Aria

"What do you mean laila?", I asked.

"Yeah. There, I said it! I'm not pregnant Aria", she said tears falling down her eyes.

Is she lying to me or did she lie to Shreyas.

What is happening?

"So you and shreyas..".

"Shreyas and I never had sex Aria", she admitted.

Then why did she lie to us all this time, why did she have to break us apart, why did she put us through hell.

"Then why did you..", I started tearing up.

Why would anyone want to do anything of this sort to us. Neither of us have wanted anything bad for anybody and yet everything happens against us.

"After what happened to us 7 years ago I really wanted to apologise to you Aria", she said sitting down and asking me to take a seat next to her.

"Yes I cheated on shrey then and I regret it to this day. Life has not been easy for me aria", she said looking down, a sad smile on her face.

"The guy I cheated on shrey with was my ex boyfriend. I don't know what came onto me but seeing you and shrey together made me want something so beautiful, so I tried to take him away from you".

I don't know if I'm supposed to be feeling bad for her or if I should be furious.

"Even though we were together, you were all he spoke about and that annoyed me more. So I had to do something and out of frustration I got back with my boyfriend, cheating on shrey. I thought he might get jealous but I realised how dumb I was after he left me.", she said narrating her part of the story.

"After that I dropped out of college and got into really bad company. I got into drugs and alcohol consumed me".

"It took me two whole years to come out of it. To come clean", she sobbed.

I really felt bad for her at this point.
She's been through a lot.

I scooted next to her and hugged her.

No matter what she did to us, she's human at the end of the day and she's been through so much.

"I'm so sorry laila. I didn't know", I said rubbing her back.

"It's alright", she said wiping her tears off.

"I then moved to Bangalore and worked as a bar tender for a few years. Can you imagine? Medical college to bartender?", She chuckled.

"My cousin then called me to Mumbai saying I should get into modeling. She knew an agent in Mumbai and that's how I ended up in that place again", she said.

I looked at her with pity in my eyes.

If I knew, I could have done something for her.

"I'm sorry I'm telling you all this unnecessary stuff", she said sitting straight.

"I would have never intentionally broke you guys again aria. You should trust me on this. I'm not that girl anymore", she said.

I nodded smiling.

She doesn't seem so bad.

But, why did she do it?

"But.-".

"But why did I do it is what you're thinking aren't you", she laughed.

I nodded again.

"I was paid aria. I was paid to act like shrey and I were a thing. I was paid to break you apart", she said.

What the hell?

Who paid her?

Who would want to break us apart?

"You were paid? By whom?", I asked when sagar came out of the ICU saying shrey was awake.

Thank God!

"You go see him now. Ill wait out here for you", she said encouraging me to go in.

I slowly walked in to see him blinking at the surrounding around him.
As soon as he saw me, he tried sitting up.

I ran to him and pushed him down.

"Aria?", He whispered.

I smiled and nodded.

"Am I in heaven? Coz I'm seeing angels in front of me", he said smirking. Well trying to smirk.

"You have 3 broken bones and a ripped abdomen and all you can think of is flirting?", I asked chuckling and sitting next to him.

"Aria I'm so sorry for everything", He began.

"Shh. We'll talk all about it later. You need to get better first", I said holding his hand.

"What were you doing in Bangalore anyways shrey?", I asked while he tried pulling me closer to him and failed horribly.

"I was coming to stop your marriage. I can't let some random guy steal you away from me. I was about to pull a classic Nahiiii scene", he smiled.

"Why shrey? You're like this because of me now", I said tears forming in my eyes.

"No. I'm here because I was irresponsible. Yell at me please. But only after I get better or I might cry", he said trying to make me smile.

"I hate you", I said wiping my tears.

"I know. I love you too", he said blowing me a kiss.

"Okay".

"Okay? I've been to hell and back and I get an okay? God kill me!", He said placing his hand on his chest.

I missed this dramatic boy.

"Shrey, I love you. Don't ever do this to me again or I might kill you myself", I said leaning forward and kissing his forehead, just above the stitches.

"Yes ma'am", he grinned.

The door opened and sagar walked in.

"How are the love birds doing?", He asked grinning.

"I'm fine", shrey smiled.

"Oh are you really? Coz I performed the surgery on you", said sagar raising his eyebrows.

"Oh fuck! Are my kidneys missing?", Shrey said touching his abdomen and laughing.

"I'm not so cheap", sagar laughed back.

"Thanks man. You saved my life", shrey smiled.

"If I hadn't, I'd be dead too", he said winking at me while I rolled my eyes at him.

"Aria, your dad is here", said sagar.

"What? What's he doing here?", I asked getting up.

"He's been trying to call you all night and morning and since you didn't pick your phone, he called me. I told him about the whole thing", he said giving me a cheeky smile.

"Okay I'll go see him", I said getting up to leave.

"Oh god. I did not imagine meeting my father in law in this ugly hospital gown", said shrey frowning.

"You're not meeting anyone. You take rest", I said leaving.

I saw appa sitting on the chair next to laila.

"Appa", I said going to him.

"Kanna! You scared me while you didn't pick the call. Sagar told me everything. How's your friend?",he asked, his voice full of concern.

"He's okay appa. Just a few fractures. He'll be fine", I said hugging him.

"Oh thank God", he said hugging me back.

"I just saw the guy who asked your hand in marriage", he said.

What? Here?

"In the hospital?", I asked.

"Yeah just now. Down at the reception", he said.

"Oh".

"Did you guys talk? Do you know him?", He asked me.

"No appa I don't know. What is his name?", I asked.

"I can't seem to remember da".

"Is he a doctor?", I asked further.

"No kanna. But he was standing there with another guy and I heard them talking about you", he said.

"Appa there are so many people here. How will I know who", I said smiling at him.

"The other guy had a lot of tattoos on his hand though", he said.

Wait.

No.

My heart started raising, there was sweat all over my forehead.

"Did you talk to him?", I asked, slowly gulping my fear.

"No I rushed up here. But I heard them talk about sagar as well", he said.

No.

God please no.

I turned to laila and she stood up.

"Laila... Who paid you?", I asked, not ready for the answer.

"You're not going to like the answer aria", she squirmed.

"Laila just tell me!", I said closing my eyes.

"It was.."

"It was Deepak!".
