Merlin x F!Reader: Remember? Part 2
(Y/N)'s POV
Morgana put me on her horse allowing me to ride with her. The sad expression on Merlin's face didn't seem to fade for a bit, before he smiled a little. We went off to see Gaius, Arthur kept us all at a steady pace, Morgana smiled at me in a comforting manner. I sat and looked ahead as we went towards Camelot. Arthur looked back at Merlin, looking confused about something. "You have been awfully silent, Merlin. You are starting to worry me." Arthur spoke to Merlin.
"Wait, so Merlin isn't always that quiet," I thought, "how much does he talk then." I didn't hear what Merlin had responded with, but as soon as I left my thoughts, I saw that we had made it to Camelot. There were guards outside the gate, they nodded as we passed. We enter the streets (idk if that's what they are called but go with it if not), as people had heard the horses' hooves, they look over curious. People were staring at me shocked, yet happy in a way. As we rode, I looked over to Merlin, who just smiled with encouragement. We get to the courtyard, Arthur and Merlin got off their horses, Merlin came over and helped me off of Morgana's horse. Morgana rolled her eyes and got off by herself.
(omg she a bit sassy... just kidding, unless...)
Morgana walked into the castle while Merlin, Arthur, and I stood there before we would head off to Gaius. I stuck close to Arthur, unsure of Merlin. Arthur smiled, "Stick with Merlin, (Y/N), I must tell father of the news." I nod and look towards Merlin. Arthur walked off the same direction in which Morgana had gone. Merlin smiles, "Let's get you to Gaius then." I nodded and followed Merlin to a tunnel like corridor, on the wall was a sign that pointed to the court physician.
(Timeskip to Gaius cleaning the injuries also brought to you by author just wanting to get the next chapter out as fast as one can)
I didn't focus as my injuries get cleaned and patched up.
Merlin's POV
Gaius looked toward me with a raised brow as to show he knew I wasn't telling him something. Gaius and I walk to the side, (Y/N) not paying any attention as to what was going on. "Gaius, she has no memories." I whispered. "It's rather odd, she has no trauma to her head to cause it, specifically what do you know that she doesn't remember?" Gaius asked. "Well, she doesn't remember me, I am basically just a stranger to her." I respond. "There's a chance it's something else, keep an eye on her, and if you figure out anything else she doesn't remember, tell me. I fear this may be more than it seems." Gaius spoke. "What are you talking about over there? I just want to get fully home," (Y/N) spoke up looking toward us.
(Y/N)'s POV
A few days later (because I can't figure out what to type for reasons).
Venelia handed me the dress over the divider (that might not be what it's called). "Thank you, Venelia." I thank her. "Are you going outside of the castle gate?" Venelia asked, I could hear the smile as she spoke. "I think so, why, do you want to come along?" I responded, peaking my head around the divide. Venelia smiled, "I would join you, but I have things that I need to do." I simply nodded, uncertain fully of where outside of the gate I would be going. But hey that's what will make this interesting!
I finished tossing the dress on, Venelia helping properly adjust the dress as needed. "Thank you, what would I do without you?" I spoke as she was about to get something. "Just the same I would imagine," she replied softly from where she was, picking up a cloak, "we don't want you to forget this now, would we?"
(Dang if this wasn't a Merlin x Reader thing, Venelia has chemistry with (Y/N).)
I laughed slightly, grabbing the cloak and putting it on, and went to the gates. I walked along a path (not really a path but oh well) that felt very familiar. I took in the scenery around me as I walked not noticing I made it to a field like area, looking at the floors at my feet, I smiled. My gaze fell upon a tree, the person I learnt was named Merlin seeming to have been resting there for a bit.
"Merlin, right? Or was it Marlin?" I asked jokingly. He jumped, looking at me with saddened eyes, "Merlin. What are you doing here?" He responded, his gaze soft. I sat down next to him, feeling comfortable in the field. "I felt that I needed to be here, it...feels oddly familiar," I mutter the last part. Merlin patted my shoulder.
We sat in silence for what felt like eternity, listening to birdsong and the slight breeze that was in the air.
*small timeskip cuz i am unsure fully of what I wanted to do there*
I carefully weaved flowers, just resting at the tree with Merlin. I don't notice Merlin looking over with a confused look as to what I was doing. Slowly coming to a finish on a flower crown, I smiled happily and turned to Merlin and placed it on his head. "There you go!" I spoke. Something about this felt right, and extremely familiar to me. Merlin smiled brightly, the colour of the flowers complimented his neckerchief quite well. I smiled and hugged Merlin, feeling him hug back ever so gently. I felt memories coming back, not saying anything, I don't let Merlin go.
I remembered my relationship with Merlin and just how close we were. I looked up at him, I must have been crying because he quickly reacted wiping away any tears. "What's wrong, (Y/N)?" He asked concern laced his tone. "I remember how we used to come here, me to escape the royal life at least for a bit, and I still have no clue why" I laughed. He looked at me shocked and asked, "is that all?" I shook my head, "we were best friends, and I-."
Merlin smiled and hugged me tightly, "you remembered right." I looked at him, saw the happiness in his eyes. There was one thing that I left out, and that's how I truly felt about him. "Honestly you look so odd with that flower crown," I commented. "Well you're the one that put it on my head," he responded laughing.
"Merlin, you wouldn't mind if I did something real quick?" I asked him, a sudden burst of courage and confidence came to me. "Sure," he responded. "Great close your eyes," I smiled at him. He did so, I leaned in, placing a kiss on his cheek, "I love you, Merlin." It came out almost as a whisper. As soon as it came out, Merlin smiled, placing a sweet kiss upon my lips, "I love you too, (Y/N)." I cuddled up to him, "does this mean we are courting now?" I asked. "If that's what you want." Merlin replied.
"It is."
(A/N): should I continue this and make a part three of it, also this is the most that I have ever typed for almost anything, but on here it's my first typing that much for.
