You can never just be friends with someone who you fell in love with

"You texted me SOS. What was it?
I think I saw Neil." Advay stated eyeing a very upset looking Avni.He noticed her face is gloomy, flushed. Definitely Something  happened, very unpleasant which involved that Neil. His forehead pinch together in dreading the cause.

"Can you take me somewhere. Quite. Less crowded please?" Her voice eerily calm. Her those deepest brown gaze lost, as if she is in an enormous struggle gripping on something.

"Yep sure". With a single look of concern over Avni Advay pulled to the drive way.

Few minutes later in a abundant place when Advay killed the fuel off his BMW. Avni couldn't hold up a second more, her emotions burst out her chest. It came out as those hefty sobs leaving Advay a minuscule startle first then it shifted to curious, lot of worry at the sight of her loosing it.

"Avni you are getting me worried now. What happened? Did Neil get to know that it's you who wrote those stupid mails? Is he mad at you for that?" Blurted Advay craneing his neck watching Avni crying her heart out covering her face in her palms. Since last half an hour she is nonstop weeping, her whole body shaking pouring the pain out of her chest she was holding too long. Such an aching sight to see for a person like Advay, who has a delicate spot there for this particular girl.
He waited for few minutes, let her mourn some more. But when he sensed that there is no sign she would calm down soon he shifted in his seat to reach her.
Advay took a gentle hold of her one arm gently pulled it away her face. His action did composed her a bit, lessen her lament. She slowly started taking some frantic breaths.

"Avni it's okay if he knew.We can fix this. Let me talk to him once. Trust me I can do miracles, my words can do. He would surely understand" he pleaded when Avni finally brought her heavy gaze at him, those big watery eyes. He nodded reassuring her but her next movement made him freeze at the spot, only his adam apple blobbed few times by the sudden turn of the air inside that small space, such little stunt Avni pulled being unbeknownst of the after effect.

Avni threw her arms around his neck and again broke into another fit of blubs. On the other side Advay stilled for a moment, forgot to breath for few seconds. He never knew his heart can beat this sickly faster at the same time he is loving it, gluing to her like this, holding her this close. She is so soft. He just wanna... anyways forget it.
He couldn't control a stupid grin curved his lips. His arms went around her, he pulled her closer almost in his lap, almost. He wanted it so badly however he is not the type taking advantages of someone's vulnerability. Instead he placed his hand on her hair gently stroking on to soothe her down.
He likes her, like really likes her. In sort He knows he is highly attracted to her. Then again their equation is not what it shows.

"He is so much in pain, I caused it. I messed up everything. No one would ever forgive me. Not even I myself could do. No one can fix this. It's too late. I am too scared." Avni said in between her heavy snivel still being in his hold and Advay's mind swimming in multiple thoughts how to make her believe that everything happens for a reason. There is someone immensely powerful on top of all watching us.

"Shhhhh.....calm down. Whatever happens we will face okay? I'll be with you Baby. Please. Please stop crying. You will get sick now then I will have to take you with me."
"Do you want to sleep with me. Haan? Girl Is that what your intentions are?"He managed to make such funny comments in attempt to cut through the tension.

"Shut up. You idiot" Avni pulled away and lightly smacked him on his shoulder which he responded over dramatically rubbing the spot as if he is in pain.
Embarrassment washed over her she drew a deep breath. Quietly Avni rubbed her eyes clean, her flushed cheeks formed a red hue.  With a small pink handkerchief she wiped her eyes, cheek, lastly her nose in aiming to keep herself a little busy, dodging off the chances to have a eye contact with Advay. She can feel that his eyes are fixed at her, watching her every move.

When she finished all the wiping a ghost of smile tug on her lips faintly may be realising she hit him. She averted her gaze towards the window outside running a hand down her unruly hair in attempt to smooth it. She still looked horrible though, her gaze melancholy, stressful much.
Advay looked a little content, a sigh of relief fell from his mouth before he stole few glances of her and looked away. It's a bliss on another level to see her smile is back, no matter how tiny it was.

That day in club there I was for someone else and guess what I met her finally. I mean I saw Avni several times before but never got that lucky to pleasure having a chat with her. I saw her in the club, she came before few times with her that same friend Tina and few others tagged along. Therefore in that sense it wasn't my first day seeing her.
She is beautiful in a simple, natural way. Eventually I got to know her more in person she is kind, intelligent. The more I spend time with her I found her personality very captivating, no wonder Neil would fall for her. Shit my traitor heart, it hurts.

Avni is made for Neil. Undoubtedly. There is an awful gut feeling that they would end up together no matter how hard she pushed that asshole away , he has gone too deep into this now there is no exit. I saw it in his eyes when our gaze met. His eyes steel watching us together. He was stabbing me repeatedly in his head and I turned a corpse by then I can feel it. It's not that I care.

By the way we are all villains in someone's story. Ain't we?

