Gerard Way- You're So Weird
Your pov
"Oh my god..." I spoke in the darkness of my bedroom, "I can't sleep..." My voice was hushed, and my eyes were stuck to the ceiling.
You're the one I've always wanted... Free falling through the time after life... I'm paralyzed cause there's nothing... that can stop my fall... in the void we can hold each other... till our brains and our guts splatter all over the fucking sidewalk... together... oh machine girl... now is a bad time to be stuck in my head...
Finally, I gazed at the clock. 3am... great... I have class tomorrow... till our brains and our guts splatter all over the fucking sidewalk... together...
Together... such a strange word... to be with someone... something I yearn for... but I've never been good with that kinda thing... I'm so weird...
Strange thoughts swirled around my mind until morning. My day went on like any other day, I went to class, kept my earbuds in the entire time, and didn't speak a word to my classmates.
As I sat in my art class, I kept my head rested on my table. Mchngrl vs Wlfgrl played through my earbuds. Lazily, I turned the volume up. I love this song so fucking much... Machine Girl my love...
Then, there was a tap on my arm. I gazed up to see all of my classmates staring at me.
"What... why is everyone staring?" I asked, taking out one of my earbuds.
"Your music... we can hear it..." A girl spoke.
"Okay...?" I said, unsure of the problem.
"Can you turn it down? It's loud..." She said.
"Uhm... yeah I guess..." I did as told. Bitch...
As class finally came to an end, I packed my things away, when a boy came over to me. He had dark hair and pale skin. The boy looked like a vampire with his piercing hazel eyes and dark clothes.
"Uhm... can I help you?" I asked.
"I just... uhm..." He gazed at his shoes, nervously.
"What?" I asked, just wanting to go home. He just stood there, "Look man, I gotta go-"
"Wait!" He spoke, "I just... uhm..." The boy repeated. I stood there, waiting, "I think... I think you are cool and I liked the music you were playing it was really cool and I wanna be friends but I'm not good at making friends will you be my friend?" He finally spat out.
"Geez... you're weird..." I spoke plainly. The boy didn't know what to say as he went pale from embarrassment, "Ah man, it's nothing to be embarrassed about. I didn't mean it like that. Sorry. I uhm... I gotta go... I'm sure you have more classes... I'll see you around..."
"I don't have any classes..." He spoke, I glared at him, but he didn't catch my gaze as he stared at his shoes, "Do you have any?"
"No but I'm fucking exhausted." I finally pushed past him and began leaving the classroom.
"Wait!" Oh my fucking god...
"What!?" I asked, irritated.
"Uhm... what's your name?"
"Y/n, why are you so nervous? Calm yourself, you're making me nervous."
"Sorry... I'm Gerard..."
"Cool, well, you've managed to follow me all the way out to my car. What next?" I asked, sarcastically.
"Uhm... I... I dunno..."
"Well make up your mind, it's fucking blazing out here..." I spoke, unlocking my car.
"Can I go with you? Where are you going?"
"Home... are you just gonna follow me around? Don't you have a car? Go home or something..."
"I had to take the bus today..."
"Okay, take the bus home then." I opened my car door and set my bag inside, annoyed.
"But I don't like taking the bus. The people are weird..."
"Weirder than you?"
"Yeah..." He spoke to his shoes.
"Oh my god..." His eyes met mine.
"What?"
"You just talked to me cause you want a ride home!? Didn't you!? I can't believe this. Why didn't you just ask?" He took a step back as I became increasingly irritated.
"Uhm... I just... uhm..." The boy became anxious. I gazed at the sky, he gazed at his shoes, "I dunno I thought you were cool but I didn't wanna seem rude cause I don't know you and... yeah..."
"Wow..." I gazed back at him, "I'm not giving you a ride."
"But I-"
"No! Go away!" He just stood there, staring down at his shoes, "You're not gonna make me feel bad."
"I'm not trying to..."
"Ugh," My gaze went back to the sky, "Fuck... fine! Get in!"
"Thank you!" He ran to the passenger side and climbed in.
"Where am I taking you?"
"Uhm..." He thought for a moment.
"Oh c'mon, where the fuck you live?"
