Chapter 4

Note: This story is assuming Barry was 26 when he got struck by lightning.

Also, in order to earn Mark and Kyle's trust, Len had let them kill Joe West.

...

Barry stared at the screen.

It seemed so much like their situation, yet he had a happy ending.

They were watching I Can Only Imagine.

It was about a kid whose mom left when he was little, and his dad hit him.

It really was similar.

He looked sideways and saw that Len was crying.

"I will never be able to forgive that bastard," he muttered.

Barry nodded. "I wouldn't mind being the one to kill him."

Barry leaned toward Len and put his head on his shoulders.

"I love you," Barry muttered. Len nodded.

"I love you too, Barry Allen."

...

Barry was worried and confused, but mostly really excited.

He had powers, for God's sake!

If he could learn how to use them, then he could beat Len at his own game! Get back at him for excluding Barry!

That would be epic!

He watched some videos.

Turns out metas were really popular. The robbed banks, murdered, etc.

He would go with Lisa's nickname, just because he couldn't think of a better one.

Where should he rob first?

He was so fast, security cameras wouldn't be able to catch him. But he still had one problem.

How was he going to get the actual money from a vault?

...

"I'll admit it. I feel bad about excluding Barry," Len sighed.

"Didn't we already have this talk?"

Len rolled his eyes.

"We can talk about something more than once, Lisa," he said.

"Well, I don't want to, so bye," she smirked.

Len rolled his eyes.

Seriously?

...

He sighed. For the next month, Caitlin and Cisco had helped him train.

For some reason, they kept trying to convince him to help stop other metahumans, but he refused.

Why would he stick his neck out to stop people when he was doing the exact same thing?

After a month of nonstop training, he decided he was ready, power wise.

That didn't mean that he stopped seeing his new friends.

What? He liked them. They were outside his robbing business, and they were his only friends.

...

After training so long and so hard, he decided to take a break.

For two weeks.

During those two weeks, he got drunk, blackout drunk, and had over three hookups.

Then he had to get back to work.

...

When those two weeks were up, he realized that he hadn't seen Len in a month and a half.

"Lenny?"

"What, Barry? I'm busy."

"With what? Planning that heist I wasn't invited to? Sorry to waste your time, big brother."

He hung up.

He didn't really feel like dealing with that right now.

...

"Good morning," Barry smirked. He didn't know who was in bed with him, but he didn't really care.

Until he saw who it was.

"Oliver!?"

Oliver groaned and shifted without opening his eyes.

Barry decided he didn't want to be there when the man woke up, so he quickly shoved his clothes on and headed to the door.

Then he realized that he was in the Queen's mansion.

Uh oh.

"Since when does Ollie bring boys over?"

Barry turned to see a pretty girl leaning against a door down the hall.

He recognized Thea Queen.

Shit!

"Uh..." He trailed off awkwardly.

"So you are Ollie's... buddy."

"He wishes," Barry scoffed before he could stop himself.

"So you have a mouth on you," Thea smirked.

Barry decided to just screw it and smirk back.

"Wow. Now I see what Oliver saw."

Speck of the devil.

"Barry? What are you doing here?" Oliver asked as he walked out, only wearing his boxers.

"How do you know his name?" Thea asked because it was pretty obvious he didn't remember last night.

"Oh! Uh..."

Thea rolled her eyes.

"See ya."

She left, leaving Barry and Oliver alone.

"So... what are you doing here?" Oliver finally asked.

"Well, I went to your club, got drunk, and I don't remember the rest. All I know is that I wake up naked in Oliver Queen's bed, with a naked Oliver Queen next to me. I'm also, bisexual, so I just put two and two together."

Oliver put a hand over his mouth.

"I remember..."

Barry chuckled before heading to what he hoped were the stairs.

"Hey! Wait!" Oliver called after him, but Barry didn't even turn.

...

After his incident with Oliver, he decided to go back to focusing on the heist.

"I studied the map... I memorized the guard schedule... I think I'm ready," he muttered to himself as he looked over blueprints.

...

"Well, I think I speak for all of us when I say that I just want to do the damn heist already," Mick grumbled.

Hartley, Lisa, Mark, Bivolo, Shawna, and Kyle all nodded.

"When is this heist?"

"Fine. In a week, alright?" Len asked, making it obvious that no was not an option.

Everyone nodded quietly.

...

Barry was ready.

He ran into Central City's National Bank.

He had heard Len talk about it (on more than one occasion) that this is where he was going.

This was his revenge.

When he sped in, he couldn't help but stare. It was so... different, especially at super speed.

He didn't linger.

He had a job to do.

If he wanted, he could come in here later, as a civilian, not a robber.

He took a few minutes (in normal time), but he found the vault.

He briefly wondered why they didn't change the lock.

Then he started picking it with the bobby pin tucked hooked to his suit.

He picked it in 3.1456 seconds (in speedster time!).

When he opened it, he was greeted by thousands of dollars, all calling his name.

He stuffed as many as he could into a duffle bag, raced into his apartment, emptied it, and repeated the process until there was no money in the vault.

What? He didn't want to save any money for Len.

This was revenge, after all.

...

"Let's go," Len called to the Rogues behind him.

They marched into the bank, careful to avoid anything to trigger a silent alarm, and head toward the vault in the back.

