CHAPTER THIRTY TWO
Kali's eyes flutter open and she rolls over a little in the bed, feeling Clay's arms wrapped tightly around her. A smile grows on her face as she feels herself waking up more and more and she turned to face her sleeping boyfriend. It was clear he was going to be asleep for a long time and she had no problem sitting in the warmth that the bed provided but knew that she had to get up.
After a few minutes of listening to Clay's heart beat, she finally wiggled out of his arms and managed to find herself on the floor. As she got back to her feet she rolled her eyes at how he hadn't even woken up at the sound of her crashing down onto the floor. Nonetheless she slinked out of the room, knowing the house well enough and she turned back to see that Patches was following after her.
The girl walked through the house and found herself in the kitchen. She placed her hands on the marble countertop and grinned a little when Patches jumped from the floor to the counter, still trying to grab the girls attention. A small laugh escapes Kali's lips and she moves towards the fridge, standing on her toes to reach the canned cat food for the needy cat.
"Here," Kali smiled as she opened the can and poured it into Patches' bowl. As she places the bowl down on the floor Patches is quick to wrap herself around Kali's legs before starting to eat her breakfast. She scoffed a little even though a grin was still across her face and went to the fridge, this time for herself. "Patches, should I make food?" Kali asks with a tilt of her head, asking the cat despite the fact that she knows that she won't answer. But when her eyes land on Patches she sees that she is looking directly right back at her. "I'll take that as a yes."
"What smells good?" Clay's sleepy voice comes from the entrance of the kitchen and Kali turned her head away from the sausage links that she had been working on. She had already made a stack of pancakes for the two and was working on a few other things, bored but not wanting to wake Clay up.
"Breakfast." Kali answered with a him with a grin as she looked over her shoulder, her blond hair up in a messy bun as she was dressed in one of his shirts that looked as if it was a dress on her.
"When she makes you breakfast," Clay said as he walked up and wrapped his arms around her as she turned off the stove. Kali looked over her shoulder at him and gave him a kiss on the cheek before taking the pan and placing the links down onto the plate she'd already set out.
"I'm so kind." Kali grins as she pushed the plate further back on the table and Clay followed after her. She turned around and looked at him and reached up, wrapping her arms around his neck and he tilted his down, connecting his lips with hers.
"So kind," Clay muttered against her lips before deepening the kiss even more. His hands found his way down to Kali's thighs and lifted her up onto the kitchen counter so she could wrap her legs around him. Clay bite her lip lightly which made her take a sharp breath and he smiles as he feels Kali's legs wrap even more around her.
"Honey, I'm home!" A voice suddenly yells out followed by the slamming on a door. This of course caused both Kali and Clay to pull away from each other, out of breath and eyes wide as a certain brown haired Texan boy walked into the kitchen. "Oh sorry," His eyes flicker between the two of them with a grin on his face as he realized what was going on. "Am I interrupting something?" He asked and Clay shot him a glare.
"No, no." Clay said as Kali ran a hand through her hair, clearly trying to make herself look less flustered. "Nothing at all." He said and Kali rolled her eyes at how stupid her boyfriend was and just how non-believable he sounded.
"Just making breakfast." Kali said in a much more calm and collected voice. She looked at Nick, stepping on Clay's foot, and she looked much more collected after having a second to herself. Nick looked from Kali then to Clay with a grin on his face.
"Yeah, yeah." Nick said with a small hum as he picked up his bag that he had originally dropped on the hallway floor. He studied the two of them which made him grin even more, shaking his head as he threw his travel backpack over his shoulders again. "You both say as your out of breath." He laughed before rushing upstairs before either of the couple could either threaten him or call him a beautiful variety of colorful names.