"I don't uhm... I don't wanna go home..."
"Man I'm sorry but I'm fucking exhausted. I don't wanna hang out with you. Is there anywhere else?" He shook his head, "Oh for fucks sake, don't you have any friends?"
"Three if you count my brother. They're all uhm... busy..."
"Ugh... why the fuck did you have to ask me? Out of all our classmates?" He didn't respond as I finally pulled out of the parking lot and began driving away from campus.
For the first few minutes the drive was fairly quiet; aside from the quiet music I had playing. As annoying as I found the boy, it would have been nice to hear him say something. He just stared at me. I could feel his eyes.
"Why are you staring at me?" Finally, I had broken the awkward silence.
"Uhm..." He murmured something I couldn't make out.
"What?"
"I think uhm..."
"Calm down man, I'm not gonna bite."
"Sorry, I just, think you're... pretty..."
"Pretty!? I gazed at him as we came upon a stop light, "I am literally wearing my pajamas. How the fuck do I look pretty right now?"
"I uhm... I don't mean just right now. You're pretty all the time..." My gaze went back to the road as the light turned green.
"Man, you are so weird..." I chuckled. Then once again attempted to have a real conversation with the boy, "So, why'd you have to take the bus?"
"Cause uhm... cause my brother borrowed my car last night and uhm... didn't get back before I had to leave..." I hummed.
"Why don't you wanna go home?"
"Uhm... I uhm..."
"Stop doing that! I can't understand what you're saying when you murmur..."
"It's nothing bad, I just... don't like being in the house all the time..."
"Man you are so fucking weird!" I cried as we pulled up to my apartment complex, "If you wanted to hang out with me, you could've just asked."
"But you would've said no..." We both got out of the car.
"Yeah I woulda. Then I could fucking sleep."
"Why're you so tired?" I grabbed my bag and led Gerard up to my apartment.
"Because I haven't slept in three days," Once I unlocked the door, he followed me inside, "Look man, I'm not exactly up to hang out with you so, here," I handed him the tv remote, "Do not disturb me." And with that I went into my bedroom and flopped onto my bed. Sleep finally managed to take me under, but it did not last long.
"Y/n!" I gazed up to see my roommate, "Why is there a weird boy in the living room!?" I shrugged, "He says he knows you!"
"What?" I asked, barely comprehending what she was saying. He then walked into the room, "Oh god, it's you again!" I cried, shoving my face into a pillow, "Man, just go away... you are so annoying..."
Immediately, I heard fast footsteps and the front door closing.
"Finally..." I spoke to myself.
"Uhum..." My roommate was still in the room.
"What!?" I asked, gazing at her.
"You are such a dick. Go apologize to him!"
"The fuck did I do!?" She then shoved me off my bed, "Ow! Fucker!" I groaned, but got off the floor.
"Go talk to that boy!"
"Why should I? He won't leave me alone..."
"Because you're acting like an ass. Go!" She pointed towards the door.
"Motherfucker, ugh..." I did as told. Gerard stood in front of my car as he had nowhere else to go.
"Hey..." I began, "Sorry, I uhm, I'm just really fucking tired man." He just gazed at his shoes, I stood next to him. A silence sat between us for a few seconds.
"I'm sorry I annoyed you, I can go. I just, don't know how to talk to people..."
"It's alright... I'm bad at talking to people too... but I mean, it's okay."
"Nah you don't have to do this, I can go, I know you don't like me..."
"Gerard I never said I didn't like you."
"But you called me annoying."
"Yeah... and I'm sorry... really, I am. I just..." I sighed, "I get really uhm... mean... when I'm tired..."
"Oh... I see... I mean, I should probably go anyways... I know how tired you are..."
"Nah," I sighed, "You can stay..."
"Really!?" He spoke so excitedly.
"Yeah..."
"Cool!" I led him back up to my apartment, the two of us sat in my bedroom. Or rather, I laid in bed on the verge of sleep and he sat there, admiring my walls.
"So uhm..." He began, "I've been wondering, what was that music that you were listening to?" I hummed, "In class?"
"In class? What was I listening to in class?" I asked myself, "Uhm..." My tired brain had become foggy for a moment, "Oh! Machine Girl?"
