Avni slightly smiled at Neil but before she can try to process his expression fully Tina pulled her along. Neil looked on as they walked out of the Khanna mansion.

Tina took over the driving seat, while Avni stepped over to the passenger side.

Five minutes had passed since they had left when Tina broke the silence.

Tina: Silence is common between us, but this silence feels different. She replied, gazing at Avni for a second, who was looking out the window before turning her focus to her.

Avni: What makes it different? She frowned slightly as she asked.

Tina: I'm not sure what's going on in your thoughts, but your mood seems to be unhappy.

Avni took a long breath as she watched Tina stare ahead, then back at her every few seconds. She plastered a wide smile on her face.

Avni: Tina, I'm just thinking about how quickly time has passed; I never imagined that we'd be preparing for your engagement. I'll miss spending time with you once you're married.

The car slowly stopped at the red lights. Tina turned towards Avni as she spoke.

Tina: Can I be honest? Just thinking about being away from you all makes my mind race miles away. Things may feel weird at first, but I guess they will fall into place and we can always meet up whenever we can; but listen to me carefully. Avni Metha, we shall be each other's best friends till we are old, so don't dare give anyone my position. She remarked this while pointing to Avni, who chuckled.

Taking Tina's finger Avni gave it a shake.

Avni: Don't worry, I don't want to die so early. She replied as Tina nodded, appearing to be serious, and they both laughed after few seconds

Tina: You're not upset right ?

Avni: Tinaaa. Why should I be upset?In fact, I'm glad you're going to marry the man you want to be with. She smiled as Tina gripped her hand and resumed driving. Avni stared out the window, her smile faded.

Tina parked the car at the Mall's parking lot. Avni stepped out of the car and went to Tina's side, who was collecting her belongings before leaving the car.

As they reached on the first floor of the shopping mall, Tina took Avni towards a store.

Tina: I hope to find something here. She spoke as they entered.

Avni: Uh Tina. You go ahead; I'll just phone Advay to see how long it will take him to get here.

Tina: Okayyyy, she said walking away from there.

Avni gazed at Tina briefly before exiting the store and grabbing her phone from her handbag. Avni chewed her bottom lip, waiting for Advay to respond. After several rings, she finally heard his voice.

Avni: Thank goodness you answered. She said she felt a sense of relief.

Advay: Well, hello to you too; don't you think a hello or good morning would be nice? He said, chuckling

Avni: It doesn't matter, but if you want me to say it, then fine. Hello, Advay. Is this better? She spoke sarcastically.

Advay: Woahhh. Did someone get up on the wrong side of the bed today?

Avni: Consider it that way. Are you available? I'd appreciate it if you could come to xyz mall right now. Pleaseee, she said faintly at the end.

When she asked him directly, Advay grinned, but he soon noticed that her tone had changed and a frown appeared on his face.

Advay: Of course, I will, as I am off work for a few days. Besides why would I miss the opportunity of spending time with you. He said to which made a small smile appear on her face.

Avni: Thank you, Advay. You're a life saver. She replied, smiling.

Advay: Anything for you, Avni, give me around 30 minutes and I'll be there soon.

Avni: OK, bye. After finishing the phone call, Avni returned to the store.

Tina: There you are. I thought you got busy talking to Advay. She replied humorously.

Avni: Shut up Ti. She said rolling her eyes.

Tina: Anyways. How long is he going to be? She asked rasing her eyebrows.

Avni: maybe 30 mins. Avni said looking at an outfit casually

Tina nodded.

Tina: Look, here are a couple clothes I've chosen for us. It has been a long time since we wore something familiar.

Avni: Tinaa, you know that is not needed; we came for your engagement outfit.

Tina: Chup. Come on. She said, holding her hand as they headed towards the dressing area.

After getting something similar, they headed to a different store and looked at other outfits for Tina to wear to her engagement.

It didn't take long for Avni to help Tina choose an outfit for the engamgent because she was well aware of Tina's preferences. After trying on the outfit, they paid for it and went to another store to find appropriate jewels.

Tina: Avni, why didn't you get something to wear for the engagement? She asked while they waited for the staff to present more jewellery.

Avni: There's no point, Tina.I have many brand-new outfits that Mumma bought for me. So I can wear one of those for the engamgent because I haven't worn them before.

Tina: Well my bestfriend should look the best.

Avni: Don't worry she will. She said smiling but from the inside she was able to feel the pain too.

As they collected the chosen jewellery, a couple of Tina's group members arrived who were familiar with Avni, and they all agreed to walk to Starbucks and wait for the rest of the team members.

It had been 20 mins when Avni phone rang to see it was Advay.

Advay: Hey Avi, I've reached to the Mall where are you?

Avni: I'm in Starbucks Advay.

Advay: Cool. I'll see you in a bit.

Once ending the call Avni told Tina that Advay is coming.

Natasha: Is Advay your boyfriend Avi?

Avni: No, he is only a friend. She stated, she didn't expect such a sudden question. Tina held back her laughter when she saw how Avni reacted.

After a few minutes, Advay entered Starbucks. He noticed Avni seated with a group of people from a distance and approached them.
