His face immediately brightened, his eyes widened, he jumped out of his chair to face Kim, smiling from ear to ear, he wrapped his arms around her tight and spun her around "Kim! how did you get here" as he put her down and she said "well Bruce tracked me down (haha what a great detective) where I work and called them and said he would drive me up to Gotham city to visit you for your birthday". He looked at Bruce "thank you so much" and looked back at Kim spinning her around again laughing then put her down "oh I forgot I have a gift for you" she said putting her hand in her bag looking for it and finally took her hand out holding a box with newspaper wrapping she handed to him. He examined the box, opened it and was speechless of what it was, it was a picture of them when they were little with his family and hers at the Circus opening night and a note at the bottom of the box that says "to Dick from mom" and it read "every day we see you grow up it's like you never seem to change a bit happy birthday my little Robin, love mom" Dicks eyes began to water at the picture and his mom's handwriting "how did you get this?" he asked trying to fight through the tears, she looked at him with kind eyes "Well when we got that picture I had a copy of it, but after the accident, one day I found it in your old trailer and I opened up the back to find the card inside and I wanted you to have it." She said gesturing to the picture.

Dick hug Kim again "thank you" he said through tears as he drew back, dried his eyes and turned to Bruce who was also a little bit teary himself and said in a chuckle "you never seen me like this haven't you?" Bruce cracked a funny smile saying "only after you stubbed your toe the other day" Dick laughed at Bruce's comment and gave him a small hug "thank you for bringing her" he said as Bruce drew back and said "you're welcome Dick and happy birthday" Kim turned around to see Alfred at the door and said "hello Alfred" both Dick and Bruce look at Alfred as he walked over to Bruce and whispered something in his ear and immediately Bruce snapped his fingers and said "how silly of me I forgot Dick, I planned a fishing trip for your birthday" and Dicks face turned serious and looked at Kim "I'm sorry about this but we have to go to a fishing trip and I know how you are with fish so it just me and him, but I'll be back as soon as I can" he said with a funny wink Kim nodded her head "ok.".

So both Bruce and Dick walked out of the library and into the study leaving Kim alone. She grazed her fingers over the books and pulled one out that intrigued her. After reading that one she put it back and grabbed another and another until she heard a loud clunk almost like something had been dropped. She put down the book and walked into the hallway following the sound until she was face to face with a big oak door. she tried to open it but it won't budge. She put her ear to the door to listen but it was silent, she pulled out a Bobbie pen from her pocket, jiggled it in the key hole, heard it click and slowly opened the door, shutting it behind her and all that was in there was a shelf of metal vases she walked towards the shelf tripping on one of the vases and fell towards the shelf, it turned inward creating a opening and she flew down through the opening until she was in a dark, damp enclosure. When her eyes adjusted to the darkness she could make out large and small objects hanging from above and what appear to be electronic devices humming in the distance. She stood up, dusted herself off and as she rubbed her eyes, the other objects that she saw before became clearer and what she thought they were became true. Yes she was in a cave, the objects hanging were stalagmites, and the humming was in fact large electronic devices that had a symbol she had seen before. She was in the BatCave!!.
