Chapter 1
'We would have to give up on our three-week vacation due next month.'
Members got a feeling that someone had knocked the breath out of their body. Now they knew one thing for a fact, the girl was here to dominate.
Panic swept through their spines hearing those unholy words.
Jun Hee would be active on two posts for Bangtan; as a Production Manager and an assistant choreographer. So, Bang Shi Hyuk proposed a dance face off. To add some spice, Jun Hee went one step ahead and said, "Since I'm your Production Manager..."
"Probable Production Manager," BTS' leader interrupted to correct her.
"Keep telling yourself that," they all just wished to slap that smug look away from her face that kept taunting them further, "As I'm your to-be Production Manager I'm supposed to have extra talents. So to 'prove' my talent to you guys let's have a dance face-off - seven against one. I'll take down each one of you one by one." She emphasized the last three words as her gaze swept from each one of them in a steady motion.
Hobi jutted his chin towards RM after gathering the unanimous vote of others. It was a gamble and they had to take a chance. There wasn't much time to weigh the pros and cons but they knew there was a high probability of winning.
Jun Hee smirked knowing that she's got them exactly where she wanted them to be.
The sequence was decided by the members as their Choreographer decided to stay out of it. He told them, "It's your battle to fight, whatever I've taught you so far will help you sail your ship."
The opening of the face-off was made by Jin with some cool locking and popping moves. The steps taught by their tutor back in states came handy and being the charmer, a huge display of confidence made the act visually more pleasant.
As for as Jun Hee's performance was concerned, the kind of control she had over her every muscle, rather every cell of her body was surprising. Her pops were clean, sharp and loud. And speaking of the confidence, Jun Hee was not someone who lacked it or got intimidated by the parade demonstrating it.
That one move which made the result beyond clear was where her body froze for a second after a fast sequence and her whole body vibrated complimenting the tremor in the music.
'It isn't going to be a piece of cake.' Jimin thought.
"But it's gonna be so much fun." The Maknae whispered as he read his expression. Jimin just nodded and offered a small smile before fixing his attention ahead once more.
Before members could even catch-up on reality, the score was four down three to go. Jun Hee's steps were pretty simple throughout her every routine but the way they were weaved together in an aesthetic choreography with flawless execution gave it an upper hand every single time.
They were done testing waters. Now the burden was shifted entirely on dancer line's shoulders. Three brave warriors standing strong on their grounds with their heads held high against one beast.
V was slightly upset over his defeat but soon was very much engrossed in his thoughts fantasizing his three bandmates handsomely dressed in Hanbok sitting atop horses, ready to unsheathe their swords and slaughter their foreign enemy. He chuckled at the thought.
Now it was their Golden Maknae's turn who indeed made a grave mistake. He chose a dance style which Jun Hee knew better than the back of her hand. With his every impressive move, flip and turn members were growing further confident and smug. But even with his perfectly implemented wheel, worm step and helicopter, their choreographer was sweating buckets which confused them and drew their attention back to their competitor.
Jun Hee had a weird glint in her eyes which admittedly scared them. Just as JK posed, she ran in his direction to gain momentum and did a somersault stealing his cap in the process. Everyone was bemused to witness the height of her flip. With a smirk, she walked to stand a few inches away from Jungkook. There was a moment of sharing an intense look before she backed away.
Her impromptu choreography was drawing them in like a siren luring its prey to the rocks. It was difficult not to look at her and process something else in their brains. Like a pied piper, she had them to follow her direction. Only the alluring music was replaced by the rhythmical moves. A glimpse of her inner beast was caught as she showcased the handstands.
At that very moment, J Hope knew hip-hop or b-boying is not enough to defeat her. Members had their jaws dropped by the time she bounced back with an Applejack with a cool pose. She blew Jungkook out of the water with almost no effort.
Beads of sweat were pelting down their foreheads. Worst case scenarios flashing in front of their eyes making their armpits go itchy. They found their optimism thinning with every defeat.
Tae pressed the shoulder of his fellow liner transferring some strength through his reassuring touch.
Jun Hee loved the rebellious look in Jimin's eyes as he stepped in the battlefield, 'Not the one to step down I see.' She thought with an amused smiled.
Dance leader mumbled something in Jimin's ear earning a nod of understanding. Looking at the posture Jimin stood in, made Jun Hee's gaze falter back to Ho Seok only to find him smirking.
The charming suave dancer didn't go for locking and popping like she predicted he would, but instead chose his forte: a dance form that connects every soul with their emotions, floor contemporary.
Hobi immediately found his plan working. He internally let out a hoot of triumph.
The result was again Jun Hee winning but this time, she barely managed her victory satisfying members' quench for revenge slightly.
Hobi was pleased with her stamina but went straight for her weak spot he detected a few minutes ago. He did lyrical experimenting with body rolls and various feminine steps dancing on the beats sensually.
There was an admirable messianic zeal in his moves which made it extremely eye catchy and difficult to defeat. The strategically timed movements punctuated with few hip thrusts and sexy expressions concluded the routine.
She was thinking on her feet by this time. She picked freestyle and surrendered her body to the rhythm of the song being played. Her hips swayed in the air as she sashayed across the floor. She jabbed her hip and flailed her arm, as the music took a fast pace. The intentional, audible breaths added dynamics and texture to the dance and made it seem aesthetically pleasing.
