Part 4
Pragya, Saritaji and Sahana were taking their leave from the members of Kohli family.
"Let's keep all the functions here as everything is to be done as fast as possible." Daljeet suggested.
"As you say, auntyji." Pragya acquiesced.
Sahana, who was looking around, spotted Prachi and Ranbir before anyone else. Ranbir , who had helped her down the stairs by holding her hand, had still not let go of Prachi's hand. Sahana grinned cheekily at them, gesturing at their joined hands and wiggling her eyebrows teasingly. Prachi and Ranbir immediately let of each other's hand and made their way towards the others.
After bidding farewells, Prachi began to leave with her family. While walking away, Prachi absentmindedly flicked a glance at a nearby mirror and then looked back again. What she saw fortified the fledgling hope in her heart to which Ranbir's earlier display of concern had given life. Ranbir, unaware of his reflection in the mirror, was looking at Prachi and his eyes displayed the same boundless love and affection that was reserved just for her. She couldn't refrain from smiling happily. So, he was angry with her but the love was still there. She would try her best to placate him. Making her mind up, she made her way out of the mansion.

Ranbir's room
Ranbir was lying on her back and was staring at the ceiling, engrossed in his own musings when his phone beeped with an incoming message. Frowning, he picked his phone up and opened the message. It was from Prachi. There was no text. Just two lines of scarlet hearts. Involuntarily, Ranbir's lips twitched. He pressed his lips together to stop the smile from breaking out. Then he thumbed two lines of angry emojis in reply and sent it.

Prachi's room
Prachi was lying on her stomach. Her head was turned towards the left where her phone was lying beside the pillow and she was twirling a silky lock of hair as she waited for his reply. Suddenly, the phone beeped with an incoming message which had her jumping up and reaching for the phone. Prachi grinned seeing his message which was reflecting his current mood. She thought for a second and then, smiling mischievously, typed two lines of crying emoji.

Ranbir's room
As expected, Ranbir melted seeing the tearful emojis. He sighed in frustration at his inability to hold onto anger when it came to her. However, determined to not give in to her silent pleas just yet, he began typing his reply.

Prachi's room
Prachi was eagerly waiting for his reply when the much awaited reply finally appeared on her screen. She laughed out loud seeing the message.
He had written –
Emotional blackmailing is not gonna work
And followed it with grumpy emojis.
Prachi's laughter subsided into giggles and finally faded into a soft smile. Inspite of his words, she knew his anger had abated as was evident from the grumpy emojis instead of furious ones. Prachi began to type her reply.

Ranbir's room
Ranbir's lips curved into a slight smile as a new message popped up on his screen.
Got it. Then let me make amends properly. Come to the Blue Moon Café at 8 in the morning tomorrow.
He began to type his reply.

Prachi's room
Prachi giggled as her beloved's reply popped up on her screen.
I am not going to come
Shaking her head in amusement over his reluctance to give in, Prachi typed her reply.

Ranbir's room
Ranbir rolled his eyes at the new message that popped up on his screen.
Thank you. I knew you would agree. I will be waiting. Don't be late. Now sleep. Goodnight. Sweet dreams.
Frowning, he typed and sent his reply. Then, placed the phone on the bedside table and laid down on the bed.

Prachi's room
Prachi burst into fits of giggle seeing the message that appeared on her screen. Her prince charming was really one in a million. She looked down again on the message, still grinning.
Bad night. Horrible and terrifying dreams.
Prachi laid down on her bed, a soft smile was still lingering on her lips. Her dreams could never be horrible or terrifying as long as she knew she had him with her. Both of them had had their shares of nightmares but now it was time for sweet dreams again.

The clock had just struck eight when Ranbir sauntered into the Blue Moon Café. As soon as he entered, a man approached him and handed over a card to him. Before he could ask anything, the man strode away. Bemused, he looked down into the card. It read –
Come to the backyard. J
Frowning, he walked towards the glass door at the far end of the café which led to the backyards, all the time wondering what she was up to.
As he opened the door and stepped into garden at the back of the café, his frown cleared instantly. A look of wonder lit his features from within. With astonished eyes, he took in the surrounding. The ground carpeted with lush, green grass was covered with red and white balloons. Placards bearing the word sorry were hanging from the branches of the trees that surrounded the area and in middle of the ground was a table covered with white drapery which housed a cake of his favourite flavor.
His lips curved into a soft smile out of their own volition. He moved through the balloons, stopping once or twice to pick a balloon up and throw it in the air playfully. As he came to a halt in front of the table, his gaze fall on the single word written on the surface of the cake with his favourite icing.
Sorry
There was another card beside the cake. Ranbir picked it up. It read –
My Baklu
I am really, really sorry for hurting you. You don't know how much it hurt me to hurt you. I had died thousand deaths while breaking your heart. It broke mine too. And when you took off the first makeshift ring that I made you wear and burnt all our pictures together which were not just mere pictures but cherished and precious memories, it burnt me too. I wanted to tell you how much I love you but couldn't do so. Will you forgive me for hurting you? My life had become colourless when you were no longer there in it. The colours, the happiness have returned again and I don't want them to fade away yet again. Please forgive me. If you cut the cake then I will know that you have forgiven me.
Your Chikchiki
Ranbir sighed as he finished reading. He could never stay angry with her for a long time, could he? She always found out a way to mellow him down. The words in the card reflected the agony that the foolish girl went through herself in her attempt to distance herself from him. It was her pain, the agony she had suffered that made his heart clench in pain, not even remembering the pain he had gone through himself. He picked up the knife lying beside the cake and sliced a small, soft piece off. Then he looked up and there she was, standing beside the tree which was exactly opposite to him with a watery smile.
Let's leave it here. ;)
Hope you all like it.
