Tony!!
Hi my guys! It's 3am Elfo (yes, there are 2 of them now! The difference is one of them is slower and doesn't know grammar) this is a Marvel one-shot page thingy! Have a nice life!! Also, ART PLUGGG! I did a thing, and we now have a cover!
Peter was so excited for school, except for when he remembered what they were doing. Peter's class would be going to Stark Tower. While everyone (once including him) wanted to go, he knew what Flash would do. Flash had it set to ruin Peter's life, which meant disproving Peter's not-so-fake internship. Above that, he knew Tony—he had threatened to take his suit if Peter kept calling him Mr. Stark—would do anything in his power to embarrass him.
When he got on the bus, he and Ned found a seat near the front, so that Ned could be one of the first off, and in the building. "Hey, calm down, dude! It'll be fine!" Ned was one of two who knew. About 'The Internship'. Well, the internship was the coverup for why Peter went to the tower so often. It wasn't really a lie, he did work on other things in the lab, like homework or whatever Tony needed, but working on the Spidersuit was the focus.
When the bus pulled into the parking lot, Peter grabbed his bag, and let Ned 'nerd out' about how cool it is. Flash, of course, was going to go over how his internship is fake.
"Hey, Penis! How's it gonna feel when Tony Stark proves that your internship is fake?" He sighed, knowing Miss Potts hadn't been able to do anything about Tony and embarrassing him.
When they—finally—got settled, and into the tower, Lizzy came with badges and a Uni intern, who was on break. Peter made sure to help them sometimes, so he knew that this man was Dave.
"Alright, welcome, Midtown! This is Dave, and I'm Lizzy! Please take a badge. Be sure that it is on display at all times, the head of security is a little grumpy when he can't see your badge." Everyone, except Peter, went to get their badge.
They passed things Peter already knew about. They walked at an almost excruciatingly slow pace, and that was why Dave and Peter had made a silent conversation, that went somewhat like:
Can I listen to music? He'd asked, holding an earbud where Dave could see.
Go ahead, you know this. He gestured to the tech on display. Peter then sent him a nod of thanks, and pushed his StarkPods in.
After hours (in Peter's mind, it was more 1 hour) they arrived at the cafeteria, and were told next they'd have a Q+A with Tony. Peter, Ned and MJ found a table way at the back, and luckily—thanks to almost all the interns, and a few staff having lunch at the same time—Flash couldn't get in and bully him.
Lunch, like everything, passed at a snail's pace. Finally, they were led to a room. It was a conference room, and probably the only one Tony didn't mind. With his super hearing, he heard a far-away vent crawler.
"Where is it? Why are there so many rooms? Can he hear me? Nat, do you think he can hear me?" There was a pause, where he assumed Ms. Romanoff had been talking to Mr. Barton, but he started speaking again. "Peter! I know you can hear me! Make some noise, or something, and I can watch! I brought popcorn!" Peter began tapping his fingers on the vent, and he heard the scurrying crawl of Hawkeye scrambling into the room. Sure enough, the vent opened, and a bag of Clint-Made popcorn fell into his lap.
When Tony came in, the conversations switched. Their conversations was toned down to something Peter felt comfortable hearing, having had his senses dialled up to 11. Questions filled the air, and it sounded like the soft patter of rain, only to be stopped by Flash's hand, shooting up into the air like a bullet. "Do you have Highschool interns?" Peter dreaded Tony's answer. Scenarios flashed through his head.
Tony says no, and Flash bullies him for being a liar.
Tony says yes, and Flash gives him the ever hated follow-up question.
Mr. Barton comes out of the vents and starts bragging about the one time he won a Mario Kart Match against Peter.
"No. The one exception is Peter Parker." Mr. Barton then came toppling out of the ventilation system.
"Yeah..." he mumbled to Peter when he'd asked if he was okay. He then headed to the door, but turned before he left. "You owe me a game of Mario Kart for the popcorn!"
"Sure, Mr. Barton!"
"It's Clint!" Everyone snickered, but Tony death-glared him, so Peter silently offered him popcorn, and he responded with a 'later'. As they were walking back to the bus, Tony walked at the back with Peter and Ned. Ned had already met Tony once, but it was brief—Ned having fainted—and his hand snaked into the bag of popcorn. "Damn, Clint makes good popcorn. You know his recipe?"
"Olive oil."
"That's gross."
"Is it, Tony? You're still eating it." Tony gave a shrug, and walked up to Peter's teacher.
"I'm keeping Peter here." Peter used his advanced hearing to listen to the conversation. It was nothing more than a 'sure' from Ms. Warren.
Peter could definitely say that went better than expected.
