Singing in the shower (JM/Pt. 2)

Most of the evening the guys talked about singing in general and asked you multiple questions, they were curious about whether you had had lessons, when the first time you had sang had been, your favorite artists.

They were just as excited as Jimin and you know they meant well, but you ended up with a headache and more crushing pressure to live up to their expectations and not just your boyfriend's now. You admired all of them so much and each of the vocals were amazing, the fact that Jimin had told them you had potential had them waiting eagerly to hear the song.

You were invited to stay for the night, but you needed a break. You asked Jimin to please take you home, he wasn't sure why you'd turn down the offer, but a car picked you two up. You were quiet during the ride. He took your hand in his and held it tightly.

Do you want me to stay over? - he asked shyly as he walked you to your apartment's door. No, it's okay, jagi. I just need to get some sleep, I'll feel better tomorrow - you said blaming it all on feeling physically unwell, not to make Jimin worry about the emotional side of it. You didn't want to talk about that part. You pecked him before opening your door and saying goodbye.

Jimin tried not to worry too much, he was worried about how you were feeling and he knew sleep would take care of that part, but he noticed you didn't look much better than when you left the studio. He hoped it was just exhaustion and everything would be fine in the morning.

The next morning you woke up to a cute selfie from him wishing you a good day, you usually loved this, but today you were not in the mood. Your thoughts instantly went back to the previous day and how stressful it had been once you saw it.

Jimin saw you had seen the message but there was no reply, he frowned, this was not like you. He decided to give you some space and not overthink about it. In the evening you still hadn't said anything so he texted you.

- Are you okay?

- Yeah, don't worry, I've just been busy - you replied and took a selfie to prove it.

When it sent you looked at it and you looked terrible, maybe that was a bad idea. You deleted the message just before it could be seen.

- What was that? - Jimin asked curiously, why would you remove anything you said.

- Nothing, it was an accident - you lied.

- There's something you don't want to tell me - he insisted and you gritted your teeth.

Seen and ignored, Jimin sighed frustrated.

The next day he sent another photo saying good morning, but it was his Chimmy plush. You couldn't help but smile - morning ChimChim - you replied. So you're talking to Chimmy and not me? - he replied playfully. Sorry - is all you typed back feeling guilty.

You drank your coffee as your phone beeped again, another message - are we still meeting at the studio tonight? You were dreading it, yet you still wanted to make him happy - yeah. Another short text, it still was not like you, Jimin was starting to worry. Had the guys said anything to upset you that night?

Later that evening you were recording again and it still wasn't going well, you were very anxious and there was no way for your boyfriend to calm you down. You started crying in frustration once more. Jimin stood up and walked over to you, hugging you from behind, wrapping his arms around you and kissing your neck - it's okay - he tried to comfort you.

No, it's not! I'm sorry, I can't do this - you said irritated. I believe in you! - he said, but you lashed out at him - no, I said I can't! - you walked out irritated and feeling terrible for not being able to do this for him no matter how hard you tried. But you just couldn't, it wasn't going to happen and unfortunately he had to accept that.

He ran after you and you turned around when he called your name to stop you - Jiminie - you said hurt and covering your face as more tears ran down your face. Is this what's bothering you? - he said feeling guilty he hadn't realized before. You put down your hands and nodded at him as you could not get out any words. He walked up to you and gave you a big hug.

I swear I did my best, it's just not coming out - you whispered against his chest in between sobs. I know, I'm sorry I pushed you so hard, I didn't mean to - he said sadly as he pulled away to look at you. I know you work under pressure and that's how you function, but I don't, I crumble - you explained and his heart sank as he saw he was putting you through the same kind of stress.

He hugged you tighter - I'm really sorry, we don't have to do this, it's okay - he said, he was sure, but he couldn't help but feel a little disillusioned. He too really wanted this to happen, but not if it was this hard on you. It was supposed to be something fun for both of you and it was anything but that right now.

You looked up at him and your lip quivered as you tried to talk, you could tell he was sad - what if we sing together, just for each other? Whichever way it comes out, no pressure, not recording. He smiled widely - I'd like that - you smiled and walked back to where he was. You sat back in the studio and once you wiped your tears again you talked - okay, I'm ready.

He handed you the sheet with the lyrics and he looked at them on his phone. Jimin started singing and you just looked at him mesmerized, he was giving his all, all his feelings invested into his singing. Your turn came and looking down at the paper, you tried to sing putting as much of your heart into it as he had and he smiled at you proud. You glanced at him for a second and caught that.

When you finished you giggled at each other happily - that was perfect - he said and pecked you. You kissed him back and you felt it when he extended an arm towards the controls and clumsily pressed his hand on them. Pulling back you asked seriously - what are you doing? - you were confused and a little suspicious.

He gave you a sheepish smile and you frowned - did you record that, Jimin? - you said with a stern voice. He looked at you with a tight smile - oh my god, you did not just do that! - you gasped and pushed him making his chair roll back. Jimin laughed airily and came closer to you.

Can we go back to that kiss, I just didn't want it to keep recording - he tried and you crossed your arms playfully angry now. He came closer and kissed you sweetly as he took your arms and wrapped them around him instead.

A few days later, you came into your apartment and you turned on the lights to find a little gift box wrapped neatly on top of your table with a single flower. You opened it and it was a CD with a little note from Jimin "I knew you could do it. You're going to love it. I love you, jagi" it read. You shook your head amused.

Taking the CD, you noticed Jimin's handwriting on it. It was your name and his with a little heart in the middle, you chuckled at the cheesiness. You put it in your computer's reader, connected the wireless speaker and took a deep breath before pressing play.

You were pleasantly surprised. To be improvised, the editing had definitely made the difference unnoticeable. You heard Jimin added some bits here and there in the background apart from the parts of the song he sang, it really brought everything together. You didn't notice how broadly you were smiling, it was actually much better than you expected.

You pulled out your phone and instantly called your boyfriend. Jiminie-ah! - you squealed when he picked up the phone. You could hear him giggling on the other side - I take it you listened to the song already - he said and you could picture the smile on his face - how did you do it? It sounds amazing! He laughed softly - what do you mean, we did it! - you stayed silent for a second - I guess we did.

Can I show it to the guys? Taehyungie and Hobi hyung are dying to listen to it - he asked and when you didn't reply immediately he continued worriedly - I won't if it would make you feel uncomfortable though, tell me if it does this time. You smiled silently at how he didn't get carried away in his excitement and thought to check with you - no, of course you can play it for them - you said encouraging him.

You pressed play on the song again, placed the laptop on the coffee table and laid back on the sofa, closing your eyes. After all the struggle, it was worth it and the tears turned into a beautiful song. It was all the more satisfying because you never imagined you could make it happen.

Does Jimin even sound like Jimin? I need to hear about you guys, don't be quiet!
