"So, uh, Christine?" Jeremy asked, breaking the silence. "How's it going with Jake?"

Christine but her lip, focusing on the ground. "You're, Like, uh, you know... over me, right?"

"Yes! Yeah, uh, yeah, no doubt." Jeremy cleared his throat, his face flushing. "Sorry, that was more enthusiastic than I wanted it to be. But uh, yeah. I have Micah."

Jeremy shifted on his bed, watching Christine play with a pencil from his desk. "But seriously. I want to hear about Jake." Jeremy paused before adding, "Because I'm your friend. I'm not trying to steal you or anything. I support you guys."

Christine smiled, gently putting down the pencil in her hands. "What do you want to know?" She asked, and both her and Jeremy ignored her constant motion in the chair.

"I don't know, uh, what he does that's cute, what he treats you like, if you see any red flags..." In an overly flamboyant voice, Jeremy finished his sentence. "Just spill the tea sis."

Christine chuckled, rocking back and forth. "Are you sure?"

"Yes! Christine, I want to be your friend. I know... we've been through rough spots. But I still want to be your friend."

"Okay, okay, uh, okay."

"Oh no, you're starting to sound like me."

Christine rolled her eyes, smiling a bit. "Well, he joined theatre for me, but I know you already know that."

"Yes." Jeremy edged himself closer to Christine, smiling wide. "Go on."

"Also, he doesn't like, get upset when I get distracted or tell the same story over and over again and he listens and still like, engages! He also uh, doesn't like, get upset if I have to move around a lot or whatever. Or my brain uh, you know. Buzzes!"

"Yeah, I feel. That's really good Christine. I'm glad he's like that."

"Me too." Christine said quietly. "I've always kinda been... scared I'm... too much. Or not enough. Just... not good enough. But Jake... he makes me feel good. He makes me happy."

"And I'm so glad he does, Christine." Jeremy said, with a soft smile on his face. "I'm honestly so glad."
