For POV its not just about who it is, its also about 3rd POV or 1st POV

Heroes of Olympus was done in a 3rd POV while Percy Jackson and the Olympians was done in 1st POV

First POV example

Look, I didn't want to be a half-blood.
If you're reading this because you think you might be one, my
advice is: close this book right now. Believe whatever lie your
mom or dad told you about your birth, and try to lead a normal
life.

Being a half-blood is dangerous. It's scary. Most of the time, it
gets you killed in painful, nasty ways.
If you're a normal kid, reading this because you think it's fiction,
great. Read on. I envy you for being able to believe that none of
this ever happened.
But if you recognize yourself in these pages-if you feel something
stirring inside-stop reading immediately. You might be one of us.
And once you know that, it's only a matter of time before they

My name is Percy Jackson.

student at Yancy Academy, a private school for troubled kids in

Versus 3rd POV

Even before he got electrocuted, Jason was having a
rotten day.
He woke in the backseat of a school bus, not sure where
he was, holding hands with a girl he didn't know. That wasn't
necessarily the rotten part. The girl was cute, but he couldn't
Figure out who she was or what he was doing there. He sat
up and rubbed his eyes, trying to think.

Another example of POV is video games. You know when you click a button and it changed how your looking?

Like in Halo you have the gun on the right side of the screen then you click a control and you see the whole body? When the guns is all you see of yourself it's 1st POV when you see the whole body it's 3rd POV.
