Blood Sweat & Tears

My head throbbed, my wrist hurt and I could feel a very sharp pain in my rib cage. I was still laying on the ground, the bot walking slowly towards me, his gun cocked. I sat up slowly, hissing at the pain in my ribs. I felt something warm trailing down the side of my face and lifted up my good arm to touch it. I scrunched my face up as my eyes met the crimson colored liquid, but quickly wiped it on my shirt and looked back to the bot. He was still walking towards me, so I got up quickly, ignoring the pain in my ribs, and began running again only for my trembling legs to give out on me as I rounded the corner. I let out a pained cry as I landed on my already injured wrist and flipped myself over to look at the robot. He was still stalking towards me. I stared at him before scrambling backwards to try and get away from him. As he got closer to me, he armed his gun and aimed it at me. My eyes widened in fear and the tears streamed down my face. My heart felt like it was ready to burst from my chest.

Suddenly, another shot sounded and the robot in front of me stumbled backwards but quickly recovered and aimed his gun at something behind me. I was far too frightened to even turn around. Three more shots sounded and the robot stumbled again, this time escaping through the giant hole in the wall. I watched as he retreated, the fear still coursing through my body.

I felt something cold touch my back, and I jumped back, startled. I turned around to see Bumblebee staring at me, a dismal and angry expression etched into his features. I sighed in relief and looked down at my blood covered hands.

"Thank you," I croaked out.

I wiped my eyes with my sleeve and slowly tried to stand up, using my good arm as leverage, but my legs trembled yet again and I fell forward, only to be caught by Bee's finger. Without warning, he scooped me up in his hand and began walking towards the hangar. He entered through the doorway and walked towards my dad, Will, Josh, Epps, and five of the Autobots. I wondered where the rest of them were. My dad and Uncle Josh were pacing around while Epps and Will were speaking to Skids, Mudflap, Jolt, Sunstreaker, and Crosshairs. The sound of Bee's footsteps caught my dad and Joshua's attention. They took no time in running over to me.

"Rosalie!" my dad exclaimed in a relieved tone.

Bee set me down on the ground and I sat there. My dad rushed over to my side and engulfed me in a tight hug. I whimpered when he squeezed my ribs, causing him to jump back. He stared at me and then at the blood on my face.

"Are you okay, Rose?" Uncle Josh asked, kneeling down to my level.

I just nodded. They didn't need to worry about me. They gave me weird looks.

"Don't let her lie to you," I heard a voice from above me say.

I sighed.

Damn you, Bumblebee.

"I mean it's pretty obvious that you're not. You've got a huge gash in your head that's bleeding, and you're clutching your wrist as if it may fall off, Rosalie," Uncle Josh said.

I looked down to see my right hand wrapped tightly around my left wrist. I quickly ripped it away, leaving a bloody hand print on my arm.

"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," I told them, going to stand up.

Thankfully, I didn't fall down this time. I began walking towards the Hangar door when someone grabbed me. I screamed out in pain as they roughly pulled me back, but they quickly released me. I clutched my rib cage and tried to catch my breath.

"Rosalie, tell us what's wrong," my dad said.

"I said I'm fine. I'll heal, just stop worrying about me, please," I said rather bitterly.

I heard him sigh.

"Where's the other Autobots?" I asked.

My dad was about to speak when the Hangar doors burst open. I looked and saw Sideswipe, Hound and Drift walking in with three very frightened teenagers in each of their hands. They lowered them onto the ground. I turned back to my dad.

"That still doesn't explain where Topspin and Roadbuster are," I said.

"They were sent out to scan the area. They should be returning soon," he explained to me.

I nodded and turned back to where Gracie, Lynleigh and Jason stood. Gracie noticed me and ran over while Lynleigh and Jason followed behind her.

"What happened to you? Are you okay?" she asked me.

I rolled my eyes. It was nice that everyone was so concerned but it was also annoying. I hated being the center of attention.

"Yes, I'm fine."

"But, you're bleeding," Lynleigh said.

"I'm well aware of that," I told her.

"Well, what happened?" Jason pestered.

I was getting annoyed with everyone questioning my condition.

"I almost died, okay? An evil robot tried to kill me, but Bumblebee saved me before he could. Are you happy now? That's what happened. I sprained my wrist, cracked a rib and busted my head open. It's no big deal, okay? I'll heal. Now, just please stop questioning me," I yelled, catching everyone's attention.

Great.

Jason shifted backwards, slightly offended by my outburst.

"I just want to go to sleep."

"Not until you get fixed up," I heard Will tell me.

I groaned. It was like ten at night and I was almost just murdered by a psychotic robot. The least they could do is let me go to sleep.

"Can't I just do it tomorrow?" I asked.

He shook his head at me and grabbed my good arm, leading me out the Hangar door. We walked for a few minutes before coming to a room. He opened the door to reveal a white room. A brown haired woman was sitting at a computer desk, clearly not effected by the events that had just taken place. She took notice of our arrival and smiled at us.

"What can I do for you, Colonel Lennox?" she asked sweetly while getting up out of her chair.

Will led me over to the small cot in the middle of the room. I lifted myself onto it and sat down.

"I need you to fix her up, Penelope. She's got a few cracked ribs, a sprained wrist and a gash in her head. It shouldn't take that long. They aren't very major," he said to her.

She nodded in understanding and he left the room. She turned to me and smiled before getting up and walking over to me.

"Wow, you must've taken a hard fall," she said. I smiled weakly.

