Also low key I had no idea how to do your idea fully so I kinda changed it up a bit, sorry

"Hey, Ev, can I drive? I need to... tell you something."

"I mean, yeah, of course, but I uh, I kinda wanted to take you to somewhere, somewhere that's uh, green and stuff, and uh, I don't want to spoil it, so." Evan smiled, not fully understanding Connors edge.

"No, I uh. I'm gonna drive." Connor put his hands on the car door, but Evan put his on top.

"But... But I want to drive. I want to drive you somewhere, Connor. Please?" Evan asked, knowing that if he asked, Connor wouldn't say no.

"Evan, this is important. I'm gonna drive, and we are gonna go where I want to go."

Evan stood stunned, confused and annoyed. "You, you always get to pick date spots. Let me pick them for once! I spent a while on this one, and-"

"It's not a date spot, Evan."

"Oh." Oh. He's breaking up with me. "Right. That's wha you're doing. Uh, well, I'd rather you do it here so I at least know how to uh, get home, you know?" Evan nervously chuckled, and he ignored a falling tear. "Or if you're gonna drive me home, that's fine. That's, that's fine."

"What are you talking about Evan?" Why would he want me to propose close to his house?

"Just, uh, break up with me now, please. I don't want to, to uh, to drag, I don't want to drag, I don't-" Evan stuttered out, not being able to control his teary floodgate.

"Oh, no, Evan, baby," Connor mumbled, pulling Evan close go his chest. "I'm not gonna... I wasn't about to... no baby." He gently moved Evan away a bit, so he could get the box out of his pocket and kneel on the floor. "I, uh, surprise?"

Evan stood there, stunned for a moment before he smacked Connors shoulder. "You bastard!"

Connor nervously chuckled, holding the box out warily. "I was uh, gonna do this somewhere else, but I mean, nows as good of a time as ever. Evan Hansen, will you marry me?"

"I uh, I mean, of course, of course I'm gonna day yes. You dick."
