Through a drunken sweat Aelyna's gown stuck to her skin. After her encounter with Aegon, she had rushed to her chambers emptying many cups of wine.

Like most of her ventures to an empty cup, Aelyna found herself sunk to the bottom of a bathtub. She had always felt a sense of comfort when her skin scorched from heat. Does it bliss the dragon within you, sweetling? Laena had always asked her.

Perhaps it was the wine but as she succumbed to the boiling water, a fire danced in front of her eyes. A bloodied knife, an eye and a corpse burned to the bone.

Aelyna gasped as she sat up in the bath. Gripping the handle as her gown stuck to her skin. She must have climbed in with no hesitation. Aelyna was not surprised at this- after all she felt dirty.

Licking her lips, despite the seven cups all she could taste was Aegon on her lips. His dry, coarse wine stanched lips on hers. She shook her head as she drunkely stumbled out of the tub. Her legs weak as she stumbled to her bed, her body thrown on the silks of her bed. Her skin itched from the steam, she hoped it would wash the feel of his palms off of her skin.

her first kiss- a stolen kiss.

"Burn off my skin." She muttered to herself as she felt her eyes grow heavier. Finally sleep.

The wonderful thing about wine was it made time cease for Aelyna. She would spend too much time trying to maintain balance, her head from rolling off her neck to care about time. She had not always enjoyed wine as she did at fifteen- at first she hated the pungent smell. The awful bloodied taste on her tongue, until she felt what it did to her body and mind. Her brain became lighter and emptier with each swallow, her body a feather blown in the winds. But alas her drunken sleep would not last as she felt herself be woken up by a tiny hand poking her in her face.

Her eyes shot open, slowly sitting up to see her bed surrounded by the tiny faces of her Jace, Luke, Baela and Rhaena

"Wh-what?" her voice groggy as she rubbed her eyes "What is it?"

"Someone stole Vhagar."

Unlike most days Aelyna found herself trailing behind her younger sisters. Leading them through the tunnels as Aelyna felt Rhaena's grip tighten around her hand. When the twins had realized that it was Vhager soaring under the skies of Driftmark, they had no hesitation to call Aelyna. It seemed like the safest option, despite Jace and Luke's hesitation. If anyone were able to dispute the matter, it would be Aelyna.

"It's him." Baela said. Aelyna shook her head, her vision still blurry as she made out the cloaked figure. The cloak removed to reveal prince Aemond. It seemed like both brothers had made it their mission to irritate her that night, she thought to herself.

"It's me." Aemond arrogantly boasted, his eyes travelled straight to Aelyna. Finally he had a dragon, one that rivalled with Vermithor. Finally the Bronze Fury and queen of all dragons had been claimed. After years of torment and belittling from his nephews, his brother Aemond had a dragon to call his own. Aegon had often reminded him that the bastards within their family had dragons before him, the son of the king. Surrounded by bastards who had a dragon to call their own while he remained dragonless.

"Vhagar is our mother's dragon." Baela exclaimed as Aelyna held Rhaena's hand tighter

"Your mother is dead." Aemond remarked "And Vhagar has a new rider." He cocked his head to Rhaena.

"She was mine to claim!" Rhaena argued back, letting go of her Aelyna's hand

"Then you should have claimed her!" Aemond challenged "Perhaps Lord Strong can find you a pig to ride, it would suit you." Before Aelyna could argue back her sister lunged to the prince. Aemond had caught Rhaena throwing her down to the ground. Her yelp snapped Aelyna wide awake and sober, as both she and Baela lunged at the prince. Baela's fist travelled faster than Aemond could anticipate, as he fell from impact Aelyna pulled Baela behind her as she grabbed Aemond by his collar. Her heart raced as she furiously slammed her fist against his face. The skin of her knuckles bleeding as she hit him again and again, until Aemond had caught her hand.

His palm enveloped around her fist, his cheek caked and bloodied as his other hand pulled at her hair. A final blow to her gut as his boot dug into her wind. Aelyna helped as she fell back, gasping for air from his kick.