"Something like that," I responded.

She put on some gloves before holding up my injured wrist. I winced when she squeezed it.

"Well, let's get you fixed up," she said and began working on my injuries.

An hour and fifteen minutes later, I was all patched up and wrapped up. Penelope had done a superb job on my injuries and I actually felt a lot better. She wrapped up my ribs and gave me a removable splint for my wrist and cleaned up the wound on my head. She had given me some pain pills for my ribs and my wrist before releasing me.

"Okay, you're free to go," she said happily.

I thanked her and walked out of the clinic door. I jumped as a saw Will leaning against the wall.

"Have you been there the whole time?" I asked him.

He laughed.

"No, Penelope paged me about ten minutes ago," he said as we started walking down the hall.

"So, why did that robot attack the base earlier?" I asked him.

"I'm not really sure. But, it was more than one. That one in particular just happened to spot you at the wrong time," he told me.

That was one of the scariest experiences I've had in my lifetime. Thank God for Bumblebee. It's just another thing I can't repay him for. I sighed as I thought about it. The rest of the walk back to the Hangar was silent. When we walked through the massive doorway, the Autobots were all sitting around talking to each other.

"Where is everyone at?" I asked no one in particular.

"The rest of them decided to go up to bed as it is particularly late," Jolt told me.

I nodded and turned to look at Bumblebee who was sitting alone in the corner, looking down at the ground. Confused, I looked back at the Autobots. I caught Drift's attention. I motioned questioningly towards Bumblebee. He looked over at the mech then back to me. He only shrugged and I sighed.

"Well, I think I'm going to go to bed. Bumblebee," I started.

The yellow bot looked at me with a glum expression.

"Are you coming with me?" I asked softly.

He didn't answer. He just got up and stomped out the Hangar doors.

"Good luck with him. He's been that way for over an hour," Sideswipe said.

"Thanks. Goodnight guys. Goodnight Will," I told them as I walked out the doors of the Hangar.

Bumblebee was far ahead of me, and I ran to catch up to him, hurting my ribs in the process.

"Bumblebee," I said.

He glanced down at me before transforming into his alt mode and rolling into the freight elevator. The doors quickly closed, stopping me from getting in. I felt a pang of hurt from his disregard and made my way towards the stairs. Each step caused my injured ribs to protest. To say I was in pain was an understatement. I had already started crying by the seventh step. These pain pills weren't working for me so far. It took me three minutes to get up to the second floor and to my room. I figured it would be destroyed up here, but it was perfectly fine. I clutched my ribs and opened the door to my room and walked in. Gracie was fast asleep in bed and Bumblebee sat in the corner of the room. His bright blue optics met my eyes. I looked away from him quickly and wiped my eyes before heading over to my bag that was laying on the TV stand.

I unzipped it and grabbed a bra, a pair of underwear, black sweatpants and a grey shirt. I took off my jacket and lifted up my bloody shirt to unwrap the bandages around my torso. Penelope had taught me how to unwrap and rewrap my ribs so I could bathe. I accidentally jerked myself as I unwrapped my ribcage, causing a whimper to escape my mouth and more tears to well up in my eyes. I took a deep breath and finished unwrapping them, throwing the bandages onto the TV stand. I removed my wrist splint as well and tossed it with my other bandages.

I grabbed my clothes and tried as best as I could to carry them in my one good hand, but failed when I dropped my sweatpants on the floor. I sighed in despair and went to go pick them up. A pain shot through my body as I bent down. I instantly stood back up, wiping away the tears that had fallen. A metal hand grabbed the sweatpants and held them down to me. I looked up at Bumblebee who had an unreadable expression on his face. I gave him a weak smile and took the sweatpants from his fingers.

I trudged over to the bathroom door and shut it. I turned on the water and carefully peeled off my clothes before stepping into the shower. After washing my hair and my body, I got out and dried myself off. I put on my night clothes and walked out of the bathroom and to the TV stand. I grabbed my bandages and begin to wrap them around my torso. After doing so, I put the splint back on my left wrist and made my way over to the queen sized bed.

Bumblebee sat in the corner beside my bed. He watched me as I carefully climbed under the sheets. Once I got comfortable, I turned to look at him.

"What's wrong with you?" I asked him.

He whirred sadly and looked down, not answering me.

"Answer me, please."

"I thought I almost lost you-today-Rosalie," he told me.

I looked at him.

"Oh," was all I could say.

"I was afraid. When I heard you-scream-I immediately went to look for you. Had I shown up-seconds later-I would have," he told me through different radio stations.

His optics were dim.

"But you didn't. I'm fine and I'm very thankful for you saving me," I replied.

He just looked down.

"But, it's just another thing I have to repay you for," I mumbled.

He heard me and shot up to look at me.

"You're delusional," he told me.

"Not yet, but I will be after I overdose on these pain pills," I said taking the bottle of pills out of my sweatpants pocket.

He grabbed them from me and lightly tossed them across the room. I heard them clatter as they hit the floor. I groaned.

"You're mean."

"I'm only trying to protect you," he said.

I chuckled.

They were only pills.

"From pills?" I joked.

He raised his brow plate at me.

"Go to sleep-Rose," he told me.

I laughed again.

"You don't have to tell me twice. Goodnight, Bumblebee and thank you," I said while wrapping the covers around my body.

"Goodnight-Rosalie," his radio said quietly.

I smiled and snuggled into the large bed. I closed my eyes and before I knew it, I was off to sleep.
