(Roman's POV)

I couldn't believe it! That clutz lost us all of our antidotes. Well, it wouldn't be ours if not for her uncle, BUT STILL! I was angry.

"Great job Alex! You blew it!" I shouted at her. She winced but stood her ground.

"Hey come on stop it!" Hadley said walking towards me.

"Hadley," Alex started. Grabbing her cousin by the hand pulling them away from me. "I got it." Hadley opened her mouth in protest but Alex looked over at Kyle and he grabbed Hadley's hand calming them down.

"Look," Alex started. "I'm sorry I dropped them. I'm a little clumsy, but what I know is that if not for me and Hadley the antidotes wouldn't have been here in the first place and we would have two undead friends on our hands. So before you go on and blame me for an accident I suggest that you take a step back and ask yourself how you would want people to react if and when you would make a mistake and then maybe try to be a little kinder."

"Ooo school him don't be mean though," Patton said trying not to laugh.

I looked at her bewildered. Not sure what to say.

"She's right you know?" Talyn said. "She saved Derek and Hadley's lives."

"Doesn't change the fact that she lost us all of our potential saviors. Those could have saved all of our lives." I stated glaring at Alex.

"I concur Roman but, you have to understand that accidents happen, Calm down," Logan said calmly.

"You are telling me to calm down?" I asked. "You? Mr. Freaking Zombie Apocolypse?"

"Roman!" Logan said. "I know that she may have broken the vials. But we have two exceptionally smart people with us. I am sure that we can figure it out."

"I'm sorry who?" Remy asked. Then he quickly added, "Like I know you Logan but who is the other?" He had already known Logan was smart and didn't want him to have to......scream it in his face again.

I watched Logan rub his temples. "You people are the bane of my existence." Then he looked up. "Have you not noticed?"

No one spoke.

"Of course you haven't," Logan said. He pointed to Hadley. "Them."

Hadley raised an eyebrow. They pointed to themself. "Me?"

"No them," Logan said nodding behind Hadley. We all looked there and saw no one. Logan rolled his eyes. "Oh my God! Yes, you!"

"You are a genius," Logan said to them.

"Sorry, how do you know this?" I asked.

"We talked on the drive," Logan replied looking over at me. "They told me they are 14 and taking senior-level calculus. They recited 150 digits of pi, for fun. They finished middle school at 10. They are 14 and they can drive for goodness sake!"

Hadley looked down at their hands. "I mean I'm smart I guess."

"FALSEHOOD!" Logan yelled.

"YOU GUESS?" I shouted. "YOU GUESS?!?"

"That's really amazing, Kiddo," Patton said

"I know, that's what Kyle, Lucy, Alicia, and I have been saying forever but they just don't listen to us!" Alex exclaimed, "Well Sam always lifted them up too but he-"

Hadley shot her a look and Alex cut herself off immediately.

"Who's Sam?" I asked starting to get really confused.

"NO ONE!" Hadley and Alex screamed in unison. Oddly even the other people that had arrived with Alex and Hadley, even Kyle, looked confused at the name.

"Okay, well that's a talk for another day." Patton said obviously trying to keep the peace, "Why don't we just load up and get going?"

"Agreed!" Hadley said running towards the van and starting the engine. I decided it would only make sense to apologize to Alex for being so rude earlier.

"Alex, may we speak really quickly?" I asked kind of quietly worried that she or one of her friends would yell at me for what I had said.

"Of course," Alex said.

"I apologize for how rude I was earlier, I was out of line and I, of all people, know what it's like to make mistakes," I said, sincerely hoping that she would forgive me.

"I forgive you, Roman. You have a bit of a short temper but that's also human. Just try to respect people. It may do you some good." She said. I breathed a sigh of relief and decided to head to the van before they left without us.

Hopefully, soon the two Nerdy Wolverines would find a way to make a new cure but today we'll just have to get to the cabin.
