Daithi De Nogla X Reader

You were halfway through making a milkshake in preparation for your Netflix and Chill movie marathon, a tradition you and David had started up a while ago. It was fun, spending time with your best friend and being able to help him out with the puppy. Straining your ears you could identify whatever was making that sound was human, although by it could easily be an angel by the way is sounded; sweet and alluring, tempting your natural curiosity to investigate the melody. You abandoned your milkshake and began to roam through the house, attempting to locate the cause of the sound. It became louder as you climbed the stairs, where you paused and eyed David's bedroom door; which was slightly ajar. The sound was definitely coming from in there. You held your breath and tried to discern the words of the heavenly song.

"Your looks, could kill, the pain I feel~ your thrills are all I, want to gain~ I've been, hoping, and soul, searching~ to find, it in, the one~" It sounded like a sappy love song; which you weren't generally a big fan of, but this one seemed oddly charming. Maybe because David was singing it so beautifully.

Suddenly you heard the strum of an incorrect chord and a small stream of cursing, followed by a sigh. You pushed open the door, seeing David slumped in his gaming chair, guitar rested on his lap and eyes closed. You walked further in, your eyes fixed on David's peaceful expression as you neared him. You jumped a little when he cracked open an eye, gazing back at you with a calm hazel look. There was a few seconds where neither of you spoke, just casually held each other's gaze in silence; but you decided to break it before things got too awkward.

"New song?" You asked somewhat rhetorically, while seating yourself on the edge of his mattress. The only response you received was a dramatic groan which made you laugh slightly. "What's it called?"

"Huh? Oh, 'Your Love'." As soon as he finished speaking, your mind suddenly dove towards the idea of a mystery girl David had fallen madly in love with.

"That's cute." You said absent-mindedly, swinging your legs slightly as you tried to push away the thought that David had written this song for someone else, some other girl. It hurt to even think of it.

"Hey, you okay there?" David's deep Irish tones brought you back from your daydreams, and you suddenly realised your vision was blurry with tears. You blinked hastily to try and clear your eyes, but in vain. You didn't see David get up and approach you with a worried look on his face. You jumped when he placed a concerned hand on your shoulder.

"..." You said nothing, merely staring up at the brunette with wide, tear-brimmed eyes; trying desperately to keep your erratic emotions under control. David looked crestfallen as he studied your solemn features.

"Y-You're... crying?"

"I'm not crying!" You fiercely defended yourself as you rose to your feet, furiously rubbing your eyes as you made your way to the door. But before you could exit the room, a hand grabbed your sleeve and stopped you in your tracks. Your heart began to beat inconsistently, a blush rising to your cheeks as you felt sparks ripple up your spine. You swallowed nervously, too afraid to turn around and meet David's worried green gaze.

"What's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong."

"Uhuh." The Irishman just mumbled in response, his gaze still fixated on your downcast expression.

"Look, David." You took a deep breath and tried to calm your frayed nerves. "Sometimes I feel like- No, umm... nevermind. It doesn't matter."

"It does matter! Of course it matters!" You didn't reply. You didn't know what to say. You couldn't think of how to put it into words; how much you loved him but was too scared to admit it. Too scared to think that he would reject your feelings. David had released his grip on your sleeve and instead pulled you into a comforting hug, his taller frame enveloping your own as you quietly buried your head into his chest and quietly sobbed into his jacket for a few minutes. Once you were finished, you pulled away, rubbing your eyes before meeting his gaze once again.

"You matter. You mean the world to me! So don't you dare tell me it doesn't matter!" He said in a determined tone, making your heart stop momentarily. There was a long stretch of silence before you decided to speak again.

"David I... I really really like you and- and I want to be with you, like a girlfriend. But I-"

"G-girlfriend?!" David exclaimed, startling you slightly. He suddenly turned a bright shade of red, scratching the back of his head in a self-conscious way. "So... will you be my girlfriend? Officially?"

"I uh- Sure!" You smiled widely, feeling the weight lifted from your shoulders instantly, an overwhelming tsunami of emotions overcoming you and flooding away all the nervous anxiety you'd held in your heart for so long. David pulled you closer before enrapturing you in a passionate kiss, his arm gently curled around your waist.