"Come at me again and I'll feed you to my dragon!" Aemond threatened Daemons daughters. Aelyna held Baela and Rhaena close as she got back on her feet. Sharing a glance to Jace as her sisters grasped around her middle.

Jace launched himself at the prince, a crisis ensued as all the children attacked Aemond. Aelyna struggled to catch her breath as she witnessed the four children over power Aemond.

Aemond was quicker than anticipated, able to counter each of her sisters attacks. When he was released from Baela and Rhaena's fist, one upper cut to Jace he grabbed Luke by his collar. The children around Aelyna now all bloodied and bruised "You will die screaming in flames just like your father did!" Aemond gripped Luke harsher around his neck "Bastards!" he spat to them all

Aemond's arm raised to the rock in his free hand, aiming it above Luke's head "My fathers still alive!" Luke cried.

"He doesn't know, does he?" Aemond chuckled, a sinister smirk plastered on his face as he looked between Jace and Aelyna.

"Jace..." Aelyna whispered. Jace unsheathed his dagger lunging himself to Aemond- the prince had caught him. Raising his rock higher, this time intended for Jace. A blood curdling scream echoed through the crypts as Luke's dagger slashed through Aemond's eye. Blood splattered against Luke's tiny face, as Aemond fell to his knees screaming in pain. The roars of Vhagar thundered through the passages.

Aelyna rushed to the boy ripping the sleeve of her gown to prevent further blood be spilt. Aemond curled in pain as Aelyna pressed the fabric against his face. Her eyes a flurry, as she looked back to the four children look back at her. Aemond's cries sounded alarms in her head, one look to the pool of blood underneath them did she see an eye ball look back at her.

The clanking of metal armors rang in Aelyna's ear as she looked up to see the kings guard "Call the maester!" Harrold Westerling ordered his men. He rushed to take the prince from Aelyna's arms. A final look to the eyeball at the hem of Aelyna's dress, made her stomach empty every drop of wine she consumed.

Aelyna's nerves were shook. It all had happened too quick for her liking. As Aemond winced in pain all she could feel was the stares of the kings court on them. She leaned against the center table watching the maester stitch the young boy. Her eyes wandered to Aegon, both sharing glances to one another. Both their eyes too heavy and dark, if only their fight at the beach was its last. Her eye shifting between Aemond and Aegon, both princes cheeks bruised from her vicious fist. Aelyna pulled the sleeve of her dress attempting to hide her swollen and bruised fist as her eyes shifted to Otto Hightower.

He saw, he knew what she had done to Aegon. It would not take long for him to realize that she had harmed Aemond as well. After all she was the eldest, her punches far stronger than her sisters or her cousins. Alicent held her sons hand as she looked to her father, following his eyes as hers landed on that of Daemons eldest. Otto's eyes glanced to the first wrapped hiding under the silk sleeve as he nodded his head. Alicent scoffed as she pulled her focus back to Aemond.

The door barged open as princess Rhaenys and Lord Corlys rushed to Baela and Rhaena. Their grandmother wrapping them in her arms. Rhaenyra entered in a rush to her sons aid "Who did this?" She asked taking her boys in her arm. "Show me, show me." She demanded as she craddled Luke's bloodied face in her hands "Who has harmed my sons?" she turned to face them all.

Aelyna kept her composure as she felt Daemons hand on her shoulder. "Who attacked you?" Daemon quietly asked Aelyna. She felt her father take her hand, his thumb glided over her bruised knuckles. "It's fine father. I was protecting them." She whispered nodding to the children in Rhaenyra and Rhaenys' arms.

Aemond's eyes shot to Daemon and Aelyna. He perfectly understood them well. "They attacked me first!" he shouted pointing to the princes and princesses.

"He attacked Baela!"

