Everything and Nothing

Sitting and waiting. It's pure torture and excruciatingly boring. I sat in a rusty chair reading a random magazine that I found sitting on the table. We had arrived in Chicago about three and a half hours ago and at the moment we were hiding out in some old abandoned warehouse. I hadn't properly showered or groomed myself in twenty four hours, not to mention I was starving and very, very frustrated. Groaning, I slammed the old magazine down onto the table and looked towards Optimus and Bee. Drift had taken my dad, Gracie, and Jason to pick up a few things, while Crosshairs and Hound had tagged along for protection in case something were to go wrong. I on the other hand had decided to be lazy and stay behind, so these two decided to stay with me.
The two Autobots looked over at me curiously as the warehouse doors slammed open. My dad, Gracie, and Jason walked in carrying large bags filled with different items. I stared at them, dumbfounded.
"What'd you guys do? Rob the state of California?" I asked staring at the three huge bags in each of their hands.
Jason rolled his eyes at me and sat down across from me.
"Where's Drift, Crosshairs, and Hound at?" I asked them.
"They're outside keeping watch," my dad answered me.
I shook my head as I watched Gracie dump the remnants of her bag onto the table, my dad and Jason following her actions shortly afterwards. Shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, clothing, and several different varieties of food fell onto the table. Without hesitating, I reached out and grabbed the ham and cheese sub sandwich, ripping the wrapper open and shoving it into my mouth. I looked up as I felt several pairs of eyes on me.
"What? You throw food down onto the table and you expect me not to grab it? Have you met me?" I asked shoving the sub back into my mouth and taking a large bite out of it. "And plus I haven't eaten in like twenty four hours and hiding from the government is hard work. Cut me some slack here," I said, a slight bitterness in my voice.
I hadn't even bothered to swallow my food before speaking. My dad sighed, shaking his head at me and sat down while Gracie hopped on the table after grabbing a small packet of crackers.
"You're so rude," Gracie told me as she opened up the pack and placed a cracker inside of her mouth.
I discreetly flicked her off, earning a really dirty look from her, and propped my legs up onto the table and leaning back in my chair before taking another bite of my sandwich.
"Oh yeah. Rose, these are yours," Jason told me, but before I could look to see what he was talking about, a hard fabric hit me right in the face.
Not expecting it, I lost my balance in the chair and flipped backwards, landing on the hard warehouse floor, involuntarily tossing my unfinished sub towards the two Autobots in the process. The sound of mechanical laughter filled my ears as I tried to catch my breath. I stood up and glared at Jason who was smirking at me. I slammed my hand down onto the table and got in Jason's face.
"Oh, you think you're funny? That hurt," I said through my teeth as the laughter continued.
I looked over to see that it was coming from Bee. Optimus sat in the corner with a very amused look on his face. I turned back to my idiot brother who had picked up several pieces of fabric off of the table.
"Yeah, actually I do. He seemed to think so too," he laughed, gesturing toward the yellow bot in the corner.
I groaned and walked over to pick up my sandwich, which had landed just beside Bee's foot. I picked up the sandwich to see if any damage had been done to it. When I looked over it and found no trace of damage or dust anywhere, I raised it up to my mouth to take a bite, but was interrupted by my father's voice.
"Please don't eat that."
Him and Gracie gave me disgusted looks while Jason shook his head at me, still smirking. That little shithead.
"Why not? There's nothing wrong with it," I spoke plainly, bringing it back towards my mouth only to have it ripped out of my hands by a certain yellow robot.
I turned to glare at the yellow bot who had just tossed my sandwich clean across the building.
"BEE! What was that for?" I asked, only slightly annoyed with him.
"You better listen," a voice from his radio belted out as he looked down on me.
I mumbled a whatever and walked back to the table. I sat back down in my chair and noticed that Jason still had my face fabric in his hands.
"What are they anyway?" I asked him pointing the the bundled up clothes.
"Jeans, a jacket, a tank top, and some underwear," he said chuckling, this time lightly tossing me a pair of white jeans, a light blue under jacket, a black tank top and a pair of pink lace underwear.
"What? No bra?" I asked looking him in the eye.
He stifled a laughter. Gosh, he's so immature. I rolled my eyes at him and stood up to look around the building. I was getting very frustrated with this shit.
"Is there like a water spicket or something somewhere? I feel really gross right now and it's actually kind of pissing me off," I asked no one in particular.
"Well, on our way back I noticed that there was some sort of changing area by the lake. I'm sure they have showers in there, but it's quite a few miles away," Gracie told me.