"Where are we heading by the way?" I inquired in a playfull tone.

"Lets go to the mechanic shop. This morning I dropped my car to get it fixed." Avni answered, she has sobered up much now. And I am happy seeing her in her usual self doing fine enough. As if she has been bottling up her emotions too long. It is good she released a little.

"And then you will kick me off? No way mam. We are going to coffee shop first then I will think about it. I have ditched someone for you and now it's your turn to return me the favour." I took the chance to spend some more hours with her. Call me selfish, again I don't care.

She sighed heavily having no energy to disagree with me anymore. I stole few glances of her pretty face while driving my focus mostly was on road ahead my eyes bright grinning at her antics. I wonder how someone can manage to look all stunning being this sad? It doesn't mean I would love to see her this side more often. Clearly not.
At this point I am famished. Too much emotional talks makes me hungry. Ofcourse for food.
Pull that shit of a brain out of the gutter you naughty people!

20 minutes later.
We placed our orders while sitting in the coffee shop. Avni typically orders coffee, but today I saw she chose an iced caramel frappé with her preferred chocolate cookie, while I just bought my regular coffee and  Croissant.
I was never a fan of crossiants, but a certain someone made me addicted to these mouthwatering crispy warm ones.

When the waiter went, I looked at Avni, who was playing with her phone, the nice breeze moving her hair back and forth, making her look even more beautiful. Knowing that I would have other days to admire her beauty, I decided to ask her the question that had been on my mind all along.

Advay: Avi? He called out to her as he looked at her curiously.

Avni: Hmm? She looked up at Advay, still playing with her phone. A small smile stayed on her face.

Advay: What happened with you and Neil? Although you were unable to speak at the time, I am sure you can now share what was going on.

Avni's little smile faded even further. Advay took hold of Avni's hand and gently squeezed it.

Avni let out a deep sigh. She closed her eyes for a second before speaking. Advay's held her hand, his thumb tracing the back of her palm.

Avni: I don't want to get into too much detail Advay, but Neil called me today and said he was outside my office parking area.
Even though his tone sounded unusual, I chose to ignore it since I presumed Tina was with him to surprise me. However, I was mistaken.
Avni paused for a sec before continuing.
Although things didn't go well at first, Neil somehwhere believes that Tina is not the person who wrote those email, and his feelings for her have changed as he has begun to feel something for me. I was unable to tell him that, yes, I am the same person you had written to, and that whatever you are feeling for me is something that I had begun feeling for you a long time ago.
I wish I could tell him how much I love him, but I'm not able to because it's too late.
Many people are involved in this, particularly Tina and the family members, everyone is aware that in a few days, Tina and Neil will be engaged and soon married.
There has already been enough damage done, and I cannot add to it. As a result, I pretended to be angry with him for talking about such a thing. I wish I could change things, but it is too late now. Everything needs to be how it is.

Advay: Aviii. As your friend, I understand where you're coming from and how you must be feeling, not just you but also what Neil would be going through.
You know what Avni I'm sorry for making you remember all of that.
For the time being, forget about all of this and imagine yourself on a beautiful, lovely coffee date with this hot friend of yours. After all, you're lucky that this hot guy has cancelled his plans and is spending time with you.
He said this while bending forward and gently kissing the back of Avni's palm, making her chuckle.

Avni: You never miss an opportunity to praise yourself, right? She shook her head. A smile back on her face. Even though it was a small one still but Advay was satisfied.

Advay: Why should I when I have the most beautiful and attractive girl in front of me? he stated, looking at her with a pleasant smile, but his eyes were filled with a emotion that Avni had not recognised.

Avni shook her head at Advay when the waiter came back with their order.

He watched her sip the frappe. A faint smile formed across his face as his lips parted to watch Avni take a bite of her cookie and relish the flavour. As he eyed the girl seated next to him, he tilted his head sideways and sipped his coffee.

Meanwhile Neil drove aimlessly through the streets for god knows how long. He didn't know what to do anymore. Who knew that a person who had been living in a bubble for the past several days would have his expectations shattered by the girl he had fallen in love with. Who didn't have the same feelings for him.

With a pained laugh, he recalled how confidently he had assumed Avni and Advay were just friends, but today she had thrown it in his face by saying they would soon tell their parents about them.

He was so happy that he thought she would feel the same way about him and understand, but everything fell apart. She was indifferent to his feelings. It was Tina and Advay, her family, to her. Neil had no place at all, as she proved with what she said today.

Life may appear to be beautiful, but no one knows when a beautiful day will turn into one of your worst days, as Neil experienced. Avni's each word kept coming back in his thoughts, along with her firm response to his affections for her and the entire situation.

Neil understood that nothing could heal his broken heart. He needed to forget about this phase, even if just for a while, and he knew something, or more likely a place, that may help his damaged heart. That will bring comfort to his aching heart.
