I have to admit this, LONG DISTANCE RELATIONSHIPS SUCK! The pain of seeing your girl on the phone screen but not being able to touch her, hug her and kiss her is more than any other physical pain.

Everytime I see her falling asleep while we're on a video call brings so much peace and pain to me. Peace because every night it reminds me that this gorgeous woman is mine and pain that I'm not there with her, cuddling her in my arms, stroking her hair until she relaxes and hugs me tight.

Oh the good days we had in Australia.

We've been trying so hard to talk to each other everyday. Ari is super busy with her work and I'm equally busy with my training. But still we make time for each other and call every night at 10pm. That's our golden hour. Ofcourse we text throughout the day, but seeing her charming face at the end of a tiring day is the best feeling ever.

I hate the fact that sagar moved in with her. I mean it's not like I'm scared he'll make a move on her. I'm just jealous, extremely jealous that he gets to see her throughout the day and I don't. But I'm kinda glad that she has him.

After a long call with her last night, I fell asleep really late and ended waking uplate for training.

"Shrey have some breakfast and go", Ma called out to me from the kitchen.

"I'm late Ma. I over slept", I screamed and ran to my car.

As I was driving to the ground I opened my phone to check the message from Ari. She had sent me a video of herself next to a young boy, both of them wishing me a good morning.

I love how my mornings start with her and my nights end with her.

After sending a quick message back, I drove faster to reach the ground. The coach will have my head.

Once I reached, I quickly parked and ran to the ground carrying my training kit along with me. I saw everybody running around the ground for warmup when I went closer to the ground. I immediately went and joined them as coach was no where to be seen.

"Why are you late bitch?", screamed Rahul. He got back from Bangalore a week ago.

Everyday he was there, he would send me random pictures of Aria from around the house. As much as I loved seeing her, I was annoying that Rahul was there.

"Overslept", I replied and kept my pace.

"Why what were you doing? Tell me tell me", he wiggled his eyebrows.

"Phone sex eh?", Asked Hardik as he ran beside me.

"No guys. Even if we did, why would I tell you about it", I smirked and ran faster.

"You da man!", Screamed Rahul again.

"Go get some!", Yelled hardik.

"Someone getting some action", screamed Deepak as he also ran faster keeping my pace.

"Not you too", I rolled my eyes at him.

"Sorry can't help it", he laughed.

That's when coach came and gave us a 10 minute break before we started the practice session.

"So how's it going?", Deepak asked.

"It's going good. I really miss her man. Can you believe it's been like 3 weeks since we last saw her. It feels like 3 years to me", I said putting my head in my hands.

"I understand. Long distance is hard. But if you guys make the time and effort for each other then nothing can break you apart", he said putting his hand on my shoulder and consoling me.

"Thanks man", I smiled.

"Hey you can go to Bangalore for New year's. It's in about 3 days. We all can go surprise her", he suggested.

"Trust me I had already planned everything. But mom said we have plans at home. Our relatives are coming after 2 years or something so she's throwing a party for them", I sighed.

"And you have to be there", he raised his eyebrows.

"Yeaah. Otherwise I won't hear the end of it from her", I frowned.

"Probably next time man", he said.

"What are your plans?", I asked him finishing my bottle of water.

"Rahul and I planned on flying down to Bangalore. I'm not going to Agra and Rahul still has his documents to be completed for his Bangalore home. So we thought we might as well go visit Aria. We miss her too", he explained.

Fuck no! They're going there while I'm not. I fucking hate this.

"Oh".

That's when coach called us back for practice. I'm glad he did. If Deepak told me more about them going to Bangalore, I would have lost my temper and punched him or something.

After a tiring practice match, I finally went home. I took a long shower and plopped on my bed. Ma came with late lunch. Home made Rajma chawal. This can cure anything I tell you.

"Feed me no", I asked her.

"You big baby", she laughed and sat next to me.

I haven't told her about Aria yet. This is the right time I think.

"So Ma.. there's something I've been meaning to tell you", I said as she fed me.

"Yeah tell me", she smiled encouraging me to continue.

