3rd person

I may not live to see our glory

Luke was sitting at home, currently waiting for (Y/n) to come back from the store when he heard his phone ring. He picked it up to hear, "Is this a relative of (Y/n)?" "Yes it is." He said, glancing at the crib where his and (Y/n)'s daughter laid sleeping.

But I will gladly join the fight.

"Well I'm sorry to tell you sir but (Y/n) got into a car crash due to a drunk driver and didn't survive." Said the person on the phone, likely a police officer. Luke started to feel tears flow from his eyes. "O-oh..." "I'm so sorry to have to tell you that sir."

And when our children tell our story

"I-it's alright. Thank you for letting me know." Luke said, trying not to sob. "The body is currently being taken to get fixed up for the funeral. You will be notified when you can pick it up." The officer said before hanging up.

They'll tell the story of tonight.

Luke noticed his daughter waking up, really happy about something judging by her babbling. He carefully picked her up and held her close, finally starting to mentally break down from the phone call's information. He knew he likely wouldn't be able to see you in everyday life anymore.

(Y/n) finally got into the room, a ghost but finally there. She was gifted with a small bit of time to say goodbye to him and she was almost out of that time. She looked at him and sighed, walking over and hugging him while he held their child that she knew would blow him away one day with something.

Luke froze when she hugged him and started to feel herself disappear and frowned. She looked up at him, muttering, "Take care of her for me okay?" before she fully disappeared. Luke heard what she muttered before starting to cry more than what he was. He knew (Y/n) had the dream of raising their daughter to age 18 but sadly, those dreams and others seemed to die with her.

Tomorrow there'll be more of us...