She bounced back on the floor and posed. Beads of perspiration rolled down her forehead and she was heavily panting. She was taking long and deep breaths to reduce the palpitations, her chest raised and lowered rapidly with her breathing.
Son Seong Deuk had to fight intense pressure as he had to choose best of the best. Nevertheless, no one could deny the result he produced, a tie.
Wide array of negative emotions swirled in Jun Hee's eyes; starting from disbelief to disappointment followed by anger. She suppressed before it got too obvious. The walls built up high enough to protect her emotions from getting leaked, stood there tall and proud as her eyes hardened and an amused smirk broke on her charming features.
"I admit, Bangtan isn't just provincial talent. Definitely not another local boyband." Members heard her say while looking in Bang Shi Hyuk's eyes. Much to their delight, a contented grin plastered on their PD's face as his eyes twinkled with bliss.
"Now that both the parties seem satisfied, let's call it a day. You all didn't get to go home even last night I heard. I'll call off the rest of your practice session." He turned towards Jun Hee, "Welcome to the family!" He shook hands with her and offered her a warm smile which she returned, which definitely was a great surprise for the boys.
And now they appeared utterly confused. RM spoke up, "But WE won!"
"Oh, Nam Joon-ah we all know it was a tie. Plus only one of you could manage so much as coming close to winning over her. I'm not letting a splendid Production Manager slip out of my hands because of that!" Sometimes language was the most beautiful asset, creating a clear edge to have covert discussions overtly.
Their faces fell. Jun Hee got a clear understanding of the heated words being exchanged between the band and their founder. She knew the exact words were not meant for her ears so she patiently waited until they complied. She bit her inner cheek to refrain herself from smiling once she heard a defeated sigh escape RM's lips.
Jun Hee couldn't keep herself from saying, "Now that we have two extra weeks, let's get your dancing skills better."
Members gasped audibly and RM was once again defensive. "Our vacation isn't cancelled, it was a tie!" He sternly pointed out.
"Oh, how can I forget that? But you see it was a simple tie, not a victory." A lop-sided smile was back on her face.
"We agreed on the terms already and over and above everything, 'As I'm your to-be Production Manager I'm supposed to have extra talents'. Does that ring any bell?" It was now his turn to have a smug façade.
"Can't you be grateful for once and appreciate me giving you a week's holiday already?" She spat. In spite of her venomous words, her countenance was calm and eyes reflecting anything but anger and hatred.
"Grateful? The only time we'll be grateful will be when we see you walking out of this building to never come back!" He folded his hands showing a clear disinterest.
"Pity then. It's not happening any time soon." She shrugged.
"A week and a half." He counter-offered.
"My generosity doesn't allow me more than a week."
"Then make it, a week and a half only seems fair since it was a tie."
"Seems like your math is weak Mr. IQ 148." Joon was clearly offended by that remark. "Let's break it down for the little boy now shall we?" She mocked and the said male's jaw ticked as his fists clenched by his side.
"Your vacation was for three weeks which means twenty-one days and combined all of you are seven boys in the group. I clearly won over six and had a tie with one. Let's not argue and consider it a complete victory for math's sake.
"So, actually all of you either deserve a three day holiday or only the one who won gets complete twenty-one days. I'm being overly generous here and allowing a whole week vacation for all seven of you. So choose. Three days or seven."
Even after fifteen minutes of argument, it stayed one week – not a day less or more. They figured she was a tough negotiator and a stubbornness was ingrained in her every cell.
"I have one more proposal since it only seems fair if we think from everyone's perspective." She said, a gleam of mischief dancing in her eyes. "I'd like to propose to your choreography leader to have the whole vacation to himself, as I said before, three days divided to all or twenty-one for a single person!"
Their blood was boiling with anger when they noticed what she was trying to do. The topic was kicked out of the conversation faster than it entered. "It's either all of us or none." Ho Seok proudly said. Members were touched by his words and gesture.
For busy and hardworking K-Pop idols giving up on your vacation is the most preposterous task. He didn't even blink or consider the possibility, it showed his determination and loyalty towards his bandmates.
Jun Hee was testing their bond and they were unabashedly passing her every test. On contrary, they thought she was trying to break their bond built over years and years of trust and togetherness.
Finally, it settled on a week's vacation.

"So, I hope you got the necessary outcome from the faceoff." Bang Shi Hyuk looked at Jun Hee as the driver started driving off.
"Yes." Was her simple reply.
Everything went according to plan until she received a call.
Her boss looked worriedly at a now frowning Jun Hee, "What Happened?"
"The lease for my condo got called off. I was going to sign the agreement today but the owner said he there's an emergency and he needs the condo for himself."
Bang Shi Hyuk drowned in deep thought for some time and then offered, "Will the idea of you staying with members sound absurd to you?"
"Pardon!?"
"Look, they are not stupid hormonal teenagers. It'll only help you understand each other better. Nothing teaches you more about a person and their habits than staying under one roof. And when that happens, you'll be able to frame better policies for them. Plus it has reached my ears that you've stayed in an all-boys hostel before, the only girl there."
"That's right but–"