"Is that what it's called?" He asked.
"Yeah, you wanna listen?"
"Yes..."
"Uhm, okay..." I got up and lazily fidgeted with my speakers until it began playing the all too familiar electronic sounds. Once done, I laid back down, but faced Gerard who sat on the floor.
"Machine Girl is like, one of my favorites..." I began, "They like... I don't even know man... I'm so tired I can't even... ugh..." My hands went to my face.
"It's uhm... it's really good..." He spoke.
"Yeah... I know..." I yawned, "I uhm... I really... really like them..." My eyelids began to get heavy.
"Man you are so tired..."
"Yeah no... no shit dipshit..."
"So uhm... uhm... why haven't you been sleeping?"
"I dunno..." My fingers rubbed my eyes, "I've had a lot on my mind I guess..."
"Like what?"
"Like..." I now laid on my back, staring at the ceiling, "Uhm... I dunno if you really wanna hear about that stuff..."
"I don't mind..." His eyes were on me, I gazed into them and smiled.
"You're sweet Gerard," My eyes went back to the ceiling, "And so fuckin' weird..." There was a moment of silence where his eyes were stuck to me, "Gerard, you're staring again..."
"Sorry..." But he only gazed away for a moment, "Anyways, uhm... what's keeping you up at night?"
"It's stupid..."
"Uhm... I mean... it can't be that stupid if it's keeping you up at night..." I gazed back at him, then sighed.
"I'm lonely and depressed and keep getting machine girl songs stuck in my head."
"I uhm... I get the same feeling..."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah..." He spoke, "I think it's... it's why I'm so weird..."
"Being weird isn't a bad thing y'know..." I began, "I mean... yeah, it can be bad... but, you're not weird in a bad way..." I yawned, "All the best people are fuckin' freaks..." He smiled, "You're kinda cute when you smile like that..."
"What!?" He asked, now a light shade of pink. I chuckled, then moved so I was closer to him. His gaze was glued to me, as always. My fingers caressed his face.
"Yeah... you're uhm..." I yawned, "You're pretty cute man..."
"No I'm not..." He waved my hand away.
"Don't give me that, you so totally are..." I gazed into his eyes, but they didn't dart away this time, "You're like..." I yawned, "A vampire... but like..." I yawned again, "A really cute one... you're not scary or anything... just... uhm..." I yawned once more, "adorable..."
I now struggled desperately to keep my eyes open. The pretty boy on my floor just kept staring at me.
"You're weird..." He spoke.
"Yeah... I know..." And with that I was out.
A few hours later I awoke to see it was dark outside. My music still played. Tiredly, I got up to turn it off, but my foot stepped on something strange.
"Ow! Oh my god... ow..." I immediately jumped away.
"What the fuck!? What are you-" I gazed down to see Gerard, clutching his stomach in pain, "The fuck you still doing here..?" Finally, I turned off the music.
"I fell asleep I guess..." He sat up, but still clutched his stomach, "I can go home... or I mean, I guess, uhm... I don't have my car..."
"Right..." I rubbed my tired eyes, "I'm not driving you home. You can... you can stay..."
"Cool..."
"Just uhm, get off the floor, man..." I laid back in bed.
"Where should I sleep then?"
"Is the couch taken?"
"Uhm..." He opened my bedroom door. I gazed up to see someone occupying it.
"Damn," I rested my head back down, "Sorry, I didn't realize my roommate had other people staying over tonight..." He shut the door.
"It's okay..." He sat down on the floor.
"Gerard, I'm not letting you sleep on the floor."
"I don't mind..."
"C'mere!" I held a hand out towards him.
"Hmm?"
"C'mon!"
"You want me to sleep on the bed...? With you!?"
"That's the idea..."
"Are you sure it's okay...?"
"I don't care, it's not like we're gonna fuck," I paused for a moment, "You're not gonna try to fuck me, are you?" He shook his head, finally taking my hand, "Good..." I moved over so he could lay beside me.
"Uhm... I've uhm..."
"Gerard, no need to be nervous..." I spoke, eyeing the ceiling. His eyes were on me.
