10. am i going to keep writing [this story]?

Yes!!

I've been getting a LOT of questions about whether I'm still updating Fireheart/Mostly Ghostly/Aftermath/Embers/whatever story people are asking about. The answer is YES!! Unless I've made an announcement, a chapter, AND put the word "discontinued" into a book's title, I am still updating it.

The only book I've discontinued thus far is Rupture. I am still updating all of my other stories. It's overwhelming to get so many questions about updates— it makes me feel rushed, like I need to update NOW in order to make my readers happy, or other things like that.

If a book was being discontinued, you would definitely know. I'm not one to just leave my readers hanging with no information as to what's happening with a book. I try my absolute hardest not to stop writing a certain book, but in the case of Rupture, it wasn't bringing me any joy and reader engagement had dropped significantly.

I want my OCs to have complete stories. I feel like they deserve it, and I would feel terrible just leaving their journeys unfinished. My characters are like my children and I'm incredibly proud of the plots I've come up with. Even if updates are slow, they are still coming!

So why do my updates take so long, then?

1. I'm in school. I am a university student in a STEM field, meaning I have a heavy and difficult course load. My education comes first and I will write around the times I have class, homework, or studying.

2. I have a job. Ya girl is a working woman. Every day, I either have work, school, or both. My job is very active and I can't just be sitting there on my phone, writing while on the clock.

3. It's mental illness luv. I struggle with anxiety, depression, and PTSD. Some days are harder than others and sometimes I get into funks where I'm not functioning properly. These times make writing (and doing anything creative) incredibly draining since it takes so much of my mental energy to complete a chapter.

4. I have a life. I think people forget that authors are people with lives outside of Wattpad. Though I'm on here often, it's not 24/7, and I have a personal life. I don't spend all of my time writing, planning my stories, editing chapters, etc. Sometimes I hang out with friends and family, go places, etc and am not working on my stories. This site isn't my entire existence.

Hopefully this has answered your questions!
