Blind Date (Brohm)

"I don't know, Jonathan, this seems kinda dumb."

"What?! It's not dumb! I've been setting this up for a month now, Ryan!"

"Yeah, and you haven't told me a single thing about this guy."

Jonathan rolled his eyes at the older male, fixing the collar on the brunette's flannel, using his thumb and forefinger to smooth it down and make it even.

The hazel eyed male had his hands in his black jeans' pockets, slouching a little, eyes looking a bit bored as Jonathan fixed him up.

"It's a blind date, Ryan. That's the whole point. You don't know anything about him."

Ryan sighed, licking his lips absently before his voice broke through the air.

"Watch me get murdered by a clown because you set me up on a blind date with this Bryce guy."

Jonathan huffed, stepping back to admire his work and staring, making sure Ryan looked perfect.

"You're gonna get killed by a clown, alright, but it won't be Bryce."

Ryan sighed at the threat, looking over Jonathan's head to stare at himself in the mirror.

He didn't look too bad. He had to give props to Jon, because, even if his ideas weren't always the best, he really knew how to put an outfit together.

"You're welcome." The blue eyed male interrupted, furrowing his brows at Ryan and waiting for his words.

Ryan nodded, stepping down from the stool Jon had put him on to work easier, and going towards the living room, not bothering to ask Jon about the tv, he had been over enough times to know how to work it.

"Thanks, Del." He let the nickname slip, and Jonathan winced a bit at it, a few memories coming back.

It was the nickname Ryan had called him when they dated a while back. It didn't work out, obviously, but that didn't stop the two from being best friends.

In fact, the relationship was just plain sad. It was often awkward and weird, due to them being so different. Fights broke out often, and it was just all together a mistake. They found it much easier to be friends than partners.

That was part of the reason Jonathan had set up this blind date: to get Ryan over the past and over them.

The brunette had told Jonathan he didn't care about it, but Jon knew better. He could still read the man like a book.

And he could read that Ryan still thought about them once in a while. Still felt bad after calling it off, but, truth be told, Jon was much happier now that they weren't together.

He was talking to a guy from Canada, and things were going well. But he didn't want to take things any further until Ryan had someone to call his own.

Jonathan still cared about him, and he wanted Ryan to be happy, more than anything he wanted the man to be happy, and he knew Bryce could give him that happiness.

Jonathan had met Bryce a few months ago at a mini golf course that he had went to with Luke. Bryce worked there, and he instantly struck Jon as Ryan's type.

Of course, Jon wasn't going to ask him straight out if he was gay, so instead, he made friends with Bryce.

About a month ago, after Jon had been showing Bryce pictures of him and Ryan, (hoping to get a reaction out of the blonde) Bryce had let it slip that he thought Ryan was cute.

The smile that had popped up onto Jon's face was huge, and it was then that he had begun convincing Bryce and Ryan to go on this date.

Fast forward to a month later, and he had finally convinced them both to go through with it.

Of course, he had kept details about each guy to himself, wanting the date to be completely, well, blind.

So now Ryan was sitting on his couch, preparing for a phone call that Jon would receive from Bryce, signaling that he was ready and on his way.

For some reason, Jonathan had wanted the date to happen at his house, and Ryan thought it was so he could keep an eye on the two.

Ryan had had his fair share of one night stands at his place, and Jonathan wanted to ensure that this was no one night stand. So he would have the date at his house, where he knew Ryan wouldn't dare try anything to get Bryce in bed with him.

Ryan was willing, but not that willing. Not to that extent. Jon knew that.

The sudden buzzing of his phone had Jonathan nearly jumping in excitement. He looked to Ryan, wiggling his eyebrows and exhaling calmly before answering.

Ryan listened to the conversation, eyes glued to the tv screen, but ears honed in on Jon's voice.

"Hey man!.....yeah, he's sure.........no no, take your time......yeah dude.......ok......uh huh......yeah, that's fine.......,ok dude, see ya then?........yeah, later!"

Ryan looked over the couch, eyes scanning Jonathan's face for any type of sadness or bad news, becoming impatient as Jon looked out the window.

"Well, what did he say?"

Jonathan faced Ryan, mouth turning up in a wide smile and leaning over the couch, hugging Ryan awkwardly because of the couch in the way.

Ryan made a weird face, and Jon laughed, pulling away and practically skipping, his distinct laugh echoing throughout the house, making Ryan smile.

