WAYNE MANOR, EVENING...

Stephanie's POV

"Well that was... definitely news." Tim said, as he and I brought our dinner upstairs to our rooms, it was too awkward to sit downstairs with Bruce.
"Yeah." I reply, still puzzled. I just didn't expect it, no one did.
"How did it even happen?" Tim's question making me stop and blink at him before snickering.
"What?" He asked, brows furrowed in confusion.
"You do know where babies come from, right?"
"I... of course I do!!" I continue laughing at him.
"What do you think she is? The Immaculate Conception??" He gives me an ineffective bat glare and shoves me away lightly.
"Shut up!" I calm down and look at him with a beaming smile, trying to hold in some of my laughter.
"Ok, ok! I'm sorry—but it is funny!" I argue as he rolls his eyes, still holding onto my arm.

My laughter completely stops and we both look at one another in complete silence. Tim steps a bit closer to me, making my heart skip a beat.
"You look really pre-"
"Oh, good! You guys are back." We back away from each other like we've just been burned and both have blushes on our faces. Despite that, I still attempt to try and hold a conversation with Cass, like nothing happened as Tim stares at the floor, embarrassed.
"I uh... I think I'll just eat in my room." Tim says, coughing and walking away from us.
"Yeah, yeah. You uh... you do that. Me and Cass are just... are just gonna go to.. my room." I reply, turning redder and dragging Cass by the wrist to my room in the Manor.
"What was that about?" Cass questions in a whisper as we reach my room.
"He-almost-called-me-pretty!!!" I squeak out, excited and embarrassed at what just happened.

MEANWHILE, DOWNSTAIRS...

Bruce's POV

I saw no need to go upstairs right after dinner, so I decided to get some work done.

It was around 10:27 pm when my phone pinged with a text message.

It was Selina, asking if I wanted to meet her tomorrow at Bea's Beans Café to discuss some things in the morning.

I had nothing on my schedule so I agreed to the meeting and then decided to head to bed, too tired to do anymore work.

THE NEXT MORNING, THE BATCAVE...

Tim's POV

Bruce left in the morning, so that left me, Stephanie, Cass and Dick on patrol.

"There's been a bank heist this morning." Dick announces as Stephanie and I come down in our uniforms.
"By who?" Both Stephanie and I ask at the same time, unexpectedly. We stare at each other in shock and then look away.
"I don't know. It's not clear on the CCTV cameras. Tim, you should go down to investigate. You can take Cass and Steph with you." Dick says, looking at the Batcomputer's screen.

I nod and look at the girls.

"You know, I think I'll stay here. Stephanie can go with you." Cass says and Stephanie blushes.
"I... are you sure, Cass?"
"Yep. I'm sure." I glance at Dick, who just smirks, thinking I can't see him. I glance between Dick and Cass suspiciously, but decide to ignore whatever they are doing and turn to Steph.
"You coming with me on the mission?" She seems hesitant, looking at my outstretched hand and then smirks.
"Deal. But I'm driving—and we're taking my bike." I smirk back at her.
"You've got yourself a deal." She smiles proudly at that and we begin to get ready to leave.

Dick's POV

I glance at Cass as the Stephanie and Tim leave.
"You think they figured out what we're doing?" Cass shurgs.
"Probably. But at least they're together and we can get some bragging rights to being matchmakers." I chuckle at that and as she sits down next to him, I give her a fist bump with she accepts with a smile.

MEANWHILE, BEA'S BEANS CAFÉ...

Selina's POV

I glance up and smile as I see Bruce standing in front of me before sitting down at the table. He's dressed more casually today, in a sweatshirt and jeans, while I wear a loose, black jumpsuit.

Still, there's no doubt someone is going to recognize the handsome and well known face of Bruce Wayne.
"Glad you could make it." I say, sipping on the latte I ordered. He shrugs, like this thing is a casual meeting that happens all the time with us.
"You wanted to talk to me?" He ask and I nod, setting down my drink.
"Yeah. I uh... I've been thinking about your offer. And I think, since this baby will need to be in a safe environment and I can't exactly do my "usual routine" while I'm pregnant... I've decided I want to take up your offer and stay at the manor-for a short period of time, of course." I explain as I see him seem to take in what I'm saying-or maybe he's still hung up on me saying usual routine when referring to my work of thieving and stealing.
"Well," he says, finally, "thanks for telling me. You can stay for as long as you like." His hand reaches for mine, his eyes warm. It's a strange feeling, many men have done it in the past, but for him it's different, it's always been different.

He makes me feel warm and I smirk, pretending to feel unaffected by his attentions.
"Thanks, handsome." I say, taking one final sip of my latte.

Author's Notes

I wrote the beginning in third person before I stopped and remembered that this is a first person book-

I'm so glad I got around to re-writing this series. Because the old writing... it was bad. Really bad.

But I laugh and love it anyway lol

Ok, onto what I changed/didn't change:

-I made Selina's POV in italics last chapter. It was wrong and I just fixed it. Selina's is just regular font and Stephanie's is italics (it may not seem like a big deal but it kind of is to me, especially down the line when their kids get fonts for their own POVs-)

-I skipped over Jason and Babs going to sleep since it didn't actually add anything to the plot

-Stephanie's comment came from a commenter from the original book because I had Tim asked Stephanie (since they hard the news second hand from Dick in that version) how this could have happened and someone wrote in the comments that Selina was having Jesus😂

-Stephanie and Tim's cute little moment is not from the original book.

-Bea's Beans Café was in the original book, a name I thought of on the spot when I was writing. I didn't want to get rid of it :)

-Fun fact: 10:27 pm is the time when Bruce's parents died (yeah... don't know I made that the time he feel asleep but anyway-)

-In the original book, Barbara (presumably) doesn't live with her dad. I say presumably since according to my original writing the reason she left was because she and her dad were going to go somewhere and then she just wounded up back at her apartment. So basically... I gotta read ahead next time I do this!!

-I cut out the middle where Dick is explaining to Cass, Steph and Tim that Selina is pregnant since they were in the living room in the beginning scene.

-Because of this, we get to skip over dialogue where Tim is talking to Steph and she's just thinking about how hot he is and... just. Yeah. I don't want to get into that.

-Although, I did keep in a scene after where he asks her to come on a mission with him. Why? Because I didn't want to cut it. I thought it was cute :3
