Damon slipped his head under the water. He opened his eyes watching throught the water into nothingness and the blured vision travelled away into a daydream. 

"Bon..."- he got out of the bath- "what are you doing here?"

"What am I doing here?! Let me see."- she put her deep thinking face on and tje neared him playfuly-"Maybe I had enough of pretending and maybe I have come to do this- she now kissed him and Damon pulled her right into the tub with him.

"Daamon!!"- Stefan's voice now brought him back to the rude reality.

"WHAT?"- Damon swished out of the bath dressing within a second as Stefan relied that Lily had opened the mock door leading into a secret tunnel.

All three of them now went down the steps leading undearneath the house, coming to a big chamber room that looked like a glorified wine cellae, but instead there were chairs arranged in a circle and a desk and five chest of drawers. She frantically looked for something among very dusty boxes.

"I think it's time

Lily went to, what would be a third chest of drawers opening the second drawer. She whizzed through all the boxes that were there annoyd that one item she was looking for was missing.

"And what is it that we are looking for??"- Damon demanded in a sarcastic tone of voice.

"A compass!"-Lily said.

"A compass??"- Damon repeated-"maybe you could tell us why and what the hell has gone into you all of a sudden?"

Lily now faced Damon with a serious look-"Have you really researched the Gemini witches??"

"Please, can you just give me a straight answer?!"-Damon eas losing his patience.

Stefan listened to them, but found interest in a series of books written in an unknown language. They were perfectly preserved.

"Mother, I think it is time you talked... and startung with the real truth would be nice!!"- Damon now urged Lily to finally come forward with what she was hiding.

"You want the truth??"- Lily sighed.

"It would be a good start for us!!"- Stefan now joined them.

"I don't think you will like the truth!!"- Lily then went on.

"Try us!!"- Damon said. Stefan seconded that.

Lily now took a deep breath. Many times, during her imprisonment she thought of her life, mulling over and over again all the events that had happened. At times she wished she did die of TBC.

"You know how much your father hated vampires, but you don't know why, and it wasn't because of me!"- Lily then said.

"Well, he sure built this secret meeting place!"-Damon said.

"You're grandfather did. Georgio Salvatore."

"Grandfather?"- Stefan then said.

"Giuseppe hated him. He invented the story about him having died in New York. The truth is he was the one that built the Boarding House, the first one. Part of it was burnt down... so the one you see now is the improved one."

"This is going to be a long night"-Damon then said. -"I guess this grandfather of ours had simething to do with this compass?"

"He was a warlock!"- Lily said adding-"He is the founder of the Witch's Council, that later was just known as The Council. And the compass I am lookung for is a device showing the place that is the source of the magic!"
"Let me guess, one of your witch heretic friends needed it!"- Damon said.

"It's leverage!!"- Lily said-"for you!!

"What are yiu saying??"- Stefan now looked at their mother.And all of a sudden something became so very clear to him -

"You duped them all!!"
Srefan looked as if he had an epiphany-
Damin looked at his brother and then at Stefan. Lily's eyes watered. For the first time in a long while sje felt she was home, free, and there was hope again.

Stefan continued-
"I watched you with them, and it was likevwatching a bad play. Now it makes sense. They were with you because they had figured out who you were and they wanted this compass, right??"

Lily noded.

"Being weak they tried to find ways to get to the source of magic, hoping to make them strong witches?!!"- Damon concluded.

"I told them I would give them what they wanted, just to get away from them. You can't really get away from them!!"

"But why didn't you leave them in the fake world?? Why did you want to go back there??"- Damin continued.

"Because that witch stayed behind!! And if I killed him, he would not have come back!!"-Lily said.

"Why didn't you told us that from the beginning?"- Stefan asked.

"I work alone!"- Lily said.

"Well, alone didn't get you anywhere!"-Damon said-"this is a family thing, plus we don't respond to leverege threats.."
Damon took his phone and dialled Bonnie. He went back up to the lounge to talk to her.

