Valerie glittered into the field and was greeted by a barrage of pained and panicked whinnies.
Silveny was lying on the ground surrounded by blankets and towels.

Stina Heks and her mom were there and Sophie sat near the birthing Alicorn's head.
Fitz and Keefe were trying to keep Greyfell at bay as he watched all the elves handle his mate.

Dex ran over and grabbed Valerie by the arm. He dragged her, not towards Silveny, but towards Greyfell. "We need you to calm him down."

Valerie stumbled along behind him. "Why not use a sedative?"

They stopped near where the boys stood in front of the aggravated Alicorn. "He's too agitated. We can't get close enough."

Valerie nodded. "Stand back." She pushed passed Keefe and Fitz.

All three boys took a few steps back.

Fitz went over to comfort Sophie while Dex and Keefe stayed close enough to help if something went wrong.

Valerie held out a hand towards the rearing horse, trying to connect with the panicked creature.

Greyfell neighed threateningly as Valerie drew closer.

She shushed him. "It's okay, Greyfell. Silveny will be okay. You just need to calm down."
It wasn't working. She took a deep breath and narrowed her eyes. "Come on. Calm down. Everything will be fine."

Greyfell tossed his head in disbelief, stamping his hoof on the ground. He looked ready to charge.

As he took the first steps, Valerie moved in front of him. "No!"

He skidded to a stop. Muscles straining he tried to move, but he couldn't.

Valerie took heaving breaths as she struggled to hold him. "Sleep."

Greyfell lay down and bowed his head, eyes closed. His breaths evened out and he drifted into unconsciousness.

Valerie stumbled back into Keefe's arms.
She tilted her head to look at him. "Thanks."

He smirked. "Anytime."

Dex stared at Greyfell. "That was awesome."

"Here it comes!" Vika Heks called from her place behind Silveny.

Soon, two tiny baby Alicorns lay in the grass.
Silveny nuzzled her new babies.

Unfortunately, the reunion was cut short.

Tarina, Sophie's trollish bodyguard appeared. Then, Sophie, Tarina, and the baby Alicorns disappeared.

Fitz explained that Sophie had a plan to use a trollish hive to save the baby Alicorns.

Valerie walked over to Greyfell and placed a hand on his snout. She closed her eyes and Greyfell slowly awoke. Immediately, the Alicorn trotted over to his mate and nuzzled her under the chin.

Valerie smiled as she watched the touching scene. She had to make things up with Grady. She couldn't take avoiding him anymore. It wouldn't get any easier. Pulling out a leaping crystal, she held it to the light and took one last look at the pair of Alicorns. Then, she glittered away.