"I take it he's on his way then?"

Jon nodded, fixing the sleeves on his blue hoodie and making his way to the kitchen, pulling out dining supplies and making his way to the dining room, feeling Ryan's eyes on him. He looked at the plates and silverware, making sure they looked perfect, before placing them on the table.

Ryan watched silently, running a hand through his combed brown hair. His hazel eyes were soft and he was content as he listened to Jon's soft humming.

It wasn't until Jon stepped away from the table that Ryan's calmness dropped.

He noticed that there was only enough at the table for two people.

"Uh, Jon?"

Jonathan turned to face him, confusion masking his features as he opened his mouth to speak.

"What's wrong?"

Ryan pointed to the table, turning on the couch so he could get s better look at the setup.

"Where's your stuff?"

Jonathan looked back at the table, understanding hitting him and a small giggle erupting from his throat as he sat down in one of the empty chairs.

"I'm not gonna be joining you two, Ryan. That'd make me a third wheel. I'm just gonna be upstairs skyping Evan while you two get your date on."

Ryan furrowed his brows, a nervous feeling settling in the pit of his stomach.

Jonathan was supposed to be his safety blanket in this whole thing. Sure, he was charming and all, but that was only with people he knew he was going to ditch in the morning.

This was an actual date. He had to make a good first impression, make conversation, and seem interested in the other person.

What if he wasn't?

It wasn't like he could just leave, Jonathan had his car keys for that purpose.

And he sure as hell wasn't going to walk. Not when his place was more than half an hour away.

He sighed, laying down on the couch and resting his feet up on the edge, hiding his face behind his arm, the other hanging off the side of the couch.

"You never make things easy." He mumbled, thinking that Jon wouldn't hear him.

His mistake.

"I'm doing this because I care about you, Ryan. Relationships aren't easy to begin with."

Ryan flinched.

He didn't like bringing up relationships, he still had regrets with the break up between him and Jon.

His voice was small and dull, almost monotone as he spoke.

"Yeah, no kidding."

Jon sighed at this, the slight jab not really affecting him. He knew Ryan's saltiness was a defense mechanism for when he was nervous, worried, or uncomfortable. Right now, he was sure it was all three.

His voice cut through the air like a knife, the words reaching Ryan and tugging at his heart a little.

"Some are easier than others, but hey, what're ya gonna do?" He paused, looking out the window towards the street, noticing the sun beginning to set. "Now get up off the couch before you wrinkle your clothes. I worked too damn hard on making you look nice for you to ruin it."

Ryan chuckled at his words, lifting himself from the couch, smoothing out his outfit and bowing for Jon, causing the black haired make to let our his own laugh.

Ryan sat at the table next to Jon, his head resting on the younger male's shoulder. Jonathan didn't even try to move him away.

His heart ached a little at a sudden worrying thought:

What if Bryce hurt Ryan?

It would be his fault for introducing the two, for getting them to date. Of course, Bryce didn't seem the type to use people, but that didn't stop Jonathan from worrying for his best friend and ex boyfriend.

He instinctively tensed at the thought of a crying Ryan, and the older male must've noticed, because he lifted his head and looked Jon in the eyes, confusion and worry crossing his handsome features.

"Is something wrong, Jon?"

He didn't want Ryan to rethink his agreement on the date, so Jonathan put a smile on his face and a glimmer in his eyes, hiding his own worry from his friend.

"No, nothing's wrong, asshat-" his phone buzzed with a text and he immediately jumped from his chair, excitement for Ryan hitting him like a brick.

It was a text from Bryce, saying he was pulling into the driveway. Jonathan pulled Ryan up from his seat, once more smoothing his flannel and running a hand through the older man's hair, making sure it was perfect.

He heard Ryan mumble a quick, "thanks mom", and it earned the brunette a playful smack on his chest.

Jonathan went to the door, motioning for Ryan to stay in the kitchen and act like he was doing something productive.

Ryan rolled his eyes, looking towards the oven and pretending to mess with the dials.

Jon huffed, telling him to just stand by the sink and wait, since he couldn't seem to do something that made sense, considering neither of them had cooked the food.

It was Chinese takeout, because Ryan didn't like cooking, and Jonathan didn't really know how.

Jonathan had wanted to make it a dinner date, so he did the next best thing: ordered food.