"But the device is not here?!"- Stefan said.

"No. There is only one other place where it could be"- Lily said.

"Where?"-Stefan asked.

"His grave!"- Lily replied.

"I am with Caroline and Elena in the Grill- actually having some good time!"- Bonnie said to Damon.

He then quickly sent a message to Stefan letting him know he was heading to the Grill.

"Why is he coming?? I thought we are having one night without guys, just us!!"- Elena complained.

"Something's come up!"- Bonnie said.

"Something is always up with Damon!"- Elena sifted.

"Won't be long"- Bonnie said and walked out to meet Damon outside.

"Forget it!"- Caroline said-"Bonnie will dwal with him whatever it is"

"Right!"- Elena said taking her bear bottle. As she was about to take a sip, she stopped still looking at the person that entered the bar.

"Elijah..."- she uttered.
Caroline turned her head and nearly in the same amazement looked in the direction of the Original vampire, who was now approaching them.

Bonnie slipped in Damon's car just before Elijah got to the Grill, so they missed seeing him.

"Talk!"- Bonnie said.

Damon now told her all that had happened earlier in the Boarding house.

"OMG! Seriously??"- Bonnie said.

Damon drove them close to  Boarding house and then stopped.

"Is something wrong?"- Bonnie asked.

"Yep. I don't trust my mother. When she finds the damn compass device thing she will sell it to the highest bidder."-

"The highest bidder will be Joshua Parker!"- Bonnie said-"I am surprised she told you about it!"

"She is playing us, and she is securing herself if things go wrong"- Damon then said.

Then they saw Stefan and Lily getting out of the house into Stefan's car.

Damon's phone buzzed and he looked at the message from Stefan.

"on the way to Withmore cemetery"

Bonnie's phone buzzed as well and it was Caroline-
"where are u? Guess, who is in town- Elijah!yes, the Original one!"

Bonnie quickly replied-
"Busy with Salvatore stuff."

They were now on their way to Withmore as well. All of a sudden they were quiet. Bonnie looked out of the window into the night.

"If you could be any more silent I would just be able to hear you!"-Damon tried to be not so witty.

"Just thinking"- Bonnie said.

"I remember your thinking face was much different then this one"

"Will you stop taunting me!"- Bonnie said all of a sudden.

"Tauting you?! How am I taunting you??"

"Can you drive faster??"- she then said.

Damon stopped abruptly in the middle of the road.

"What now? Please can you just drive?!"

"The kiss was not just a kiss!"- Damon now said.

Bonnie looked at Damon feeling a thousand butterflies disperse in her stomach, but her strong will now took over and she shot him down.
"It was just a kiss, can you just get over it??"

"So, you got over it?!"-Damon asked.

"What do you want from me, Damon??"- Bonnie's face now changed, there was hurt and desparation in her eyes-"in the fake world the only thing you wanted was to get back to Elena. But she didn't wait for you, and...ugh"- Bonnie now got out of the car walking away from it down the road.

Bamon was slightly gibsmacked by her reaction. He expected smartass comments from her, but not a vulnerable outburst" no matter how much he had pushed for it. He now got out of the car himself, swishing to Bonnie as if he made just a step.

"Bon"- he stopped her.
But she tried to avoid him and carry in walking. She hated herself for not being able to contain herself.

"Everything was different when I returned, and it had nothing to do with Elena erasing her memory of me. I changed. Elena and I were messed up before I ended up in the fake world. I admit, I didn't want to accept it. I had this crazy thing in my head that she is the one. But, she is not, Bonnie!!" -Damon shouted while watching Bonnie carrying on walking away from him. Then she stopped. Her heart stopped a beat as she heard the last words said and the way he accentuated her name.

"I can't!"- she said not turning around.

He was now standing still. Her words cut him like the sharpest knife.

Bonnie now turned around -
"I can't"-she said again -"I hate what I am feeling"

Damon just clenched with his teeth. He then disappeared in the night.

It was total breakdown.