Arguments formed from each corner of the room. Each child defended themselves as Aelyna crossed her arms. She noticed the slight smirk on her fathers face, nudging him with her elbow "None of this is funny." she reprimanded him. Aelyna felt the corner of her lips form a smirk as the children continued to argue amongst each other. Nothing of the matter was to be laughed at, and yet the tension of the room still tickled Aelyna. The loss of control from each parent, as well as the king. Viserys gripped his cane, huffed in irritation as he attempted to calm the room. Aelyna found it all too amusing, the king, ruler of the seven kingdoms unable to control the argues of children.

Viserys had become out of breath and out of patience "SILENCE!" he commanded through the room. Each mouth falling silent. Aelyna noticed Jace whisper to his mother a final time. Rhaenya's face had fallen as she turned to face her father and his wife. Viserys limped to his injured son "Aemond, I will have the truth of what happened here." He ordered "Now."

"What else is there to hear?" Alicent retaliated "Your sons has been maimed. Her children are responsible." She coaxed

"It was an accident, your grace." Rhaenyra noted

Aelyna gagged at the thought of the prince's eye at the hem of her dress. She doubted she would eat the following morning due to the accident, that was the prince's missing eye.

"An accident?" Alicent retorted "My son has lost his eye! The prince Lucerys brought a blade to the ambush. He meant to kill my son."

"It was my sons who were attacked and forced to defend themselves!" Rhaenyra raised her voice to the queen. "Vile insults were levied against them."

"Fuck." Aelyna cursed to herself. Her eyes shifted to her uncle. The threat in Rhaenyra's tone washed over Viserys, a fire ignited in his eyes. One she noted that brought a shift amongst Alicent Hightower

"What insults?" The king asked only once. The room remained quiet. An uncomfortable silence filled the room, as glances amongst the Hightowers, the Targaryens and the Velaryons could be seen. Daemon and Aelyna remained by standers, examining the tone shift within everyone. Aelyna noticed how Alicent's hand clammed tighter around Aemond's hand.

"The legitimacy of my sons birth was put loudly into question." Rhaenyra confessed.

Aelyna rolled her eyes, even after all this time, no matter the blood of the dragon that coursed through their veins they would always be bastards. Prince Lucerys and Jacaerys would always be bastards, just as she. Forever put to shame, only unlike Aelyna they were the princesses' heirs. To call them bastards, was an act of treason.

"What?" Viserys asked. Aelyna knew the look in his eye, it was the same he held shortly after Rhaenyra's coronation. The look of a father who would burn the seven kingdoms for his child. She remembered the war in Stepstones all too well. Argues were held at the kings clarity to have named his daughter heir. It was an isolating time for both her and Rhaenyra. Their every move was monitored. She the bastard whore child and Rhaenyra the princess unfit to rule the realm. During her formative years, despite all her uncles flaws, he never wavered to claim Aelyna as a Targaryen, nor Rhaenyra as his heir.

"They've been called bastards." Aelyna spoke all heads turning to her "To question their legitimacy-" Aelyna quoted with her hands "It's to bring up the same argument that were levied against me, uncle." She emphasized. Sharing a respectful nod to Rhaenyra.

Rhaenyra sighed of relief, even after all the years Aelyna still remained in her corner "My sons are in line to inherit the throne, your grace." Rhaenyra added "This is the highest of treasons. Prince Aemond must be sharply questioned so we might learn where he heard such slanders."

This Aelyna did not agree with. His lost eye was punishment enough, but far be it from her to insert herself in Rhaenyra's argument.

"Over an insult?" Alicent muttered "My son has lost an eye." The gasped in horror. Aelyna shared a look to Daemon

"Had it been me who called them bastards, she would have called for my head." The princess muttered in Valyrian to her father. The two met with the sharp eye of the king and queen. The matter only further irritated King Viserys

"You tell me boy." Viserys stood toe to toe with his son. His figure looming over the injured prince as even his mother could not protect him from the threat of Viserys "Where did you hear this lie?"

"It was Aegon..." Aemond answered. Though looking to Aegon, Alaeyna had caught the lie. The twitch in Aegons eye had given it away to her.