He heard the two knocks at the door and waited a couple seconds before answering, his smile only growing as he looked up at the male before him.

Ryan peeked towards the door, noticing the blonde stranger in the doorway. His face instantly heat up with a blush as Bryce made eye contact, and Ryan smiled awkwardly, leaning against the sink and trying his best to act cool.

Jonathan let the blonde haired male in, making conversation and telling Bryce where certain rooms were, and Ryan took the time to assess him quietly.

He was taller than him, which made him a little bit upset, considering he was older (Jonathan had told the two their ages) but he let it slide because damn, was the blue eyed man gorgeous.

He had a small smile that made Ryan's heart flutter a bit, and his soft features were welcoming, blue eyes filled with happiness and purity, and Ryan realized he could look at the guy for hours without becoming bored.

"So you must be Ryan?"

He was shaken out of his thoughts by Bryce's voice, and Ryan's breathing hitched, because God, was the voice calming.

He nodded, then found his voice, trying to make himself less awkward.

"Uh, yeah, and you're Bryce?"

The blonde smiled and let out a small laugh, making Ryan's face burn with a blush that he was sure wouldn't go unnoticed.

Bryce seemed to ignore it though, and for that, Ryan was grateful.

"That's me. I take it Jonathan didn't tell you much about me?"

Ryan chuckled, finding himself becoming calm with Bryce, maybe even more so than when he was with Jon.

"I'm afraid he failed to mention how good looking you were, along with other things."

It was Bryce's turn to blush, and Ryan could feel Jon's eyes on him, but they were approving and urged him to continue.

The blonde brushed a strand of hair from his face, looking to Jonathan and then back at Ryan, before staring down at the floor for a second.

"Yeah, he didn't tell me how cute you were in person. I had to find that out for myself."

Jonathan smiled at the two before interrupting, his head motioning towards the oven.

"Well, I don't wanna be a third wheel to y'all. Dinner's in the oven, if ya need me, just text me."

With that, Jonathan left, turning a corner and heading upstairs, footsteps slowly fading, leaving Bryce and Ryan in the kitchen alone.

Ryan rocked back and forth on his heels for a moment, taking in the silence that was surprisingly comfortable.

He then looked towards the oven, then back at Bryce before speaking, deciding not to keep the guy waiting.

"You can go sit at the table, either seat is fine." He smiled nervously and pointed his thumb towards the dining room.

Bryce nodded, his own smile warm and genuine. It made Ryan as calm as before, and he liked that.

He opened the oven, where Jonathan had put the takeout so it wouldn't get cold. Ryan brought it over to the table, placing the various items of good down before grabbing the 2 liter of soda and bringing it to the table.

He looked down at Bryce, his voice a little apologetic as he spoke.

"I hope you don't mind Dr. Pepper. It was the only thing Jonathan got."

Bryce nodded, his own voice nothing short of beautiful to Ryan.

"I don't mind at all, haha. It's actually my favorite." He rubbed the back of his neck, his eyes closing for a moment as he laughed.

Ryan smiled surprisedly, thanking Jonathan for picking a person who liked the same things he did.

"It's my favorite too, actually." He said, taking Bryce's glass and filling it up, along with his own. He could feel the blue eyed male's gentle gaze on him, but it didn't bother him. He was flattered, to be honest.

He let Bryce help himself to the food as he spoke, eyes twinkling and body relaxing as he became more comfortable with the younger male.

"I'm actually starting to like this blind date."

Bryce looked up, smiling lightly and agreeing, picking up his fork and spinning some noodles on it.

"Yeah, me too. I'll admit, I was a little nervous at first. I mean, I haven't been on a date in months."

Ryan nodded as he picked up his own fork and stabbed a piece of broccoli half heartedly.

"It's been a while since I was on a date, too. I'm actually not that good at going on them." He confessed, keeping his eyes on his plate. "I always get too nervous and mess something up."

He looked up to see Bryce chewing silently, and he laughed as the blonde blushed.

He waited for him to finish before continuing, his eyes trailing to Bryce's lips before quickly looking away, hopefully unnoticed.

"But for some reason, this is different."

The blonde before him made a sound that he took as him agreeing, and he heard him clear his throat.

Bryce tucked that one stray hair back again, and Ryan smiled at the action, finding it cute.

"It's probably because I'm just so irresistibly charming." Bryce couldn't help the laugh that came after he spoke, even he couldn't take himself seriously.

