We reached the house I shared with sne. It's only been 2 weeks I've been away, but these 2 weeks had so much happening I completely lost track of time. Sagar came to drop me home. I hadn't asked him about scarlett, I'm not sure if I should. But that's the thing about sagar. If I don't ask him, he won't tell me.

I opened the lock and let us in. Sneha wasn't there. She's probably at work.

"Do you want something to drink?", I asked sagar, who plopped on the sofa stretching his arms out and relaxing.

"A beer please", he said closing his eyes and laying his head back.

I nodded and walked to the fridge to fetch him his beer. That's when I noticed sneha's schedule list on the fridge. She had circled 26th December, I wondered why. 

I handed sagar the beer and sat down next to him.

"I never asked you this but what happened between scarlett and you", I eyed him curiously.

"I had the best time with her Ari. You have no idea, that woman drives me crazy but I'd take a bullet for her. We spoke about doing it long distance and it stressed her out. She had been in a very toxic long distance and she doesn't want to risk it again. She freaked out and left in the morning and I haven't heard from her since", he sighed.

Oh no. I knew he really liked her. But this must be so hard on him.

"I'm sorry you have to go through this. Do you want me to talk to her?", I asked placing my hand on his and squeezing it.

"No, I'll have to figure this out myself. Thank you though", he smiled.

"I'm here if you need me okay. You can crash here if you want", I said giving him a hug and walking up to my room. Sagar doesn't live with us. He's just down the road, five houses away.

After a long shower I sprawled across the bed, and took out my phone. 10 missed calls.

Two were from my dad and two from my mom. They must have called to ask if I reached back home safely. I texted them saying I'll call them tomorrow. I had 3 more missed calls from Deepak, one from surya bhai and 3 from shrey.

I called shrey first. After 2 rings he picked up.

"Hey gorgeous. Did you reach home?", He asked.

"Heyya. Yeah I did. I just took a shower and I'm in bed now. Duty starts tomorrow", I said pulling the blanket over me.

"Oh yeah. Our training starts after a week. You know something?", He questioned.

"What?".

"My bed misses you".

"Hmm.. tell your bed I don't miss it. I miss the beautiful man on the bed", I smirked.

"Did you just call me beautiful or was I dreaming?", He chuckled.

"Yes I did call you beautiful shreyas", I laughed.

"Haa thanks. You're beautiful too".

"Yeah I know", I smiled.

"Okay okay fine. But for real, I miss you. A lot. Like a lot lot", he said sounding sad.

"I miss you too shrey, I really wish you were here with me", I sighed.

"Me too baby. Guess what I'm doing now. I'm cuddling with Betty thinking it's you".

Isn't Betty his dog. Haww..

"You atleast have Betty to cuddle with. I have no one here. Sagar is there in the other room though".

"NO. NOT HAPPENING. DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT", he screamed.

"I'm not I'm not chill", I let out a snort.

"You sleep baby. You must be tired. I'll see you tomorrow. I love you potato", he made kissy noises. Oh this cute little boy.

"I love you too. Goodnight shrey", I said cutting the call. I left voice notes to surya bhai and Deepak saying I reached safely and that I'll call them tomorrow. I dosed off thinking about that one face that I've fallen asleep to these past few days.

I woke up the next morning to the smell of freshly brewed coffee. Sne must be back. I walked to the kitchen to find sagar making coffee and breakfast. He is an amazing cook.

"Good morning bubbles", he said grinning.

"Good morning. It smells divine in here", I said taking a seat and pouring myself some coffee.

"I've made pancakes and eggs", he said pushing a plate stacked with pancakes in maple syrup and eggs. I immediately started shoving them down my throat. It's okay to eat without brushing for one day no? It's okay.

After gobbling the delicious breakfast I ran off and got ready to leave to the hospital.
As soon as we reached, we had to go meet our Dean and HOD.

They congratulated Sagar and I for reaching the finals and winning.

After rounds, I went to the ER to meet sne. She didn't come back home last night. Must have had a hectic time here. She had her back turned to me when I spotted her. I slowly crept behind her back and closed her eyes.

"Sagar you fucktard if it's you again I'm gonna shove a scalpel up your ass", she screamed. Jesus, seems like he already did this to her and annoyed the fuck out of her.

"Hey hey it's me. I wanna be alive please", I said removing my hands and stepping behind. The last thing I want right now is a scalpel in a wrong orifice.

"Ari! Biatch!!!!!", She hugged me. More like blocked the air supply to my lungs.

"Hello I missed you too", I said patting her back so she'd let me go.

"Yes yes you know I missed you. How was the trip? How is your boy toy?", She snickered.

"He's not my boy toy, he's my boyfriend", I winked.

"Your ovaries took over your heart didnt it", she laughed.

"Maybe", I joined her laughing.

"You didn't come home last night".

"Nooooooo. These nurses didn't get their shit done right so I had to stay back".

"Oooh okay okay. Hey btw what's special on 26th December. I saw the mark on your schedule", I enquired.

"Oh that! I've been meaning to tell you Ari. I got a fellowship in the UK and I'm leaving on 26th". Wait whaaaat.

"What! Fucking bitch you can't tell me or what?", I raised my voice and then looked around to see if somebody saw me yell.

"I'm sorry, everything happened so quickly and I have so much paperwork to do that I completely forgot. I'll move out of the house in a week. I'll visit my parents and give them my stuff before I go".

"So I'm gonna be living alone then", I sighed.

"Yeah I guess. I'm sorry, I know I was the best roommate", she giggled.

"Yes you were", I hugged her tight. I'll genuinely miss her. But I'm also elated that she got the fellowship.

After the whole catching up with sne, I went back on rounds to see if all my old patients gor discharged. That's when my phone vibrated in my pocket. It was an unknown number and it was a video call.
I swiped down and picked the call only to find a grinning Rahul.

"Yaalllaaa habibiiii", he screamed.

"Rahul! Shush. I'm in a hospital you genius", I said immediately going out to the corridor.

"Oops. I forgot you're smart", he said giving a cheeky grin.

"Shut up", I said laughing.

"Guess whaaaaaat", he screamed again. I will pull his vocal cords out one day.

"I'll guess if you stop screaming you idiot".

"Okaay, guess what", he whispered. Goof means.

"What?".

"I'm coming to Bangalore".

"Whyyyyy", I whined. Rahul nonsense in India also. Great.

"Coz you love me so much and can't live without me". I rolled my eyes so hard at this.

"Hey hey where's the love? You're supposed to say you can't wait for me to come", he glared at me.

"Oh I can't wait for you to come and leave as quickly as possible", I grinned back.

"Bitch", He continued to glare at me but had a small smile.

"I'll see you in a week! Okay byeeee". Does this fucker ever stop screaming.

After the call, I noticed I had a text from shrey saying he's going out with Aman and Sid today. I texted him to have fun and call me later in the evening and went back to the wards.

Once my duty was over I went to sagar to see if he was done too.

"Hey are you done? Let's go home I'm too tired", I said basically falling on the chair next to his.

"Yeah I'm done. This is the last discharge summary", he said typing away on the computer.

Once he was done, we went to his car.

"Did you know sne is leaving", I asked him.

"Yeah she told me this morning".

"I'll miss her man. But I don't wanna live alone", I frowned.

"You won't be living alone".

"What do you mean?", I asked curiously.

He turned to face me and grinned.

"You're looking at you're new housemate", he winked.
