CHAPTER TWO
"You're late." Kali rushed through the back doors of the small dinner, pulling her blond hair back and giving her work best friend the finger and a overly sweet smile. The two were close and were known for getting on each others asses about small things, mainly their timing because Kali sucked at being on time in the morning shifts and Grace couldn't be on time at night shifts to save her life. The two girls never spoke outside of work but that was just how their friendship was and they were both ok with that.
"Suck my dick." She simply responded, moving to the back room where the aprons and notebooks were kept. Kali both loved and hated this job because if she was nice enough she got good tips but at the same time she had to be nice enough. Her real life personality had very much evolved with her online one and while she wasn't as mean as she was online, she was definitely used to being more mean now.
"There's a table waiting for you already." Grace grinned, crossing her arms as she threw a pen to Kali who easily caught it. She wrote her name and the date on the top of the notebook to let their boss know that she had used it for her shift. Kali glanced out the swinging doors and rolled her eyes, seeing the group who was already sat in her area.
"They can also suck my dick." Kali said as she stepped backwards, letting the other waiter enter the room followed by their boss. Luckily for Kali, the boss knew Grace and her and loved the duo. They pulled good tips and had people often come back to see the two. He just smiled at the two girls who were staring at each other.
"Big smiles Kali," Their boss reminded Kali who forced a big smile onto her face. She had almost gotten too good at the sweet smile that most people fell for as she served them in the mornings. It was a natural talent and Kali often wondered why she didn't just sign up for acting school back in highschool instead of deciding to major in computer sciences.
"How are you so aggressive at nine in the morning?" The waiter, who was relatively new to the dinner, asked with wide eyes. Kali laughed a little as she leaned on Grace who gave her a hug from the side. As much as the two went at it, they still were there for each other and wouldn't let the other be mistreated by people while they were working.
"It's a talent." Kali told the kid before putting the smile back on and slipping through the doors, heading in the direction of the three boys sitting at a table. She knew she would have to play nice if she wanted good tips because people their age never really tipped that much. "Good morning." She greeted them and they all looked over at her. She was blond and had dark eyes, her makeup was simple other then her eyes which were dark and smokey. The three stared at her for a second and she kept herself from rolling her eyes. "Do you guys know what you want to drink today or do you guys need some more time?" She asked, keeping up her sweet demeanor as she made eye contact with the boy sitting near the window. He had dirty blond hair and green eyes, seemingly not able to focus as he looked from the menu then to her repeatedly.
"I think we are good to order drinks," The boy said, looking at his two friends. Kali looked at the two of them, the one with dark short hair and the other with messy dark brown hair. She looked back to the dirty blond and gave him a small nod with her iconic nice smile, clicking her pen open. "I'll get an orange juice." He said, his eyes moving from the menu then to her and she wrote it down.
"Can I get a coffee?" The one with a baseball ball and messy dark brown hair asked, meeting her eyes and she nodded again. She looked to the last boy who was looking at his two friends, shaking his head a little before he met her eyes as well.
"Just a water please." He said and Kali was taken back by his accent at first but easily brushed past it. She wrote down each thing and looked at the table.
"Water." The one with the baseball hat mocked and a smile appeared on Kali's face again, a way for her to hide the eye roll she was about ready to give him.
"Alright, I'll be back in a few." Kali smiled sweetly before turning her back and heading towards the kitchen again so she could mock the table with Grace.
