Human- Part 2 (Minicat)

(A/N:) Okay, so part twooooooooo
Let's just jump right into it-
-----/////-----/////-----/////-----
3rd POV (Tyler):

I can fake a smile....

Tyler handed a young girl her coffee over the counter, his polite smile falling as she walked away. It was getting closer to the end of his shift and he couldn't wait to get out of there. Why had he ever decided to work at Starbucks? The world may never know. Soon the clock struck 8 and he started to break down the small shop, wiping down the counter and tables with a small rag. He looked longingly out the window, ready to be on his way. Walking down the street was a guy about his age, hands in his pockets as he went. Behind him were three younger males that snickered amongst themselves, their eyes occasionally darting to the man farther up the street. Nervously, Tyler watched them. They definitely looked like they were up to no good but, that wasn't his business. A voice caught his attention and he turned to look at his manager where he stood in the door to the staff room. "Ready to go?" He asked impatiently, glancing at his watch.

I can force a laugh.....

"Yea," Tyler said, rolling his eyes as he threw the dirty rag into the sink. He actually hated his manager. He was a lazy piece of shit that did absolutely nothing except bitch and flash dirty glances at the baristas, which in his opinion, were nothing but a bunch of minimum wage peasants that didn't deserve his precious time of day.

"Alright, don't forget to lock the door," the overly dressed man sighed, tapping his foot slightly. "I'm going to go." He stated bluntly and Tyler turned away, not even bothering to respond.

As soon as the manager left, Tyler slipped off his uniform and folded it up, putting it on an empty shelf beneath the counter. With a small breath of relief, Tyler flicked off the lights, heading to the door, finally free from his mundane job. As he shut and locked the door, he pulled out his phone, checking for any new notifications, which of course, there weren't any.

A sudden shout grabbed his attention, "You're gonna die, fucker!"

With a jolt, he looked up, his eyes adjusting to the dark street. His eyes landed on the same group of thugs that he had seen before crowded in a back alley. It took Tyler a moment to realize that they were beating the shit out of someone. In a moment of adrenaline, Tyler launched himself across the street toward them, waving his arms slightly. "Hey!" He shouted, his voice filled with conviction and false anger as he approached. The first thug looked up, his furious eyes landing on Tyler with a wild spark. Tyler, despite himself, didn't hesitate to glare back. "What the hell do you think you're doing?" He stormed up to them, fists clenched as he stood his ground. It was clear that the three younger men were sizing him up.

"Why don't you m-" The first started but was cut off as a slightly smaller male gripped his arm, shaking his head.

"It ain't worth it, bro," He uttered and the third  thug nodded in agreement.

Despite how much he wanted to pummel Tyler, the first thug nodded and the three dispersed, vanishing from the alley. Tyler watched them go for a bit, making sure that they didn't decide to come back. A small groan caused him to jump and he looked down to see a man, the one that had passed by the front of his store earlier. He had a bruised face and blood dripped from the corner of his mouth. He looked small and battered. Tyler, worried for the strangers health, crouched down and felt for a pulse. He froze when his fingers were met with the smooth and cold feel of metal. He pulled back the sleeve to see a completely metal arm.

He was one of them.

Craig rolled his head to the side, exhausted after getting the ever living shit beaten out of him. "Just kill me..." Craig uttered and Tyler looked up at him, his fingers still frozen in place on the strangers metal wrist.

"Sorry, no can do..." Tyler said and moved to Craig's side, examining him further. He'd heard of people like him but, never before had he met one. I guess that it wasn't under very good circumstances but still.

"Ugh, but why not?" Craig croaked, opening his eyes to look at the guy crouched before him.

"Well," Tyler began, moving toward the wall that Craig was slouched against, "you need help." Tyler stated, eyeing the beaten man. "Can you walk?" he asked, his eyes fixating on the fake glassy eye that the stranger possessed.

"Probably not.... He paused, mulling over his situation, "but, why do you want to help me anyways? I'm not like you....I'm a freak." Craig muttered spitefully under his breath.

I can dance and play the part.....

Craig could feel Tyler staring at him and looked down, trying to lift himself up off the ground. He winced as pressure on his bad leg caused pain to shoot up his body. His balance was compromised and he felt himself falling back, fulling expecting to hit the ground. Craig was surprised to find the stranger's arm around his shoulder, keeping him upright. Looking up at him, Craig was met with a small smile.

If that's what you ask....

It was almost genuine.

Tyler felt how uneasy the other man was and sighed. What did people do to him that he was so unsure to take a helping hand. Of course, he had seen those guys beating him up but, this mans issues seemed to be far more deep seated then that. He noticed that he was still having issues with walking and took it upon himself to help out more. He crouched down and wrapped his arm around the back of the injured males knees.

"What are you-" Craig started but, was cut off as the stranger quiet literally swept him off his feet. Fear of falling gripped him and he hastily wrapped his arms around the stranger's neck. He realized what he was doing and quickly let go. "Put me down," he demanded. He never realized just how tall this man truly was until he looked at the considerable distance between him and the ground.

"Uh, no," Tyler said, walking out into the nearly empty and quickly darkening street, "you need to go to the hospital and you sure as hell ain't making it there on your own." he said. It was clear that Craig was nervous, glancing up and down the street. "Hey, calm down. You're starting to make me feel anxious." He laughed slightly, carrying Craig to the side of his car. He let him down onto his good leg and walked around to the drivers side, getting in and motioning for Craig to do the same. Craig hesitated but, despite himself, obliged, getting into the car slowly. "Ya know what?" Tyler started, turning his key and starting the car.

"What?" Craig asked, looking to him for a moment.

Tyler chuckled to himself, aware of how dumb this was going to sound, "For as much metal as you have on you, you're actually pretty light." he stated.

"Well," Craig looked out the window at the passing night scenery, "I'm only human."