"Sorry, I've never shared uhm... shared a bed with a girl before..." My eyes gazed into his, which immediately darted away.
"Really? I never..." I yawned, "... I mean I thought you'd have had someone..." He stayed silent.
"No wonder you're so weird..." I quietly chuckled, "Have you even kissed a girl?"
"No..." He spoke, honestly, "Well... I mean... I dunno... not really... I guess..."
"Do you want to?" His gaze finally met mine again, keeping a silence that spoke louder than words. I smiled, then began to laugh, desperately trying to stay quiet.
"What?"
"I really shouldn't..."
"Shouldn't what?" But he knew, "You're tired."
"Hmm?"
"You don't wanna kiss me. You're exhausted."
"Maybe I am..." I was. My eyelids wouldn't stay open, "C'mere..." My arms were outstretched.
"What are you doing?"
"You're warm..." He came close to me, I clung to him and kissed the side of his head with a smirk, "Haha! You have officially been kissed by a girl!"
"I don't think that counts..."
"Fine..." My fingers twirled around in his hair, "Remind me in the morning then..." And finally, I had fallen asleep. There were no more interruptions... until morning.
"Y/n! Y/n..." I quietly groaned into whatever was keeping me so warm, "Y/n..." I heard my bedroom door open, "Hey, I- oh my god, we agreed to tell each other when we were having boys over! Ugh..."
"Boys...?" I finally opened my eyes, and realized.
"Hmm?" The boy rubbed his tired eyes.
"Oh... well, you didn't say anything about the guy on the couch last night."
"That's... that's different I uhm... he wasn't sleeping in my bed!" She sighed, "I just... man what the fuck did I need you for?" She gazed at the ceiling, thinking, "Ugh! Never mind..." And she was gone.
"Uhm... hi..." The boy spoke.
"Good morning," I sat up, and yawned, "Oh my god I actually slept! Holy shit! Oh my god..." A smile spread across my face that soon vanished, "But I'm still tired..." I fell back into bed, "Fucking hell..." And I buried myself under my blankets.
"I uhm..." Gerard began. I gazed up.
"Oh right, I can take you home..." Lazily I began getting out of bed.
"Y/n... you said something last night..."
"What did I say? I can't remember shit..." I began putting on my shoes. He stood up, gazing at me.
"Uhm... well... you told me to remind you to kiss me in the morning..."
"What!?" I gazed up, astonished.
"I should... I should explain..." He did so. I kept my gaze on him.
"Man... you are so fucking weird..." I laughed.
"No! But it's true! I mean, you don't have to kiss me if you don't want to... but uhm... it did happen..."
"I dunno," I stood up, keys in hand, "Sounds fake to me..." He followed me out the door and down to my car.
"You were really out of it..." I hummed. We now sat in my car.
"Where do you live?"
"Oh, uhm..." He gazed around for a second, then pointed, "That way."
"Cool..."
"Hey uhm... do you really think I'm weird?"
"Yes," I deadpanned, "But it's not a bad thing. I'm weird as fuck dude."
"No way..."
"Dude, you don't even know me man..."
"Could I get to know you?"
"What's that supposed to mean? You wanna be friends? Like, for real?"
"I mean... if you don't mind..."
"Well... I've been around you this long... might as well..."
"Cool..." I pulled into the driveway of a shabby looking home. Gerard began grabbing his things.
"Wait," He gazed at me with his bag in hand.
"What?"
"C'mere..."
"What...?"
"C'mere!"
He brought himself closer to me. I grabbed onto his cheeks, and pressed my lips to his. The bag dropped back onto the car floor. When I pulled away, his face had become a light shade of pink.
"Wha... why... what... what was... oh..."
"Thanks for reminding me. See ya around..."
"Uhm... uh... uhm..."
"Oh quit being so nervous..." I leaned over and kissed his cheek, "Bye..." He sat there, staring. My hand waved in front of his face, "Gerard...? Dude...? You good...?"
"I'm... uhm... oh shit," He finally snapped out of it and quickly grabbed his bag, "I'll uhm... I... uhm..." He stopped himself, "Bye..." And he was off.
"Man he is so weird..."
