Tree Bros- DIEMAS pt2
"Evan."
Evan looked up, than instantly averted eye contact with the tall boy.
"Evan. Look at me."
Evan instantly looked up, and almost let out a squeak when he saw Connors hands move. He was sloppy in his signs, but he managed to get his point across. "Can I sit here?"
Evans eyes widened, and he rapidly nodded his head. Connor chuckled and sat across from him, setting his backpack down. "How is..."
Connor clearly couldn't find the word he wanted to sign, so Evan reached into his bag, shakily pulling out a notepad. He handed it to Connor before frantically searching his backpack for a pen, Connor pretending not to noice how shaky Evans hands were.
"Thanks." Connors voice was gruff, and it made Evan shrink back. Noticing this, Connor tried to make his voice lighter. "I uh, I mean. Thank you."
Evan nodded his head, giving Connor a weak smile. Connor smiled back before clicking the pen, and scribbling onto the notebook. When he was done, he turned it so Evan could see.
How was your day?
Evan blinked, confused. He pointed to himself, as if asking Connor if he meant someone else.
Connor nodded, unable to keep the smirk from his face. When Evan started signing, Connor stopped him. "Uh, Wait. Shouldn't you have the notepad?"
Evan flushed, avoiding eye contact but nodding his head. Connor passed the notebook over, and Evan quickly took it.
Sorry, I'm not used to someone talking to me.
"You're fine."
Evan bit his lip, writing a new note. I'm also not used to someone asking about my day.
"Well, uh... I guess, you know, new day, new habit?" Connor rubbed the back of his neck, realizing how embarrassing he is. "For me. It's gonna be a habit for me to ask how your day way. Or is. You know."
Evan stared perplexed at Connor, then slowly moved towards his notepad. He couldn't keep the smile off of his face as he wrote out his response. I'd like that.