He didn't notice the small "Maybe" that came from the male across from him, accompanied by a couple of his own laughs.

They ate in silence for a bit, but it was that same comfortable silence that Ryan had experienced earlier, and he didn't mind at all that they weren't talking.

The night went by rather quickly, and, after some more talking and a lot of laughs from each person, Ryan noticed that 3 hours had already passed.

They had abandoned the dining room and were currently watching Netflix in Jon's living room, and Ryan was trying to make a move.

His nervous feeling had faded when dinner started, so now, he was just trying to find the perfect moment to act.

Bryce had his legs to his chest as the music in the movie crescendoed, his hands ready to hide his eyes as the scary movie played on.

Out of nowhere, there was a jump scare and Bryce yelped, hands instinctively grabbing onto the closest thing to him, which just happened to be Ryan's shirt.

The blonde cuddled into Ryan in fear, and Ryan took this as his cue. He wrapped an arm around Bryce and pulled him closer, hearing his heartbeat against his chest.

Bryce looked down, and Ryan could see the small blush crawling onto his face in the light of the tv.

He chuckled, lifting his head so he could meet Bryce's eyes, his own eyes cloudy with need.

"Scared, Brycey?"

Bryce blushed even more at the sudden nickname and his tone of voice, taking note of Ryan's teasing yet breathless way of speaking.

He kept his eyes on Ryan's, deciding that he wanted-no-needed to take things further. He felt something special with Ryan, something that he knew he could trust.

His breath was hot against Ryan's cheek, and it only made Ryan more exited as to what would happen.

"And if I was?" He noticed Ryan lick his lips absently, and Bryce found it incredibly sexy.

Ryan found himself moving, repositioning the two so that Bryce was underneath him, pinned by his arms on either side of the blonde's head.

"Well," He leaned down, lips brushing against Bryce's own tentatively, as if asking for permission. "I would have to take your mind off the movie, then."

Bryce bit his lip, eyes dilated as he waited. Ryan locked his eyes with the blonde's, hesitant, needing permission so he knew exactly what Bryce wanted.

Bryce smiled, but when nothing happened, he became impatient, and used his hands to grab the sides of Ryan's face, bringing his lips down on his own.

Ryan didn't need another invitation.

--------------------------------------------

Soft moans filled the air, a hand on a mouth, preventing anything above normal voice level.

Gasps and pants could be heard in between, the intensity and friction doing things to each male as Ryan rolled his hips, Bryce's back arching in the process.

The blonde found himself reaching his climax, soft whimpers coming from his mouth as he reached his high, his cries music to Ryan's ears as the hazel eyed man's thrusts quickened and he soon found himself joining Bryce in the bliss.

His body felt weak and worn out as he tried to catch his breath, and he could feel Bryce tighten his grip on him, hearing the younger male inhale and exhale quite loudly.

Ryan stayed there for a moment, on top, feeling Bryce shudder beneath him, dull nails biting into the older's skin, but he hardly cared.

He exhaled slowly, regaining his breath as he rolled over, Bryce immediately cuddling into his side, obviously tired from what they had just did.

The two stayed quiet for a moment, and Ryan wrapped them in the guest bedroom sheets, Jonathan's face flashing in his head.

It seemed Bryce was thinking the same thing, because he lifted his head and looked down at Ryan, eyes filled with nervousness.

"Ryan..."

"What's up?"

"What if Jonathan finds us?"

Ryan thought about it for a moment. He had no idea what time it was, but he was sure to fall asleep soon, and he really didn't feel like erasing all the evidence at the moment.

He had relocated the two to Jon's guest bedroom, not wanting the house's owner to find them doing it on his couch. I mean, Ryan had some restrictions when it came to this stuff.

Ryan shrugged his shoulders, running a hand through his disheveled hair and speaking up after a few moments of silence.

"Then it's his fault." He tilted his head up, capturing Bryce's lips in a kiss and smiling against him when he felt the blonde return the action with equal passion.

He slipped an arm beneath Bryce's head, pulling him closer, staring up at the ceiling and smiling, voice light and tired as he spoke.

"He's the one who set up this blind date."

He could hear Bryce's soft giggle, and felt him nod against his skin, the younger's voice soft as he agreed with Ryan.

"Yeah, you're right. He's the one who set up this blind date."
