At Kenisha's House

Kenisha: So Dahlia how do you feel now that your mother is home.

Dahlia: To be honest my emotions are all over the place.

Diamond: Why honey?

Dahlia: What do you mean why? You left me talking about that it was for both of our benefits when in actuality I believe that you were only thinking about yourself. Then you left me in the hands of Kenisha and your sister do you know what I've had to go through with them? I got all these people around me who claim they love me and I know they don't. I'm sick and tired of being hurt and confused and stressed out. While I was enduring all of this you were off having the time of your life.

Kenisha: ok young lady that's enough don't talk to your mother like that.

Diamond: No Kenisha I actually want to hear this. (she looked at me) Continue.

Dahlia: Can we just finish eating because there is no telling how long you are going to be here and I don't want to spend our few days together arguing. I want to at least have good memories.

Diamond: Why are you acting like this. Dahlia I came to get you. I was making bad choices and I did't want you to be around me at that point and time.

Dahlia: Wait so you want me to go back with you and just forget my life here.

Diamond: Ok you're upset that I didn't want you now your upset that I want you to come with me I don't understand.

Dahlia: (I got up from the table) I'm just going to go for a walk I can't right now. I just need a minute to think about some things.

(I left while Dahlia and Kenisha kept taking)

Kenisha: Do you see what you left us with?

Diamond: Why do y'all keep talking about her as if she is a brat. Don't you see why she act the way that she act?

Kenisha: Uh, no i do not.

Diamond: She's hurt

Kenisha: How do you figure that?

Diamond: Because when she was talking I could see myself in her but the difference between me and her is that she won't end up making the same mistakes I made. I never had a person to talk to me and encourage me. Though I may be the reason Dahlia has faced this pain I want to be able to help her become all that she hopes to be.

Kenisha: Come on Diamond the girl is smart and beautiful but there is no hope for her.

Diamond: And why not?

Kenisha:The odds are against her

Diamond: Have you said that to her

Kenisha: Yes

Diamond: you're wrong. (She gets up) If you'd excuse me I'm going to find my daughter.

In The Park

Dahlia: God I know that I don't really talk to you  much unless I need something. But Please know that I am grateful for everything that you give me. Listen I'm not asking for anything extravagant I just want happiness and peace of mind. I just want my dreams to come true because my dreams are all that I have.

(Diamond walked in and sat down on the bench)

Dahlia: What do you want?

Diamond: Ok let me tell you something that me and you both already know. Life is unfair. However you cannot do what I did. I became bitter and mad at the whole world blaming them for my issues and that's how I ended up where I was in life. Doing things I had no business doing. I know it's hard especially with you feeling as if no one understands and you can't really talk to any one. Yes I messed up I'm sorry but if you'll just come with me and give me a second chance I promise that you'll be happy and I'll be happy knowing that you are ok.

Dahlia: You know I don't want your money.

Diamond: Listen this isn't me trying to buy your love, I want to earn it.

(We both hugged)

Dahlia's voice: Believe it or not that day I got exactly what I wanted. I went back with my mother and started a new life. It wasn't your perfect happily ever after because life is not a fairytale. I still face obstacles and still experience pain yet in the end its all worth in when you have a dream you are trying to reach and you have someone by your side that is willing to actually earn your love. When I think about it life was never in my way. I was in my own way. No matter how hard life gets we should continue to love and dream because those are the true prizes of life.
