Raven POV

"I feel stupid" I said as Kori zipped up the back of my dress.

"I asure you, you look gorgeous" Kori said.

"Are you sure, I'm still not completely sold on this dress, it's a little sparkly" I said.

"Yes, but knowing you, there isn't that much of the sparkle on it, you look stunning" she said turning around signaling me to zip her dress.

"I trust you, so I take your word for it" I said.

"Now I must do your makeup, sit" she said pushing my shoulders down so I was sitting on her bed.

"Why are we having this dance again, it's the last day of school, and the last some of us are gonna see each other for a while" I said.

"Which is why we are sending each other off with happiness, people have fun at these dances so that we will be making our last moments together the good moments" Kori said.

"I guess I understand" I said.

"Good, because this will also be your final chance with Garfield unless you see each other later in life" Kori said.

My face than started turning a deep shade of red at her comment.

"I did not even put the blush on you and somehow it is already on your face" Kori said with a giggle.

"Shut up, I just wanna get this over with" I said playfully.

And in no time at all she finished my makeup.

"I am finished" she said.

"Finally, we should probably head downstairs now since we're ready" I said.

"The pictures first, it is one of our last moments together, I would like to remember it" Kori said holding up her phone.

"OK fine, we're posting it after right" I said.

"Why would we not, we look amazing" Kori said.

"Now your turn" I said.

"Now we shall wait for our dates" Kori said guiding me downstairs.

Just as we reached downstairs the doorbell rang.

"That must be them" I said.

Kori and I both went to the door to open it only to see Garfield and Dick there all dressed up waiting outside.

"Wow" they said in unison.

"You look amazing Star" Dick said directed at Kori.

"Thank you Richard" Kori said a small blush coating her cheeks as she was guided out to the car.

"You're amazing- I mean look amazing, not that you don't look amazing everyday, but um, you look good" Garfield said a blushing stuttering mess which I only gave a soft chuckle and a small blush of my own.

"Thank you Garfield, Kori helped me get ready, now let's go" I said linking arms with him walking down to the car.

Garfield opened the door to the back seat for me signaling me to get in.

"Thanks" I said softly before getting in.

Dick drove while Kori sat next to him, I sat behind Dick and Garfield, Kori.

"I still can belive you said yes when I asked you to this dance" Garfield said taking my hand.

"Well your one of my best friends and, I'll admit you looked kinda cute when you asked, and I knew you be heartbroken if I said no, and uh...you kinda kissed me" I said blushing a little.

"Um uh sorry about that, I kinda did what I felt like in the moment he said

"You don't have to apologize, it was...it wasn't terrible" I said

"It wasn't?" he questioned.

"Not at all, it was one of the reasons I said yes" I said.

Garfield smiled at me before taking my hand and engaging in a comfortable silence between us.

When we got to the school we entered the dimly lit gym than was decorated with streamers and balloons, on the far wall there was a poster that said 'Have a nice summer' and one that said 'Congratulations Grade 12s' which only reminded me that we were all going to college in September.

Only minutes later a slow song came on.

"Looks like we got here at the right time, you wanna dance, Rae" Garfield asked with pleading eyesholding one hand out to me.

"I don't think we could start an end of year dance any other way than a dance with your date, I'd be happy to" I said taking his hand.

"Beautiful" he said twirling me before placing his hands on my waist and me placing mine on his shoulders.

We swayed slowly to the soft tune of the song looking at each other right in eyes not daring to look away.

"Raven" he said longingly.

"Yes Garfield" I answered.

"You know the real reason I asked you to this dance right, or the reason I kissed you" he said.

"Well kinda, you didn't really say" I said.

"It's because I...I really like you Raven, it would've been my last chance to get something from you before you went off to this amazing school for smart people like you" he said looking me in the eye.

"Funny...that's kinda like what Kori said to me, it would be my last chance with you before we went to college" I said.

"What" he said.

"I like you too, I was confused at first because I didn't know what I was feeling, but I know now, I really like you Garfield" I said blushing a bit with a small smile.

"Um Raven, you said the kiss I gave you wasn't that bad, mind if we do it again" he asked nervous but pulling me the slightest bit closer.

I looked at him noticing every little detail about his slightly aged face, his grown out hair, messy as always, his sparkling emerald green eyes, down to the little bit of stubble on his chin. I made my decision and grabbed his neck pulling him into my lips letting him know my answer to his question, he immediately knew what I was doing and snaked his hands a little tighter around my waist pulling me so close our bodies were touching. I pulled back from the kiss not letting our bodies come apart and smiled

"How's that answer your question" I said.

"Pretty good answer really" he chuckled.

"Oh and Garfield" I said.

"My whole summer is open if you wanna hang out and don't forget to call me during the school year" I said.

"Your serious" he asked not believing what he was hearing.

"Clear as day"

~Three Months later~

I heard my phone in ring in my pocket as I carried another box into my college dorm. I put the box down on my bed and picked up my phone reading the caller ID that said 'My little Beast💚' I gave a small chuckle knowing exactly who it was. I pressed the answer button on my phone and put it up to my ear.

"Hello" I said.

"Hey Rae" said Garfield through the phone.

"Hi Gar" I said smiling to myself.

"How's college life treating you so far" he asked.

"Well I'm only just moving into my dorm, but I have taken a good walk through the place to get the feel of it" I said.

"That's good, say, when are you next free" he asked.

"How about next weekend, what's your plan" I asked.

"Oh you'll see see soon enough, but your gonna love me even more than you already do when you see what it is" he said.

"Ooh, spontaneous, I like it, see you than" I said.

"See you, love you bye" he said.

"Love you too bye" I said hanging up the phone.