When Len finally picked it (3.0005 seconds), he was shocked to find no money in it. Upon closer inspection, he saw a note.

"Why, hello, Captain Cold.

Did I steal your loot? Whoops. Sorry, not sorry. Now, I have a name, but I'm not that stupid. You can call me Zoom. What? How do I know exactly what your sister said? Or about your precious little brother? I have cameras everywhere, Snart. Or should I say, Lenny?

I'll beat you every time, Captain Cold.

-Zoom"

He sighed.

Why was someone stealing his loot?

...

(Barry: 14, Len: 17)

Barry stared at his face in the mirror.

"I'm so ugly," he whispered to himself. He had bruises all over his naked body, including below the waist. He also had acne on his face and shoulders, which just made him feel worse.

Suddenly, the bathroom door opened.

Barry just groaned.

Lewis had stripped him before. It wasn't new. Barry had learned how to not be ashamed of his body in front of Lewis.

So he was surprised (and embarrassed) to find Len standing there.

"Barry... how did this happen?" he asked suspiciously.

"Uh..."

The truth was, Barry had been covering for his older brother. Sure, he might leave soon, but he didn't want him to go out with bruises.

"Why do you have so many? Lewis hasn't been hitting me or Lisa very much, so why are you covered from head to toe?"

Barry looked down at his swollen feet.

"You've been covering for us?"

Barry nodded slowly, causing Len to facepalms loudly.

Barry jumped.

He quickly shoved on his boxers and got his shirt on as fast as he could.

"Wait... Barry!"

But Barry was already shoving Len out of the way, trying desperately to escape.

Leb grabbed his hands.

"Barry!"

But Barry was sobbing, leaning against Len.

"I-I can't do this, Len. I wan-wanted to repay you for all you've been doing, but I can't. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm so so-"

Len pulled him into a hug.

"Shhh... it's ok. You don't need to. Your my little brother, Barry. You never need to repay me. And I would never want you to."

"But... you're pretty. You don't need scars lining your entire body."

Len chuckled. "I don't care, Barry. I just don't want you getting hurt because you want to protect me."

"Barry!"

They both turned sharply at the harsh command from Lewis.

Barry broke Len's grip and trudged slowly toward the voice, head down, shoulders shaking.

"Coming, Father!" Len called as he shoved past Barry, who was looking at him in shock.

"Len..."

"It's fine, Barry. I'll be ok."

...

That was one of Len's favorite memories.

He still remembered the adorable, but shocked look that Barry had given him when he shoved past him.

He wondered where Barr was at the moment.

Since the phone call, Len hadn't seen or heard from Barry. He wished he could make it up to him, but he had to find whoever this "Zoom" character was before he went after Barry.

Wait. What if the reason he couldn't get into contact with Barry was that Zoom had already gotten him!?!?

He had to know.

...

RIng! Ring! Ring!

"Ugh," Barry groaned as he woke up. Who called this early!?

Len, that's who.

"Wha?"

"Barry, thank God. I think someone's after you!"

Barry snorted. "Who?"

"Someone named Zoom." Barry barely contained his giggles. Barely. "Seriously, Barry."

This would serve him right. "Sure there is, Len. You're crazy."

"Bar-"

Barry hung up. Len could be a jackass sometimes.

...

Damnit. Barry refused to take the threat seriously.

Didn't he know that it could be legitimate!?

Len sighed.

How could he convince him?

...

"So, Len's an asshole," Barry greeted Caitlin and Cisco.

"Really, Barry? Really?" Caitlin asked with an unimpressed stare.

"What?" he asked innocently, although he knew exactly what they were talking about.

Cisco gave him a look, which he ignored.

"Zoom? Why couldn't I name you?"

"Because there was significance in it being exactly what Lisa said." He didn't turn from staring at Caitlin.

Then he noticed where she was staring.

He smacked his lips to get her attention. She jumped, making Cisco laugh.

"Not funny," she muttered. "Hey! You were the one staring at my lips. I'm allowed to do what I want with them," Barry replied with a grin.

She rolled her eyes, while Cisco just laughed even harder.

...

"Barry, pick the-"

"Who's Barry?"

Shit!

"Ugh..."

Mick chuckled. "Another hookup?" he guessed. Not even close.

"Yeah... something like that." Barry would kill him if he heard this.

Consider it revenge for not answering your phone.

Mick just rolled his eyes and walked away, beer in hand like always.

...

Hartley, Mark, Bivolo, and Kyle were all suspicious. It was obvious that Len and Lisa had a secret, and they guessed that Shawna had been let in on it because she was Lisa's best friend.

They wanted to know.

What if it compromised Len? They needed their boss at his best, not distracted by that note. They hadn't been able to read it for some reason, but they figured it had to do with his compromising secret.

Mark wondered if it had to do with this "Barry" character.

He quickly shot down the idea.

But he and his team would get to the bottom of it.

...

I miss Ronnie.

Caitlin was thinking of Ronnie so much right now, she barely even remembered Wells.

She knew she had to move on, but she didn't know how.

When she had been busted by Barry, she realized that maybe she was ready to move on.

But Barry had made it clear that he was gay.

Could he be bi?

...

Barry couldn't help but feel on top of the world. Caitlin obviously liked him (he may or may not like her back), Cisco was his best friend, and he was getting revenge on Len.

What could possibly go wrong?
