"Smith? What the hell are you doing out so late? You weren't on patrol tonight?"
Hannah stood outside in her dressing gown after Smith had called her out, he stood in wolf form his breath quick from the obvious run he just done.

Lewis was on the other side of the pack territory with the rest of the night patrol so she knew that Smith had come here on his own terms, and whatever he had come to tell it wasn't news he wanted the alpha male to know.

Smith stood shifting the dirt with his forepaw, his head hung low, a light whimper escaping his jaw. Hunkering down Hannah got eye level with the large brown wolf and using her hand, lifted Smith's muzzle up so she could look into his golden eyes, a light ring of blue around the iris showing the colour of his human eyes.

"Now tell me what's wrong" Hannah said softly as Smith sighed and sat down. A perk of being the Alpha female was that Hannah could use the pack telepathic link even in human form, allowing her to communicate outside her wolf form.

"I think this is all getting to much for Anya" Smith confessed, with a whine.
Hannah sighed and nodded, "I knew this was coming, we have been pushing her too hard".
Smith pawed the ground again and Hannah couldn't help but smile, "You like Anya don't you?"
Smith's large wolf head snapped up, his ears pricked, eyes wide, "I do not!" He snapped, but Hannah knew that the wolf was blushing under his brown fur.

Holding back a chuckle Hannah patted Smith head, "Tell you what, let's teach her something different tomorrow, something less physical, after all there is only one more thing we can teach her until she shifts".
Smith's tail tapped the forest floor as he realised what lesson Hannah meant.

"Now off with you Mr Softy, go get some sleep and stop worrying" Hannah laughed, Smith nodded and ran off, his tail still wagging.
Hopefully Anya would forgive him.

"What lesson have I got today? Let me guess, you want me to jump the river, or maybe I have to fight the whole pack" Anya said her head low, even though she had no morning lessons she was still exhausted after another full day of editing, filming and learning about the tech behind the live streams.

The sun had set an hour ago so the forest was dark, it's shadows providing cover to the pack members.
Anya met with several members up on the highest point in the territory, it had been quite a trek.
Those members were Hannah, Kim and a new face. Anya stepped forward to this new female and nodded in respect, one of the many things she was told about the workings of the pack. This new lass had short bobbed back hair and deep blue eyes.

"Hey Anya, I'm Kaeyi, it's nice to finally meet you" Kaeyi introduced and Anya smiled, "And you" she said noting the light green band on Kaeyi's wrist, "Your Martyn's mate, right?" Anya asked but then felt embarrassed for asking.
Kaeyi just laughed, "Yea Stinky and I are the only other pair in the pack besides Hannah and Lewis".

"Introductions over, are you ready for your next lesson?" Hannah interrupted the two and tapped the area next to where the three sat, "Come sit down Anya, this is an important lesson, but it's also quite fun" she explained as Anya sat down beside her.

Looking out across the territory Anya smiled at the sight, it was truly beautiful in the moon light.
Anya listened to the wind through the trees when a majestic howl echoed through the night.
A huge grin crossing her face Anya turned to Hannah, "That's right Anya, it's time for you to learn our language" Hannah said as Anya sat giddy with excitement.

In turn members of the pack ran through forest and howled their call, allowing Anya to hear their voice as she sat atop the peak, a wide smile of her face.
"That's Martyn" Kaeyi said nudging Anya lightly, "It's very similar to Sparkles*' howl".
"Sparkles*?" Anya questioned not recognising the name.
"He's another member of the pack, he's in Japan with his band at the moment but you will meet him when he comes back for the livestreams" Hannah explained.

Anya nodded and listened closely to Martyn's howl, "It sounds like he's singing" She smiled, then Martyn's howl ended and another began.

Tilting her head the new howl sparked recognition, "Smith?" Anya said and Hannah smiled to herself, "That's right, how did you know?"
Anya shrugged, but as she thought about it she questioned how she knew, "I... just knew" she said as Hannah, Kim and Kaeyi looked at each other, all three containing their inner glee.

Anya continued to listen to the different howls of the pack, each howl different in tone and effort. But she couldn't stop thinking about how she knew Smith's howl almost instantly, was that normal?

So distracted by the voices in the forest Anya jumped when the girls began to howl. Even in human form their howls sounded like they came from the jaws of a wolf.
As the three girls howled the lads in the woods replied, the forest erupting with the chorus of the pack.
It was beautiful!

Anya couldn't wait until her howl could join them in the night sky, but she would have to wait.
All the lessons she could have in human form were over.
She now had to wait for the final change!
The change that would see her shift from two legs to four paws.

The time was approaching!
