Didnt Expect It
"Are we a moment or lifetime?"
Neil tossed and rolled on the bed, feeling something bright flash across his face.
He turned his face away from the sun, which had brightened the entire room when something grabbed his gaze
Opening his eyes again, he saw the interior of the wall and realised it was nothing like his bedroom. Sitting up, he looked around the room, taking in all the details. Confusion was written all over his face as he stood up.
Neil: Where am I? As far as I recall, I was at the club when.... His sentence came to a halt when he recalled seeing Advay in the club when he was half drunk, and the last thing he remembered was when Advay chose to call Avni before the alcohol consumed his body completely.
He frowned as he placed one hand on his hip and the other caressed the back of his neck when he noticed a letter beside the small table light.
Picking it up, his eyes scanned through the text to see what it said.
Hope you're feeling better once you wake up. In the washroom, a fresh toothbrush and towel have been kept for you. ADVAY.
Neil furrowed his brow as he saw the name written on the note. It was as if his eyes hoped to see another name printed on that note rather than Advay's.
He placed the note back and noticed the washroom door, which was left ajar. He might as well freshen up a little before going home looking like a disaster.

Advay: Oh you're up?And Ready to leave already? Advay remarked seeing Neil walk out of the guest room he slept last night. A jacket folded hung around his left arm and the right one is gripping his iphone. Face fresh, hair a little wet, seems he used some water to get his morning hair look better.
His steps halted at the chair facing Advay.
"That's early. Didn't expect it." Advay muttered under his breath. Neil didn't hear.
Neil: "Your girlfriend did a good job leaving me here last night. I should thank you first for that to let me stay" his face straight. There was nothing humour in his sentences but Advay fought a laugh. It's time he should know few things.
Advay: I don't do relationships. He stated as a matter of fact in between his coffee sips.
"I like Avni though". He added, his lips tugged in a small smile brightening up his face talking about Avni. It didn't seem like he is intending to test Neil's patience mentioning Avni, but somehow it did irritate Neil.
Neil: I know that. With a resigned sigh he responded. His face grim not at all enjoying this conversation which Advay noticed.
They are facing eachother sitting at the dinner table. Advay insisted Neil to take a seat, and unwillingly he followed for the sake of his help last night.
Advay: There is a guy, his name is Leo A French Guy. He works with me. We are sort of into eachother lately.
Neil: You what? His eyes shoot up not able to hold back his shock state.
Advay: I am into both, you know those stuffs? I am a bisexual. With a confidence in his voice he stated. Hearing such a brand new information about Advay, had his eyes widened. He was taken aback by this sudden information about him. It's not that he hasn't heard such kind of stuffs before, rather it is quite common there in abroad, It is just he hadn't any clue about Advay being bisexual.
Isn't he dating Avni? With a deep frown in between his forehead he stared at Advay.
Neil: "oh whoaaow." He blew out a loud breath. It took him few minutes to digest it fully what he just heard.
Advay: It seems like I startled you. He chuckled watching Neil having a little difficulty to comprehend it whole.
Neil: Take no offense but yeah, a little. This was unexpected. He admitted truthfully.
Advay: Not taken. He replied dismissing Neil with a soft laugh.
Neil: "Well does Avni know this? " he enquired once he composed back himself from his little flabbergasted stance.
In reply Advay shrugged his shoulder, with little smirk he silently took a sip of his coffee.
Neil: And she has no problem with it? He enquired further not able to hold back his mystified stated with this another revelation, which earned him a pinched face from Advay when he put down the mug.
Advay: Why would she anyway? It's not that.....
Before he could get the complete reply from Advay his phone vibrated on the sink shutting up both of them, that he kept there few minutes ago when Advay offered him a glass of orange juice with a hangover relief strip.
Exhaling a heavy breath Neil swiped his phone screen to accept the call.
It's his mother on the line.
Neil: "I am fine mom.
Yep I'll be there before breakfast." With a flat tone his one sided replies are short and quick.
Shweta: We will be waiting. Come soon Tillu. Bye
Neil: Bye mom. He said with a heavy sigh.
Once ending the call neil fidgeted with his phone and slight scratched his forhead.
Neil: umm...Thank you. His voice faltered a little.
Advay: Oh wow. I didn't expect that. He said eyeing Neil with a smug smile, shoved his hands in his pockets.
Neil rolled his eyes, letting out a sigh he said "I will get going right now" and saying that he advanced his steps, typed on his phone keys. Neil was about to book a cab when Advay interrupted.
Advay: My friend works for a cab company, so I specifically called him over to drop you off at your residence; all of the details have been given to him. He said and Neil's fingers paused while typing as he looked up.
Neil: No need. I'll manage. He was about to turn when Advay spoke.
Advay: Come on, Neil. You are Avni's friend. I can do this much right. He gave him a genuine smile this time.
Neil took a deep breath, weighing if it's good idea to let his gaurd down for this man who he still has.not developed any likeness, or may be after last night he can atleast consider him a little tolerable. It's not that within a night they have turned into buddies. Not in this lifetime. No way. Neil shook his head sighing a scoff of impossible.
Neil: I'll pay you back, he said with a impassive tone reaching for his wallet, which Advay pulled from his pocket while swinging it back and forth.
Advay: Knowing your condition, I believed it was better to keep it safe. He said handing it to him and there is no need to pay back, and I truly mean that. He said, handing it back to Neil.
Neil: Thanks Advay. Giving him a short head nod.of appreciation he attempted to leave.
Advay: yep. He did the same in response flashing a tiny smile.
Reaching to the threshold Neil stopped abruptly and turned his face partly to face Advay.
Neil: Was it Avni with us?
Advay: Yes, we planned to meet, but when I spotted you, I informed her right away. Just wanted to let you know that she messaged your family from your phone to let them know you're staying at a friend's house so they don't have to worry about you being drunk. She left after we brought you to my house.
Neil nodded. He couldn't recall much, but he believed he had given Avni the password, which wasn't a huge thing for him.
Neil: thanks once again Advay. Bye
Advay nodded and Neil left.
As he approached the flat, he noticed a placard with his name. As he made his way to the car, he saw that some individuals were heading out for their morning stroll while others were just dropping by to exchange good morning greetings. His life was marked with a lot of questions throughout that time as to how things will turn out now. He sat in the car without giving it any more thought.
Neil placed his back of the head against the seat and closed his eyes. Because of his pounding headache, he was glad to hear the music playing at a tolerable volume.
All he wanted to do at the moment was get home, and he knew that a strong coffee may help. But the words that Advay had spoken to him were stuck in his mind.
Neil startled as he sat up in his seat wondering when he had fallen asleep. He looked at Advay's friend who had been calling him for the past few minutes. Seeing they were outside the Khanna residence he thanked the person and took out some money.
Advay's friend: It's okay, sir. Advay has already paid me, so there's no need, he answered, refusing to accept the money Neil was offering him.
Neil: I know he did, but you came specially at his request, so this is a token of my appreciation, he continued, placing the cash in the guy's hand, who smiled warmly.
As he got out the cab, he paused for a moment, recalling Advay's mention of being bisexual, having a lover, and liking Avni.
Neil: If Avni knows this, how can she be so indifferent about it? I need to talk to her and make sure she understands. He said and began to walk out of the gates towards Metha Mansion when he came to a halt, recalling every word Avni had spoken in the car. No, Neil, Avni Metha wants nothing to do with you. Not even friendship. Let her to live her life as she feels appropriate. He said this to make himself understand
