set.
sports festival.
that event considered as hell month for the athletics department.
they were assigned to basically set up everything for the students to have fun with sports and cultural events such as performances.
the worst part for them, was that they couldn't even play the said sports. it was a rule made up by the school that any person from a varsity or a sports club cannot join because there were considered as 'over qualified'.
this resulted them only supervising the only event that was supposed to be meant for them.
at the moment, the student body council together with the the most trusted people in athletics were having a meeting on how the activity should flow.
"so, is the schedule all set?" the president asked.
"yup. now, we just need someone to design and sew the jerseys for the ones who are playing." another member said. "anyone?"
no one seemed to volunteer.
the president looked at jungkook. "jeon, isn't your sister in the fashion department?"
the boy nodded. "yeah, should i ask her?"
"can you, please? she must know someone."
"alright. anything else?" when the group scanned to the papers and shook their heads, it was a signal that the meeting was over.
they thanked one another and wished each other good luck as they walled out the room.
"soyeon! perfect." jungkook yelled while waving his hand and gesturing her to get nearer.
the junior furrowed her eyebrows but still said a small, see you later to her friends.
"hi, kookie. what is it?"
her brother cleared his throat and handed her a notebook.
"um?" she scanned through it only to see body measurements of students. "what exactly do you want me to do with this?"
jungkook grabbed her shoulders softly. "can you maybe design and find someone to sew all this in... three weeks?"
soyeon blinked a dew times. "you want me to what?"
"i know it's a lot but we're in a hurry. but if you don't want to do it, can you ask one of your classmates?" the senior was practically begging his sister.
soyeon felt bad for him. he hasn't really been resting throughout this month. he was visibly exhausted and he can't even have a little fun.
she wanted to help him somehow so she said, "of course, i'll do it. three weeks, right?"
jungkook's doe eyes beamed up. "thank you so much. yes, three weeks. i owe you so much."
"don't mention it. don't forget to eat later." she reminded him to which he nodded enthusiastically.
he mumbled an amount of thank yous before heading to class.
-
a few days later, soyeon still couldn't think of designs for the jerseys.
it turns out she needed to come up with something for each courses, which was a lot. a whole lot.
she only had designs for four majors and has yet to find a tailor to sew all of it.
she lets out a heavy sigh. she closed her locker and banged her head on it without caring if anyone saw or heard.
this made people around the halls look at her weirdly, and some to quite worry.
"what's up with soyeon?" asked san who pointed towards the distressed girl.
hongjoong frowned. soyeon was always one to focus in class and always participated but ever since the beginning of this week, she hasn't been herself.
it made him wonder himself.
"go ask her." his friend insisted.
the boy hesitantly approached his visibly stressed classmate. "hey, soyeon? you alright?"
soyeon snapped right back into reality when she heard hongjoong's voice and stood straight up.
"joong, hi! yeah, everything's fine." she managed to crack a smile. it was fake but it took a lot of effort.
"i mean, smashing your head on your locker gave it away but if you don't want to tell me, that's completely fine." hongjoong scratched his head, ignoring how san was holding his laughter beside him.
"you got me." soyeon lets out a breathy laugh. "jungkook asked me to design the jerseys for sports fest and boy, are there a lot."
the blue haired boy's eyebrows raised at this. "alone? that's tiring."
"sure is." the girl pouted. "and i haven't even found someone to sew them."
hongjoong thought for a bit before offering something. "i could help you with the designs, if you want."
she could always declined-
"oh, my gosh. really? you don't mind?" soyeon tiger-like eyes suddenly looked like a kitten's.
"of course not." hongjoong chuckled. "and my grandma owns a tailor shop. we could visit it to check it out-"
"your grandma owns a tailor shop?!" the blonde girl repeated in excitement. "holy sh- will it be okay?"
"she can't resist me. she'll agree." the boy claimed smugly.
"problem solved! thank you so much, joong!" soyeon's soulless eyes changed into bright ones.
"glad i can be of some help." hongjoong gave a tight lip smile. "are you playing any sports?"
the girl shook her head. "i'll just be supporting my sister, and of course, our department." she informed him. "you? you look like you play sports."
"if you call claw machine sports." san mumbled under his breath but hongjoong heard him.
"stop it." he glared at his friend. "and, no, actually. i won't, but my friend here will."
soyeon looked at the unfamiliar boy, or so she thought. "oh, aren't you wooyoung's boyfriend? hi!"
san and hongjoong's eyes doubled their sizes but for different reasons. san was surprised soyeon knew, hongjoong was in disbelief that he didn't know at all.
"he's who's boyfriend now?" the male fashion major asked, not believing his ears.
"wooyoung's. he told us a few days back."
the confirmation made hongjoong look at the younger boy with squinted eyes. "and how come we didn't know anything about this?"
san awkwardly cleared his throat. "you see.." he scooted over to soyeon slowly and whispered, "noona, where's wooyoung?"
the girl smiled. "cafeteria, i think?"
"thank you!" and he dashed away from them before further questions can be asked.
hongjoong didn't even bother to go after him, knowing that they'll see each other sooner or later. "and i thought that idiot couldn't keep anything to himself."
soyeon grinned. "looks like wooyoung found a great guy."
"san's a lot to handle but they'll balance each other out." the boy claimed.
it got the blonde thinking, "do you have a girlfriend?"
"uh... no, actually." she heard him answer which made her gasped.
"oh, my god. did i say that out loud?" she covered her mouth, refusing to believe the actually said that.
hongjoong's cleared his throat in a somewhat awkward manner. "yeah, but it's good! when are we meeting grandma?" he switched topics immediately.
soyeon shook her head to focus. "tomorrow? after school?"
"o-okay. see you, then." he was about to walk away.
"we're in the same class." the blonde girl mentioned.
"right, right." hongjoong tried to play it cool and stopped walking.
the two fashion majors earned stares from other students in the hallways.
for one, it was jeon soyeon with a guy. and the flustered aura around them wasn't something that anyone can miss. both were also avoiding eye contact.
there was one person who really hated seeing it, though. none other than the aussie senior who threatened jihae the other day.
