03. leftovers
Theodora combed through the knots of her raven black hair, satisfied with the fact that it gleamed against the right amount of light. Perhaps Inverse hadn't treated her so bad, it was a pity that she was one to hold grudges.
Morwenna came out to join her in the living room with her towel draped over her hair. It looked quite cute actually, Theodora thought to herself.
"You want the dryer?" Theodora asked, before scooting over on the sofa.
"Sure," Morwenna responded, taking Theodora's seat. She turned on the hairdryer, and they both sat in silence.
Morwenna didn't take long, and soon she was putting the dryer away.
"Do you have any makeup around?" Theodora questioned, trying to clear the dead air.
"Well, they're nowhere near as good as your old ones-" Morwenna started.
"It's okay. It's not your fault." Theodora gave the girl a small smile. "Mind if I use them tomorrow?"
"Oh, of course, they're in my bedroom," Morwenna answered quickly. "You know you have access to anything in this house."
"Thanks, Wen. I appreciate it." Theodora smiled sincerely. "What's for dinner?"
"Oh, well, some leftover pizza from yesterday. I hope you don't mind." Morwenna blushed in shame.
"Wen, it's okay. I understand. I'll kick Jack if he continues this." Theodora stated angrily.
"No, it's okay, Dora. Really." Morwenna looked like a puppy when she said this.
"Wenna, you know you can tell me things." Theodora scooted closer to her on the sofa.
Morwenna forced a smile on her face. "Really, Dora, I'm okay. I'll let you know if there are any problems, okay?"
"Okay then," Theodora replied. "I'll go heat the pizza." She got up from the sofa and went into the kitchen. Upon stepping into the kitchen, she removed the pizza from the fridge.
"Not the best choice for my return, but it'll do," Theodora commented before she popped the pizza in the microwave. She tapped her fingers against the countertop from time to time until the pizza was ready. She grabbed the plate with some oven gloves and took to take out the pizza to the dining table.
"Wen, the pizza's ready!" Theodora called out. She hungrily grabbed a slice of pizza and stuffed the entire slice in her mouth.
Way better than hamburgers that were a day old flipped over on the floor.
Morwenna came to join her at the dining table. She reached for a slice of pizza, but she saw how fast Theodora was consuming them and stopped herself.
"I'm really not that hungry, you can have it all, Dora," Morwenna told her.
"No, Wen, this is your dinner, not mine," Theodora replied, stretching. "I'm full now."
"Dora, it's okay, I'm honestly not that hungry," Morwenna protested.
"Wenna, I'm the one who's been wasting your warm water, using your electricity and eating your food. You are not in the position to argue with me on this." Theodora answered firmly. "Eat your pizza."
"If you're sure," Morwenna murmured softly. She knew it would unwise to argue with Theodora. Theodora rarely lost the argument.
"Yes, eat up," Theodora replied, wiping her mouth with a tissue. "If you'll excuse me, I'm going to brush my teeth and call it a night."
"Okay, Dora." Morwenna stuttered, chewing on her pizza slowly.
It didn't take long for Theodora to emerge from the bathroom. "Good night, Wen." She called out, before heading towards the couch and falling fast asleep. She couldn't help that Morwenna's sofa was so comfy and much more pleasant than any stone floor in Inverse.

Morwenna finished her pizza and put her plate in the sink. She'd wash it later, but right now, she just wanted to watch Theodora sleep. She'd always looked up to the older girl, and now she felt like she was in heaven to have her idol sleeping in her sofa.
"Good night, Dora," Morwenna whispered softly, before taking a seat next to the sofa. Theodora mumbled something and Morwenna's eyes shot open in fear that she had disrupted the girl's sleep.
Fortunately for Morwenna, Theodora stirred a little but made no indication that she was aware Morwenna was by her side. Morwenna let out a small sigh of relief and stood up to wash the dishes.
Morwenna hummed to herself softly, reminding herself from time to time that Theodora was asleep, and she knew that Theodora wouldn't be pleased if her sleep was interrupted.
Morwenna leaned against the kitchen counter and tapped her phone against her fingertips. She was waiting for Anthony to call her. She wondered why he had specified that Theodora had to be asleep before he made the call.
"Tony, she's asleep," Morwenna typed out, before hitting send uncertainly.
A few seconds later, Anthony replied. "Are you alone?"
"Yes." Morwenna typed back.
Morwenna's phone chirped softly and she turned it down immediately before she answered Anthony.
"Morwenna, today was my first time meeting Theodora, and it seemed like she and Jack had a feud going on. Now, I don't know their complete history, but it seems rocky, and tomorrow, I suspect things are going to go downhill." Anthony started.
Morwenna nodded in agreement. "Theodora's always been fiery to people that obstruct her, and Jack's always been fighting to keep a good relationship with Inka."
"I thought so." Anthony speculated. Morwenna could hear him strumming his fingers against the countertop. "I think we should talk to both of them. I can take Jack, and maybe you can take Theodora?"
"Okay," Morwenna whispered softly. "Theodora is a great person, she just has a low tolerance for those that disrupt her or stand in her way of things."
"I think that description fits both Jack and Theodora." Anthony let out a low chuckle.
Morwenna laughed softly, doing her best refrain from to waking Theodora. "Now that you say it, I think I agree with you."
"Well, I think we should call it a night," Anthony replied. "I'll talk to you in the morning?"
"Sure," Morwenna whispered softly. Anthony cut the call and Morwenna leaned back on the countertop.
"Oh, Theodora, what am I going to do with you?"
