to music saw them and stopped, staring at them.
"Ew, no one wants to see that." he remarked.
Jake put his arm around Rich. "See what?" he snapped back.
The dude took out his earbuds. "Do I need to be specific? Okay. No one wants to see two fags in the middle of a peaceful park!"
Rich tensed up at the 'f-slur', and Jake noticed. He unwrapped his arm from him and stepped towards the dude, who stepped back.
Lispy boi didn't want a fight to break out but he was too nervous to do or say anything.
"The only person disturbing the peace here is you and your homophobic slurs." Jake replied.
"Oh, I'm breaking the peace? There's children here!" the dude said.
"Don't you dare bring children into this! Me and my boyfriend are just trying to enjoy a walk in the park." Jake was starting to get worked up. He didn't want to fight. But if he had to... he would.
The dude smirked. "That fag back there is your boyfriend?" he asked stepping towards Rich.
Jake stepped in the way of the homophobe and saw the look on Rich's face: a mix of shock and fear.
The dude pushed Jake aside and took another slow step towards Rich. "You don't like when I say that, do you? Wanna know why? It's because you're a useless, pathetic faggot that no one needs."
Rich flinched once again and was on the verge of tears. "I-I'm not a-a utheleth, p-" he broke down. Tears trickled down his pace as he quietly sobbed.
Jake pushed the dude away. "Take your idiotic homphobia somewhere else, please," He wrapped his arm around Rich and walked away with him.
They found an empty bench and sat down, Rich leaning on Jake's shoulder. The taller boy was gently tracing Rich's jawline with his thumb, occasionally wiping away a tear of two. He leaned down and whispered, "Is this why you didn't want to go somewhere public?" Rich nodded in response. "Richie?" Rich turned to face Jake. "You know none of those things he said were true...right?"
Rich was silent. He was suddenly very interested in an ant colony that was marching along the gravel path that was in front of the bench. After a while he spoke up, "It ith true."
"What! Richie!" Jake was shocked. "Rich look at me." He held the smaller boy's chin in his hand tracing little circles onto his cheek with his thumb. "You are not useless. You are not pathetic. And most of all, you are not an f-slur. You are my adorable," Jake kissed Rich's cheek. "Sweet," Another kiss. "Smol," A kiss on the top of Rich's head. "Boyfriend." Jake kissed Rich softly on the lips and pulled away. "I will never think any less." he smiled and gazed into his boyfriend's beautiful eyes.
Rich by now was blushing profusely. "I love you, Jakey. Thank you." He said. "Can we um... can we jutht lithen to muthic?" he asked.
"Of course." Jake said pulling out his earbuds and phone. He tapped a playlist on Spotify (not sponsored please don't sue me)
A song called Kaboom came on, and Rich loved the sound of the singer's voice. He thought it sounded strangely like Michael for some reason.
Minutes later and Jake heard the beginning of a sad tune and skipped it immediately. He didn't feel like breaking the fourth wall right now.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Time Skip (again)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The playlist ended after about half an hour and Rich had fallen asleep. Jake smiled down at him but eventually grew bored and whispered, "Ready to go?"
Rich's eyes fluttered open and he said, "Yup," he stood up pretty quickly and Jake had the feeling that he wasn't really asleep.
The two walked hand in hand to the car and listened to the radio, but could only get a few songs in since Jake's house was fairly close to the park.
Jake pulled into his driveway and got out, Rich following behind to the front door.
Rich checked the time and realized it was later than he thought. "Yo I gotta go," he told Jake.
"Or you could sleep over? It's only Saturday." The tol boi suggested.
Rich shrugged at the idea and walked to the bathroom. Once there he took off his t-shirt and buttoned all but the top three buttons on his flannel. He then slid off his jeans and left his boxers on. This is usually what he wore to bed after he wore his flannel. He liked the soft feeling of it against his chest. He emerged from the bathroom to see Jake browsing Netflix (again, please don't sue me) so he plopped down beside him.
Jake decided on a movie called 'Love, Simon' thinking he may have read a book about it once.
Almost an hour later and Rich and Jake were watching the end credits start to scroll onto the screen Rich had moved to Jake's lap about half an hour in.
"Hey gueth what?" Rich asked Jake, a mischievous twinkle on his eye.
Jake rolled his eyes, "What?"
"We thould do what Bram and Thimon did."Rich replied.
"What? Act in a beautifully gay movie?"
Rich giggled. "No, well, yeth but not what I wath thinking.
"So then what were you thinking?" Jake asked smiling.
"We thould kith like they did! But like, not on a ferrith wheel." Rich smiled back at Jake.
"Oh, uh, well okay," Jake said blushing. "I'm always up for kissing my adorable boyfriend."
Rich blushed as well, turning so that he could wrap his legs around Jake's waist, and his arms around his neck. They were so close that Rich could feel Jake's warm breath on his forehead. He closed the gap between them and smiled into the kiss.
Jake began to snake his arms around Rich's waist while tilting his head for a better angle.
Moments later Rich felt Jake's hands slide under his shirt and across his back making him shudder.
Suddenly, the front door burst open and Jake's younger brother, David, a freshman, ran in slamming the door behind him. He looked at them and grinned. "Duuudes! Get a room!" he ran into the kitchen to get a snack. He was accepting, but also annoying.
Jake pulled his lips away from Rich's and his hands out from under the latter's shirt and called, "Great job killing the mood, bro!" he heard David's evil laugh as a response as he walked back into the living room chomping on an apple. "Where've you been anyways?" Jake asked.
"Uh, out." David replied.
"Out? Like out where?" Jake was getting into protective brother mode.
"Ughhhhh! I was at a party, mom!" David joked. "Yes the parents were there. No, there wasn't any alcohol. Can I go to my room? Thanks." He took a bite of his apple and went upstairs.
Rich yawned and said, "Okay, so that happened. We should probably go to bed too." he got out of Jake's lap and stood up.
Jake nodded. "Yeah, you're right." he stood up and stretched, walking to the stairs with Rich following behind. He decided to sleep in a shirt and boxers like Rich so they could both get to sleep quicker. The two of them crawled onto the bed and under the covers.
Rich was facing Jake and absentmindedly played with his floofy hair while Jake gazed into his eyes lovingly. The two gays-i mean guys (damn auto correct) fell asleep wrapped in each others arms.