"And you boy, where did you hear such slanders?" Aegon remained silent, willing to be the scapegoat for his brother "Aegon! Tell me the truth of it!" Viserys yelled to which even Aelyna flinched

"We know father." Aegon cowered "Everyone knows. Just look at them." The focus shifted to the princes. Unlike Aelyna, they did not share the Targaryen trait in their silver hair. Though Laenor and Rhaenyra claimed their sons were of true Velaryon blood, the argument was difficult to uphold when held against Aelyna. She, a bastard born daughter shared more of the Targaryens blood than the heirs sons. The princes the spitting images of Lord Harwin Strong.

Viserys sighed "This interminable infighting must cease!" The king ordered "All of you! We are family!" Taking a step back as he became weaker in his legs "Now make your apologies and show good will to one another. Your father, your grandsire, your king demands this!" Viserys word echoed through the halls.

"That is insuffiecient." Alicent retorted "Aemond will bear these scars for the rest of his life, my king. Goodwill can not make him whole." Alicent pleaded "He is your son Viserys."

The cracks of their marriage played out in front of all to see as Viserys stood his ground "What would you have me do? I can not restore the boys eye."

Alaeyna shared a look of pity to the boy. Unlike his eldest sister, his father did not favor him. This was clear to see "There is a debt to be paid." Alicent said, her tearful eyes became dark as she turned to Rhaenyra who's youngest peaked from behind his mother "I shall have one of her sons eyes in return."

"Alicent, do not allow your temper to guide your judgement." Viserys warned his wife. "This matter is settled."

"If the king does not seek justice, then the queen will." Alicent warned, turning to her sworn protector "Ser Criston, bring me the eye of the prince Lucerys Velaryon."

"They can choose which eye they wish to keep. A privilege that my son was not granted."

"You will do no such thing!" Rhaenyra defended

"Stay your hand." Ser Harrold commanded

"No, you are sworn to me!" Alicent yelled back. The commander and king shared one look to one another, one that corrected Ser Criston.

"As your protector, my queen."

"Alicent, this matter is finished. Do you understand me." Viserys' tone dropped sending a final warning to his wife. "And let it be known anyone whose tongue dares question the birth of Princess Rhaenyra's sons shall have theirs be removed."

"Thank you, father." Rhaenyra thanked Viserys.

This the final nail in the coffin.

The queen's face turned stoic. Sighing once as her husband turned his back on her. In a swift Alicent charged Rhaenyra, the kings blade in her hand. Gasps, shouts and warnings bellowed through as each side held their own. Rhaenyra had caught Alicent as the blade of her father hung over her head. Firm in her stance as she held Alicent off on her own.

"Your grace, stay with the king!"

"Alicent!"

"Stay your hand!" as madness surrounded them Daemon, had intercepted Ser Criston, holding him back from nearing Rhaenyra or her children.

"You've gone too far!" Rhaenyra sneered holding her position as the blade in Alicent's hand inched closer to her face

"I?" Alicent retorted "What have I done but what was expected of me?" Though tears in her eyes, the thread of violence, anger and resentment radiated off of the queen "Forever upholding the kingdom, the family, the law. While you flout all to do as you please? Where is duty? Where is sacrifice? It's trampled under your pretty foot again!" she yelled "And now you take my sons eye, and to even that you feel entitled?"

"Exhausting, wasn't it? Hiding beneath the cloak of your own righteousness." Rhaenyra taunted her "But now they see you as you are."

Alicent released her hold of Rhaenyra, yelled as the blade cut through Rhaenyra. A silence amongst the crowds as Rhaenyra looked down to her blood trickled down to the ground.

The mask of Queen Alicent truly revealed for all to see.

Aelyna looked to the fire place, the flames danced amongst themselves as flashes played in front of her eyes again. The room divided themselves between Rhaenyra and Alicent. A dream engulfed the fire, one Aelyna had only seen in her dreams as a child.

Threads of black and green soaked in blood. Aelyna trailed behind her father to Rhaenyra's side, taking hold of his hand as her eyes shifted from the fire to be met with the lingering eyes of Aegon. The side of his face swollen and bruised as her father's thumb traced over her knuckles.

This would not be their last fight.