"Do you remember Aria? Aria Nair? The girl that stayed next door to us about 7 years ago", I asked.

"Hmm oh yeah I do. The pretty curly hair one?".

"Yeah her only".

"Weren't you guys best friends or something and then she mysteriously left".

Not mysteriously. Because of your dumb son only. But ofcourse I didn't tell her that.

"Yeah. So I met her again in Australia and we really clicked again. So I'm kinda dating her right now", I said slowly hoping she approves of it.

She looked at me for a good 10 seconds and then she broke out into the biggest smile I've seen.

"Ma.. you look really scary right now", I said laughing.

She slapped my head and laughed.

"I'm so happy my son is finally seeing someone. I honestly thought I'll have to force you into an arranged marriage. You're not even someone that'll agree on an arranged marriage", she shook her head giggling.

"Ofcourse mother. You know your son very well but we haven't spoken about marriage and all. It's too soon", I said.

"Are you sure that she's the one?", Ma asked.

"Yes ma. I'm sure. The way she makes me feel, I can't even explain to you. It's divine. I can't stand to see a tear fall down her cheek. My heart shatters when she's upset and when she smiles my whole world lights up", I said trying to explain to her how I feel.
She listened to me with a huge smile on her face.

She placed her palm on my face and smiled at me.

"I'm so happy shrey. I've never seen your face light up like this for anything except Cricket. It's shows how much you care for her. I'm so proud of the man you've become", she said kissing my forehead.
I hugged her tight. I'm so glad she approves.

Once ma left I texted Ari saying I miss her and fell into deep slumber.

I woke up three hours later to Betty licking my face.

"Hiiii Betty", he said letting her on the bed and cuddling with her. I have to survive with Betty until I can have my girl in my arms again.

It was 9pm. One more hour until I can see my baby girl.

I went to the hall and saw shresta watching some movie. I sat next to her and pulled the remote from her hand.

"Hey! Asshat I was watching something", she screamed.

"Yeah I know. Now I wanna watch something", I smirked.

"Maaaa. Shrey is being a pain in the as... Butt", she corrected herself.

"Let him watch na shresta. He's barely home now a days", Ma also supported me. Shresta can fuck off now.

"Ugh", she threw the pillow at me and went off to her room.

I watched some random match's highlights not even paying attention, just waiting for that one persons phone call.

It was 10:15pm now. Still no call..

Finally at about 10:30 she called me. I took my phone and ran to my room.

"Where were you? I missed you", I said as soon as I picked the call.

"Hello to you too", she smiled.

"Sorry, hiiii babyy", I grinned.

"Was stuck at work baby. Sagar screwed up the prescription. Luckily we hadn't given it to our patient yet, so we were able to correct it", she said cuddling with her pillow.

"I sometimes wonder how sagar is a doctor. He is dumb", I said laughing.

"Sometimes? I wonder all the damn time", she said laughing. Oh that angelic laughter.

"Hey who was the boy in the video in the morning".

"That's Aayan. He got admitted today morning for an appendectomy. He told me he's a big fan of cricket. I told him I know a cricketer so he wanted to say hi", she said smiling.

"Should I be scared that he has more charm than I do", I teased her.

"Yes shrey. I'm going to leave you for a 10 year old", she chuckled.

"Babe".

"Hmm".

"Baaaabe"

"Whaaaaaat", she said annoyed.

"I love you", I said making her cheeks go red. I feel like biting her cheeks now.

"I love you too", she said. This is all I need in life.

That's when I noticed, she was wearing the hoodie I sent her.

"Babe you've been wearing this hoodie for almost 5 days straight now".

"I know. It smells like you. If I wash it, it won't smell like you anymore". The things this woman does to my heart.

"I'll send you more okay?", I said smiling.

"Yes please", she yawned. My poor baby is tired. If only I could be there with her. I would have given her a nice massage and hugged her to sleep. Can't wait for those days to come.

And Just like every other day, we feel asleep to each other's silence.

Distance can do nothing when the heart is strong.

And my heart beats only for her.
