CHAPTER FOUR!

          "Yeah, no way. I'm sorry, but we've tried to work together multiple times and this just isn't going to work," Jace says talking the man sitting at the head of the conference table. The two bands nod in agreement. 

          "You guys are the two biggest bands at the moment. Both of you guys will gain fans and publicity if you guys do a single together," the producer says looking Jace straight in the eyes.

          "If you think we need more publicity you'd be wrong," Elliot says speaking up.

          "Excuse me, but what if we put Renegade and Euphoria up against each other?" A quiet intern says from the corner of the table. 

          The producer leans back in his chair, "I don't know what you mean, but it won't work."

         "Sir, please just listen to someone's ideas for once. You aren't the only one with ideas," The intern says speaking up.

         "But–"

         "No, I'm going to talk because I think that this is going to work. What if we send them on a world tour where they play shows together. Have them play separately, have them do sing-offs, have them compete against each other. Take fan votes, do a bunch of press, have a bunch of games where they compete each other. Both of these bands thrive off of each other's competition so why don't we use that to our advantage."

         The room goes silent as the intern looks around hopefully, no one shows any reaction until the producer speaks, "Sophia, I'm really sorry I doubted your ideas but I think you're onto something."

          Jace rolls his eyes at the statement he gestures towards the members of Euphoria as he speaks, "If you expect me to get on stage with any of them, you're dead wrong."

         Bryant catches Jace's gaze and he smiled mischievously at the boy before speaking, "I think it's a great idea!"

          Jace rolls his eyes at the boy. Ryan looks at Jace hopefully before speaking, "I'm also down."

           "Okay, who wants to do this?" The producer says asking the two bands, "I know we're not in school but raise your hands."

          The teenagers laugh at the comment as all of them, except for Jace, raise their hands. Jace rolls his eyes once again. "Fine," he says in defeat, "I'm clearly outnumbered. When do we start?"

          "That's it my boy," Bryant says reaching over to give Jace a high-five. Jace surprises a blush as he reluctantly high-fives the boy. He tries to ignore the feeling of his stomach tumbling. 

          "Okay, I'm going to make some calls and try to get arenas and press figured out. I'll get people hired and all that fun stuff and we'll meet again in two weeks to talk about setlists and visuals. I'll send all of you guys an email later next week with a date. I'll see everyone then! Thank you for cooperation. Especially you Jace," The producer says winking at the boy. 

          As the people in the meeting grab their stuff, Bryant approaches Jace. "Thanks for agreeing to do this. I think you'll have more fun than you think you will."

          Jace sends a small smile at the boy before going back to his resting-bitch-face and walking stubbornly out the door. Bryant smiles at the interaction before following the boy out and waiting for his fellow bandmates.
