Mini Ladd X Reader

"Yo, you wanna go Starbucks?" You paused the game you were playing to look at Craig, who was seated next to you, scrolling through his phone.

"Why not?" You agreed, leaving the controller on the table as you went to retrieve some shoes. Craig groaned as he pulled himself off the sofa, following you into the kitchen whilst stretching out the ache in his shoulder from gaming the entire day.

"Good; I'm dying for a coffee right now."

"You won't sleep tonight you know."

"I don't care." Craig grinned and waved it off, pulling on his jacket before leaving through the back door, leaving you with a sad smile before following him into the cool mid-evening air.

"Wait, where are we going?"You were on the way back to Starbucks when Craig suddenly took a right turn, making you question his motive

"Doesn't matter." Craig brushed off your question without as much as a flinch. "What time is it?"

"13 minutes past 6. Why?"

"No reason." You decided not to question him further, since he seemed determined to not give anything away. So you both sat in silence, your mind focused on the blurred greenery that passed you through the car window.

"We're here." Craig said, pulling into a small curve that deviated from the roads otherwise parallel path. You undid your seatbelt, brow creased in confusion. You were overshadowed by swaying tree's of every variety, the branches parting to show the slowly darkening sky. Apart from the tranquil rustling of the leaves, there was bare silence; which you found oddly calming.

"You coming?" You turned to see Craig disappearing through a small pathway, his lean figure melting into the greenery. You quickly followed after him, afraid he would fade completely. You soon caught up, the narrow pathway forcing you to trail a few steps behind him. He didn't say anything, further confusing you; but you had no choice but to bear with it and him through the slightly overgrown path. He suddenly stopped, almost making you walk straight into him.

"Cover your eyes."

"Why?"

"Just do it." You tried to see what he was hiding, but the overgrown path and his broad frame blocked you from seeing anything further ahead.

"Fine." You sighed dramatically and closed your eyes; feeling your heart jump when Craig grabbed you hand, gently pulling you forwards for what felt like a few metres before halting once again. You felt the back of your knee's hit something solid, and seated yourself on what was most likely a bench. You felt Craig seat himself next to you before speaking.

"Okay, you can look now." You began to open your eyes, flinching when a bright light struck you. Once you adjusted to the light you dared to look up, witnessing a beautiful sight. You were stood on some sort of overhang, small trees framing the indescribably beauty of the sunset. The sky was streaked with fiery orange and mellow sulphur, flecked with dashes of magenta and deep crimson; the array of colours dazzling you to a point where you were lost in the natural phenomenon. You watched as the sun began to slowly sink, your own heart following its movements.

You suddenly felt the urge to rest you head on Craig's shoulder, but before you realised it you'd already acted on it. You expected him to say something, but instead he just shuffled closer. You both watched as the sun slowly disappeared from view, leaving you in the waning light of dusk. You started a little when Craig slipped his hand into your own; the warmth of his palm making your heart beat rapidly.

"Craig..." You looked up at him with wide eyes.

"Hmm?" He only hummed in response. You smiled and felt an overwhelming surge of love for the Brit.

"I love you."

"Love you too gorgeous."
