LXXVI
We stay up there for about thirty more minutes, until Cassandra suggests that we start making our way back inside. "Thank you," she whispers. "What for?" Smiling, she takes my hand.
"For making this the best day of my life." I shake my head. "No... thank you." Once we get to the dorms, both of us change quickly, and, just before I go to sleep, Cassandra asks, "Can I stay with you?"
I chuckle and move over to make room for her. "Of course." She gives me a kiss on the cheek. "I love you."
"I love you more." I grin. "I love you most." The next morning, we wake up to the piercing sound of my stupid alarm clock. "Hey," I whisper. Cassandra yawns. "Sleep well?"
Rolling her eyes, she sits up. "I don't want to go to training!" I laugh. "What's so funny?" I grin. "Nothing. You just look... adorable with your hair all over the place."
She glares at me, but smiles a moment later. "Thanks for the compliment," she replies. "Come on. We need to get going or we'll be late for our amazing fear sims." She rolls her eyes. "Race you to the bathroom outside!" Oh, no you don't! I grab my things in about ten seconds and run to the bathroom.
As the only one with an actual door, this bathroom is pretty popular, to say the least. Luckily, I'm able to outrun her and I slam the door in her face. The look of surprise she gives me is priceless, and she starts yelling out every swear word in her vocabulary.
"Yeah, love you too," I mutter. I do my best to get out of there in less than ten minutes, though - I certainly don't want to face my girlfriend's wrath. After removing the bandage from my tattoo and applying some of the ointment Tori gave me on it, I change as quickly as possible.
People have started knocking on the door - not very politely, if you know what I mean - so I give up and decide to let them in. "I'm coming!" Eric's there when I open the door. "Heard you got a tattoo. How cute. Out of my way!"
He shoves me aside, and I focus on controlling my temper. "Nice to see you, too," I retort. I exit the bathroom and find Cassandra waiting in the hall. "You ready?" She glares at me. "Duh. I had to get dressed in there. Thanks a lot!"
I roll my eyes. "Sorry. Look, from now on, you get first dibs on the bathroom, alright? I promise." She sighs. "Okay." I lean forward and kiss her. "Am I forgiven?" She shrugs. "I guess."
I kiss her again. "How about now?" She laughs. "Yes, I forgive you. Let's go eat." We head to the Pit and take a seat at our usual table, where Lauren and Zeke are already having breakfast. "Hey, guys. How was your date?"
Zeke grins. "You two do any... multiplying last night?" Cassandra reaches over to hit him on the head. "It was great. We got tattoos, actually. I had a lot of fun!" Lauren glares at her. "Yeah? Well, it would have been a lot more fun if you'd let me come along!"
Zeke frowns. "Hey, calm down, Laur." He lays a hand on her arm, but she shrugs it off. "Don't tell me what to do! And I can't believe you got a tattoo without me! I thought we were going to do that together!" Cassandra looks furious. "Not everything revolves around you, you know!"
She gets up so abruptly, her chair falls over. "Why can't you just be happy for-" She turns white and looks down. I follow her gaze, and my eyes widen. She's bleeding. Again. "Cassandra!" I'm able to catch her just before she falls to the ground. And she's unconscious.
