CHAPTER THIRTY THREE
For the last hour Kali had sat at her table, flipping through her mail and trying to figure out what she was going to do. She knew that over the last few weeks her lease was coming to an end and the girl had sent multiple emails, letters and even texts to the man who owned her apartment building but he hadn't responded. It also didn't seem like he would respond any time soon which was problematic due to the fact that she needed to know if they were going to extend the lease or if she needed to find a new place to stay. It was sort of important to her to know where she would be living the next few weeks of her life.
Kali had pushed off spending the day with Sam, George, Tubbo, Punz and many others so she could figure out what she was going to do. This of course had caused the others to all complain so to make them shut up, she sent Tommy as her replacement. They did not find that funny but she told them to have a good time before she left the vc, looking at the paper which she had received.
"Knock, knock." A voice called out followed by the sound of Kali's front door opening and she placed the letter down, looking over her shoulder at the door as two boys found their way into her apartment. This had been happening a lot lately, the trio of boys often hanging out in her apartment rather then their own massive house.
"Oh you look stressed." The second voice spoke up and Kali's eyes shot to Nick who was dressed in his usual outfit. She had never seen him in anything other then jeans, a sweatshirt and with a hat on his head. Even when she had stayed the night at their house. It was strange to her but she didn't question him.
"Thank you for that helpful comment." Kali said sarcastically with a fake thumbs up and an overly sweet smile. She clicked her pen open and shut with a stressed look once again crossing her face at the price it should have been to extend her contract but she needed her landlord to get back to her. Soon.
"You are welcome my dearest friend." Nick laughed a little as he walked around the table and towards the nearly empty fridge. He was always raiding her house for something to eat despite the fact the grocery store wasn't even a few blocks away from their house. Clay rolled his eyes and sat down at the table with her, taking her hand in his with a soft smile before looking over his shoulder at Nick.
"Nick go away." He simply said and a frown crossed the younger boys face. Nonetheless Nick reached up and grabbed a bag of chips from on top of Kali's fridge before going into her living room. "What's wrong pretty girl?" Clay asked softly as he saw that Nick was now distracted and wasn't going to add his most likely unhelpful opinions into whatever problem Kali was having.
"My lease is ending soon." Kali muttered as she looked from her boyfriend and then to the papers in front of her again. "And I can't get in touch with the owner of this god damn building." She added and Clay frowned as well, slowly realizing her issue. "And that means that I don't know if I'm going to be living here or on the streets by next Friday."
"She's from the streets." Nick's voice was able to be heard from the other room and a frown appeared on Clay's face as Kali scoffed.
"Nick." Clay called out to his best friend who was laughing in the other room, hiding from their sight so neither could throw the roll of paper towels on the table on his direction.
"No but really," Nick said and peaked over the couch to see Kali with her head in her hands while Clay was giving him a look. "She could live with us." He suggested and Clay's eyebrows furrowed a little more but then he seemed to realize what Nick was saying. "We have enough space." He added the obvious because their house was big enough for them all, there wouldn't be any hurt in adding another person.
"You guys don't have too," Kali tried to speak up but Clay laughed a little.
"Oh shut up." He said, grabbing one of the pens from off the table and clicking it open and shut. Nick entered the room again with a bag of chips in his hands and Kali watched as he made his way back to her fridge and popped it open to grab a sofa from one of the drawers. She frowned because she didn't remember putting soda into her fridge. "You nearly already live with us." Clay pointed out the obvious because it was true. As much as the boys were at her apartment, she also spent a lot of her free time at his house.
"Ok," Nick said with a grin appearing on his face, dragging the word out. "But we leave room for Jesus in our house." He jokes and the two take a minute to realize what he said.
"What?" Clay scoffed as he looked at the girl who was rolling her eyes at how he was acting.
"Look, I just don't want to be an uncle by 2025." Nick stated, holding his hands up as if he were innocent and Kali sent him a glare as he nearly dropped the chip bag onto her floor.
"Nick!" Clay glared at him, his face turning pink slightly which made Kali scoff.
"I'm just saying that I could totally see myself being uncle Sapnap." Nick says with a grin slowly growing on his face which makes Kali roll her eyes, knowing that he was just trying to annoy Clay.
"Get out." Kali laughs under her breath as she tries to get the duo out of her apartment. The two stop their bickering and look at her with a frown on both of their faces, not wanting to leave as they had just gotten there.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Nick said as he tossed the chip bag lazily back onto the top of the fridge with a pout still on his face. Kali picked up the paper towel roll and held it in a way which made Nick realize how he was now in danger. "Just no babies!" He said before disappearing behind the wall again, staying in the conversation but hiding from the girls aim.
"Both of you leave." Kali scoffed as she collected all of the papers which were spread out across the table, putting them into a neat pile. She looked up to see Clay with a pout on his face as he stood up and she also stood up, placing the paper stack onto the table.
"You going to pack a bag?" Clay asked as he stepped closer to Kali, wrapping his arms around her waist and she turned to face him. She felt her heart flutter a little as she looked up at him and he connected his lips with hers.
"Mhm," Kali muttered as she pulled away from the kiss and rested her head on his chest as he kept his arms around her.
"Alright, I'll see you when you show up." Clay muttered to her, kissing her forehead and she smiled. She once again looked up to see him looking down at her, his green eyes flickering between her eyes and lips. "I love you." He told her as he bent down to kiss her once more, the kiss lingering as she wrapped her arms around his neck.
"I love you too." Kali murmured against his lips and then looked over when she saw Nick fake gagging in the corner which made her roll her eyes. "Get your Sapnap under control," She told her boyfriend as she took a step backwards and Clay glanced at the dark haired Texan who was laughing at himself.
"I wish I could."
