( ━ THERE HAD ONCE BEEN A TIME WHERE GYDA HAD BELIEVED HER FAMILY TO BE INVINCIBLE. A DESCENDANT OF GREAT warriors with lionheart courage and unmatched skills, Gyda was born to wield both sword and spear. The very nature of battle was inbedded in her bones, the effortless ways of swordsplay infused in her veins. There was no denying her strenght and young Gyda carried the warrior mantle with pride and respect. She thought it impossible to be bested ━ but it was not. A cruel fate had twisted her tale into a brutish nightmare when a new dawn had broken after the defeat of Sauron. Because on the plains of Mordor, where Gyda had found herself not without matched enemies, she had found herself not to be ready for the true calling of a war.

With the sacrifice of a father she believed to always trick death, Gyda learned the true meaning of war. Now there were only fragments of a broken sword that held the legacy of her forfathers. A oath passed by her lips, one not easily forsaken that would weigh on her shoulders like a mountain and the realisation that no, she was not invincible.

And upon her return to Nõldor, Gyda was a woman changed. No longer did she stand with the easy pride she once held, nor did her eyes spark as brightly as they did before. She matured from a naive joyful elfling without fear into a hard jawed, stern spoken elf that knew only of duty and promises not to be broken. The pretense of the unbeatable had cracked like glass and Gyda vowed to never make the same mistake again.

But even with the defeat of Sauron, darkness remains curled in the corners of the land, waiting, preying like starved animals with a hunger for blood. Gyda knows better now than to believe that darkness fades, knows better than to believe evil will disappear. It is the very reason why the recently widowed High-Queen sends her daughter alongside the recently oathbound guard to the city of Imladris. For the High-Queen hopes princess Elgarain can grow up without the dangers surrounding their Nõldorian borders. Hopes that the whimsical queen-to-be can obtain all the skills she needs to become the great ruler her late father had been.

Gyda however, learns quickly that while swordsplay had come as easily as breathing, taking care of a princess inclined not to take up her duties did not.

And then the one true rings appears once more, and Gyda, courageous Gyda, oathbound Gyda finds herself once more on a journey that leads to the plains of Mordor.

She can only hope not to make the same mistakes again
