I sit up half asleep on my bed, already dreading going to work. I am a doctor and as much as I love my job, it gets hectic sometimes. I look up at the clock and the time was 7:30am. I am supposed to be at the hospital by 8:00.  I slowly wake up and get ready and go to kitchen to find my roomate making breakfast.

'Good morning Sne', I chirp.

Sneha has been with me ever since my UG days. We've been roomates for as long as I can remember and now we've rented a house together here in Bangalore where we both work together in the same hospital.

'Good morning Aria. I made your favourite breakfast. Finish this up fast so that we can go to work.'  she replied as she gobbled her plate of French toast down.

I am a surgeon and Sne works at the emergency medicine department. We also have another best friend named Sagar who's also a surgeon and we are in the same unit.

I look at my schedule as I eat my breakfast to realise that today was December 1st. I sighed looking at my plate of food.
Every year around this time I felt a sharp sting in my heart.

I couldn't eat anymore. So I threw the remaining of my food and walked up to my car to go to work.

After reaching the hospital, I went on ahead to go on to my daily rounds when I heard someone scream behind me.

'You scared me you idiot' I yelled holding my hand close to my rapidly beating heart.

Sagar stood there grinning from ear to ear like a child. Sagar was the most fun among all the us. The prankster. He was like a big brother to me.

'Guess what. The HOD said he wants to meet us. He wants to tell us something very important and he said to meet him after rounds were done.' he beamed.

'You could have said that in a calm way instead of making me pee my pants.' I glared at him.

He just smirked and walked away.
I continued my rounds. And when I was finally done, I texted sagar to meet me outside the ward so that we could go meet the HOD together.

So that's the first chapter guys. The story is mostly going to be in Aria's POV. I hope you like it. Please let me know.
I will take this story slowly and will try to update everyday.