I sighed, picked up my clothes and walked towards the door.
"Wait, do you need anyone to come with you?" my father asked. I shook my head at him, but he continued. "Crosshairs, Drift, and Hou--," I threw my hand up to stop him and turned towards Bumblebee.
"Bee, would you mind taking me?" I asked the yellow bot who was still sitting in his spot in the corner.
He gave me a quick nod before standing up and walking towards me. Wow. This place was a lot bigger than I had thought. The all too familiar sound of clicking and scraping caught my attention and I turned to see that Bee had transformed into his alt mode.
I climbed into the passenger's side and close the door. Bee revved his engine before slowly pulling out of the warehouse doors. We made our way past the three Autobots stationed outside of the building and continued down the street. After about five minutes of driving, Bee pulled up outside of a large building. The sign in front read 'Lake Michigan Locker Room and Changing Area'. I hopped out of the car and patted Bee on the hood.
"I won't be long, Bee," I said to the black and yellow Camaro.
He responded with a series of whirs and clicks. I smiled and made my way toward the locker room doors, which were, thankfully, still unlocked although it was after dark already.
I made my way throughout the locker room, stopping when I finally came to a shower stall. I stripped off all of my old clothes and my boots and then turned on the shower. I washed every inch of my body before washing my hair, which had become slightly greasy from the lack of care. I turned off the shower and stepped out of the stall, thankfully finding two folded towels on top of the sink. I wrapped my hair in one, before drying off with the other. After putting my new clothes on and putting my boots back on, I grabbed everything else and made my way back out to Bee who was parked at the curb. As I approached Bee, the passengers side door opened for me.
"Thanks, Bee," I said to him as I got into the car.
He whirred a response and pulled onto the road. I took out the brush I had brought with me and began to brush out my damp hair. Instead of putting it up, I decided just to let it dry naturally. I noticed that we weren't back at the warehouse yet, although we should've been about five minutes ago. I looked at the empty streets in confusion before turning back to Bumblebee.
"Where are we? The warehouse is back the other way." I asked him as he pulled onto some secluded dirt road.
"We gotta talk-little lady," his radio whirred.
I groaned as the car came to a stop. I just leaned my back against the door. What could he possibly want to talk to me about?
"What's wrong-with you-Rosalie?" he asked me.
"Why do you think there's something wrong me?" I responded back to him.
"I can sense-your-emotional levels- and your eyes-give you away," he said.
I sighed. Honestly, I always thought that I was nearly impossible to read, but I guess when you're around a bunch of advanced alien robots anything is possible.
"Oh," I responded.
"Go on. Tell me," Bee kindly demanded.
I sighed before turning in my seat.
"Everything is wrong. It's so complicated, Bee. Ever since my mom died, nothing has ever really been normal in my life, and this, this is just the icing on the cake. My dad brings home a truck thinking he can use the parts to get money, but little does he know it's a giant alien robot," I laughed at the thought.
"The next thing you know, I've got a team of murderous government agents on my doorstep, my dad's childhood best friend gets blown up, and now my family, my best friend and I are hiding from the government with five wanted Autobots. My entire life has been changed because of one mistake. It's so hard to adjust to. Plus, after all of this is over, if I'm still alive that is, I'll have nothing to go back to. Lockdown blew up our house and all of my dad's work. Not to mention, we're also broke and we'll have no way to support ourselves anymore," I said hugging my knees to my chest.
Bee continued to listen.
"Everyone tells me I'm one of the strongest people they've ever met, and it's true. I am strong. I have to be, but this is just too much for me to handle. I'm just so scared, Bee," I finished, leaning my head up against the door.
"Everything-is going to be okay. You're brave. You've got a lot of-courage. Not to mention-you have some-spunk--," I quietly laughed at this before he continued. "--I can see it in you. You just gotta-keep believin'. I promise that I'll never let anything happen to you. We'd never-let anything happen to you-or-your family. You have to stay strong-Rose. Can you-promise me-that?" Bee asked me through a series of radio stations and channels.
I sniffed.
"I promise, Bee," I responded.
I moved my knees away from my chest and sat back into my seat.
"Good. So-what do ya say-we get goin'?" Bee asked revving his engine.
I laughed at the bot, the seat belt tightening around my torso.
"Let's go," I told him and in seconds we were speeding off down the street.
*This one is short, but that's because it's a filler chapter. I'm trying to better develop Rose and Bee's friendship and I thought that this would be a good way to do that. Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
