Frank Iero- Things are Complicated
Frank's pov
Mikey and I stood, leaning against the lockers as the other students hurried off to their classes and wherever else they needed to go.
"Y/n! Hey, what's going on?" I asked as polite as possible. She just ignored me and kept walking down the hall. Most likely to her next class.
"How do you know her?" Mikey leaned over and asked.
"She saved my life." I simply explained.
"Not a surprise." He responded.
"To be honest, I think she hates me."
"Also, not a surprise," He plainly stated, "Wanna head to class?"
"Sure," We stood up from the lockers and walked to our history class.
"Hey, isn't that the girl from earlier?" Mikey asked, I glanced up to see her talking with the teacher. She then took a seat in the back. That's weird, did she switch her classes? I don't think she was in this class before...
"Yeah..."
"Okay class, pull out your books and turn to page sixty nine. We'll be talking about..." I ended up tuning out the teacher and found myself staring at her.
"What even happened between you two?" Mikey whispered.
"It's complicated. I'll explain later." He nodded and brought his attention back to the teacher. Class finally ended and I decided to make my way over to Y/n in the back of the class.
"Hey Y/n, how are things?" How are things? How lame was that...
"Nothing much, you?" She dead panned, slinging her bag over her shoulders.
"Same here. What class do you have next?"
"Science, I have to go." She walked off.
"Alright, good talk. Good talk..." I brought my eyes to my shoes.
"What was that?" Mikey leaned against her desk.
"I don't know. I'm trying to be friendly, but nothing's working." I responded.
"I don't think that's the problem. I think whatever's happened between you two is," We went to our next class in silence and took our seats. The bell rang and the teacher began talking, but finished rather fast and handed out a worksheet, "So, what's going on between you two? I might be able to help y'know."
"Alright..."
Flashback to the Friday before
"Hey! Frank, get the fuck back over here!" I hid behind a trashcan as Brendon tried to make his way to me. I didn't do much. I just sent an overly confident freshman to do 'his worst' to Brendon for a Monster. I guess he found out I was the one who sent him.
I looked towards where a chocolate milk covered Brendon stood, looking pissed as fuck. Then, his gaze met mine and before I knew it I was running for dear life.
"Frank! I'm gonna kill you! Get the fuck back over here!"
"Ahh I'm so sorry... s'cuse me... pardon me... sorry... sorry..." I was trying to make my way out of the high school as Brendon was sprinting towards me.
I proudly made it outside, right in front of the doors, thinking I had lost him. But I was wrong. I felt a pull on my hood and was swiftly turned around to see Brendon's face, dripping with chocolate milk and anger filled his eyes. I'm dead!
"Frank! I'm gonna beat you till your entire face is so punched in it'll be unrecognizable for the rest of your life!" He laughed cynically. Oh fuck...
Just as he was about to swing, I heard the sounds of cars. We had made it to the middle of the parking lot. Brendon let go of me and I looked to see a car aimed right for me.
"Oh shit!" Before I could move, I felt a push. I fell to the ground, along with whoever pushed me. I looked to see a lovely girl on top of me, "Hey sweetheart, what's goin' on?" I smirked. She got off of me and helped me up, "I'm Frank."
"I'm Y/n, are you okay?" She asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine. You?"
"I'm alright. I-I'll see you around, I guess..." She started to walk off.
"Wait! You saved my life. Can I do something for you?" I walked over and stood beside her.
"No, there's no need." She spoke fast.
"Come on, there's go-" I began, but was soon interrupted.
"Frank! I'm not done with you!" Brendon stomped over and grabbed my shirt collar before I could even attempt to make a run for it.
"Let go of him!" Y/n yelled, trying to get him off me.
"It's alright princess. I don't need you getting hurt over this." She just looked stunned as Brendon began to punch my face. A circle of students began to form. My vision began to get blurry. I felt as if I couldn't breathe as tears fell.
Then, I heard yelling. I couldn't make out what it was. He dropped me. I fell to the ground and couldn't move. Although my hands were shaking way too much. Someone came over and crouched next to me.
"Frank? Are you okay? Can you hear me?" I could barely make out what the pretty girl was saying, nonetheless who she was.
"H-help," Was all I could get out. I felt someone pick me up and help me stand, "I-I'm okay." I almost fell over again, but she caught me before I could hit the ground.
"Are you sure?" She giggled. What a cute laugh...
"Do you want me to take you home?" I nodded and almost fell into her. She caught me before I could. She drove me to my house and took me into the bathroom where I sat on the toilet seat as she did her best to clean up my face.
"I probably look pretty badass with all these battle wounds, huh?" She laughed and gave me an 'are you serious?' sort of look.
"Sure, you don't look like your face has just been shoved into a blender at all." She sarcastically said. I laughed.
"Hold still, I'm almost done." She said through her dying laughter, "And... there."
"How do I look?"
"Like a pro wrestler." We both laughed as I took a look in the mirror.
"If you want, you can stick around for awhile. I've got nothing to do and my parents are out." Please say yes...
"Okay, I don't have anywhere else to go." She walked into the living room and sat down, with me close behind.
"How come I've never seen you before? Our school is pretty small, and I'm sure I wouldn't miss your pretty face." She sheepishly smiled as she brought a strand of hair behind her ear.
"I've gone to the same school as you for years. We've had several classes together." I looked at her confused.
"But I've never seen you. That's impossible."
"I've been here the whole time Frank, maybe you just didn't make an effort to notice me," She laughed at my astonishment, "I've definitely noticed you. Always getting into trouble and things."
"Hey, do you wanna do something? Like, go somewhere?" I asked.
"Where?"
"I don't know, wherever the road takes us?" She laughed.
"Alright, why not." She got up and we got into her car. We drove around and talked about random things until we found ourselves at a small diner. We got out, found a booth, and ordered.
Flashback over
"That doesn't sound so bad." Mikey said.
"Yeah, well it's what happened afterwards that's making her upset. I'm not even entirely sure what happened or how it happened. It's all kind of a blur. But clearly, she remembers." I explained to him.
"Interesting," He responded just as the bell for lunch rang. We went to lunch and sat down with the other boys. They talked about stuff as Mikey leaned over, "Hey, isn't that her? Maybe you should go talk to her." He quietly said.
"You think so? I don't know, I'm pretty sure she hates my guts."
"Go talk to her, you clearly like her and sitting around isn't going to do anything. Just try to have a civilized conversation with her." He said.
"Yeah, I guess you're right but if I die, it's your fault." I got up and walked towards her.
"Hey Y/n, how's it going?" I asked.
"How's it going!? That's all you have to say!? I can't believe you even have the audacity to speak to me!" I just stood there, stunned.
"You have no idea what I'm talking about, do you?" I shook my head, she rolled her eyes, "Of course you don't, would you like a reminder then? Let's see, you've trashed my car, trashed my house, had the cops called on my brother, gotten drunk in my bedroom, and broke my phone! What I don't understand is how you managed all that, plus more in just a weekend! How is that possible!?"
My gaze was on my shoes as she stopped for a moment, I was expecting a slap to the face or something worse but I got something entirely different.
"The worst part is, I can't seem to get you off my mind." Lifting my gaze to her, I began.
"Really? I can't stop thinking about you." She still looked annoyed, but less.
"Well, what do we do now?" She asked, avoiding eye contact.
"I could kiss you? Y'know, to seal the deal?" She scoffed.
"Please, you did plenty of that over the weekend." I did?
"Well, I don't care." I leaned in and pressed my lips to hers.
