"Okay, that's the last of it"

My mom, who was currently fixing the boxes, wiped her sweat and exhaled with a relaxed smile.

We currently just arrived at our new hometown / city which is called Musutafu, like a few hours ago, since a new branch for my dad's hero agency recommend him to transfer because the head of the agency is interested in him.

I guess you could say that this is also counts as his fresh start after officially becoming a hero.

Why exactly?

Well, my dad used to be sidekick of a good friend of his back in high school, who is a hero back from where we used to live, and when his friend noticed that he improved a lot in his abilities, he encouraged him to become a full-fledged pro hero.

Anyways...

"Mom, let me help!", I said but when I looked around to see that the boxes for the living room is already unpacked and the items inside of it are already displayed at its proper places, "Eh, you're done?". 

My mom smiled at me and crouched down to my level before giving me a hug.

"Dear, it's okay", my mom said and kissed the top of my head, "I can handle it, don't worry". "

"B-But...I want to help", I said and pouted, "And daddy is not even here yet".

"I know", my mom said and hugged me before standing up, "He just texted me actually. He said he'll finish patrolling the city and be back by dinner so for now...". 

I watched my mom getting her bag from the couch and putting on a sunhat.

"Why don't we greet our next-door neighbors?", my mom suggested and giggled, "I'm sure one of them have kids who are about your age too! What do you think?". 

My eyes sparkled at the idea and automatically nodded.

"Yeah!", I said and jumped like a kangaroo, "Let's go, mom!". 

My mom giggled at my excitement and both of us prepared ourselves before heading outside the house and locked the gate.

"Oh hello there!"

My mom and I stopped when a brunette man with glasses waved at us with a kind smile on his face.

"Oh hello to you too! We're the (L/N) family!", my mom greeted our new neighbor, "We just moved here like an hour ago".

 "Yeah, I can tell. I saw your moving truck", the brunette man with glasses said and chuckled, "Welcome to your new hometown!".

"Thank you so much!", my mom said and bowed.

"Thank you for your kindness, mister!", I said and smiled before bowing down.

The brunette man with glasses chuckled once again and replied, "My, you have an adorable child, miss. If only our son is this kind and sweet...".

"Hmm, you have a son, sir?", my mom said as she went on with the conversation.

He sighed and nodded before replying, "Yes and he's our only child too. If you want little one, you can meet him. He's in the playground nearby with my wife".

"Really?", I said with an excited grin.

"E-Eh? You're willing to meet him-"

"Yes! Maybe he'll be my first friend if I asked him to play with me!", I interrupted and giggled.

Our next-door neighbor was shocked to hear my response and as innocent as I am, I have no idea why he's pulling that expression.

"M-My, such dedication...haha", the brunette man said and laughed nervously, "You raised a determined child, miss". 

"Yes, she actually got it from me, hahaha~!!", my mom said and laughed at her own comment, "Well, we'll get going now. I want my little (Y/N) to meet your son so she can someone to be her acquaintance at least".

After our exchanges with our neighbor, we both left the house and walked all the way to the playground. 

I just hope the son of that neighbor we just met is a nice boy.

...

We finally arrived at our destination and both of us decided to sit down at a nearby bench so at least I know where I can find my mom.

"Okay, you can go now. I'll just be here and study this recipe that I'll be cooking for dinner tonight", my mom said and patted my head.

I nodded and replied happily, "Okay, mom! See you in a bit!".

With that, I ran all the way to the playground and when I arrived, I saw a bunch of kids - wait, actually, boys about my age, who are chasing each other for fun.

'Oh, there! But which one of them is the son of our kind neighbor?', I thought and tilted my head, 'I should gain confidence! I need to try speaking to one of them at least!'.

I exhaled and decided to approach the boys who are still chasing each other.

"U-Uh, hello!", I said and gulped.

One of the boys stopped running and saw me at the distance but for some reason, one of them smirked.

"Oh hello, I never seen you here before", one of them said and decided to approach me, "Are you new here?".

I nodded and smiled before replying, "Yes! I just moved here an hour ago with my mom. What's your-Eh?".

I stopped talking when the boy who talked to me took away my All-Might action figure that I was holding the whole time and looked at it.

"Wow, this is a cool action figure! Is this the Silver Age edition?", the boy asked and grinned.

I nodded with a bit of happiness growing inside me knowing that this kid that I am talking to right now recognized the figure.

"Are you an All-Might fan too?!", I asked and smiled, "That's amazing! Can we be-"

"Can I keep it?"

I gasped and responded, "H-Huh? But t-that's mine, haha".

Suddenly, the other boys who are his playmates stopped and turned to our direction.

"Too bad~! I don't have this yet in my collection and since you have it, it's mine now!", the boy said and laughed while his playmates started laughing as well.

I can feel my eyes getting watery from this but I tried so hard not too by blinking a bunch of times.

'D-Don't cry, (Y/N)', I thought to myself, 'Just try to get it back from the boy and everything will be fine. Be strong...just like All-Might!'. 

I frowned and tried to get the figure back from the boy but I failed when he moved his hand away from me and started making a run for it.

"Too slow!!", the boy said and stick his tongue out.

"N-No! Come back here!!", I said and started following the boy.

Before I could start speeding up, I stopped when a blond boy and two boys, one wearing a cap and another who has red wings, who apparently just arrived at the perfect time and noticed what's going on.

"Oh, hey Bakugou! Check it out! I have a new figure now!", the boy who stole my figure said and showed it to guy who was named Bakugou.

"Huh? Isn't that the Silver Age edition?", the blond boy named Bakugou said and raised a brow.

"Uh huh! What do you think-"

"Hey!!"

I decided to interrupt them and tried to look confident right in front of them.

"That's my figurine!!", I said in a loud voice and gulped, trying not too cry.

"Your figurine? Heh, it's mine now!", the boy said and stick his tongue out once more, "Besides I don't think you deserve this".

'This boy. He's so-'

"Oi, give that back to her..."

Bakugou spoke up and now he's wearing an annoyed expression on his face.

"Huh? Dude, what are you doing?", the boy said and started laughing, "I can't believe you're actually defending a girl-"

The boy stopped talking when Bakugou punched the boy right in his face and that action made the boy stunned.

"What you're doing is stupid!", Bakugou said and started punching his fist together, making his quirk activate, "You weren't like this dude! I thought you want to be a strong hero like All-Might too someday! I thought you want to watch me become the next number 1 hero, huh?! What gives!".

'W-Wow, his quirk. It's so flashy!', I thought and wore a surprised expression.

The boy who he just punched started laughing and ended up standing up from the ground. 

"So this is how it ends, huh, Bakugou? I'm sorry but my vision has changed", the boy said and suddenly, he wore his game face on, "You'll regret this!".

With that, the boy started to go head to head against the blond boy and once he's close, the blond boy fought back. 

They started fighting using their quirks and I have to say that the blond boy is really giving everything he got.

After striking one hit after another, blond boy was able to hit the boy who stole my figurine.

He landed on the ground with the thud and dropped the figurine, which was inside his pocket the whole time while fighting and not to mention, it's still in one piece.

"Our friendship is over, loser", Bakugou said and glared at him.

"Dude, seriously? Over a girl-"

"Shut up and get out of my sight!", Bakugou retorted, "Or else these explosions will teach you a lesson again!". 

The boy gasped and tried stepping back with a few tears forming on his eyes.

When he turned to me, he glared and started to run towards me.

'E-EH?! I thought he's done here-'

"You!! You ended up showing him my true colors, how dare you!"

'O-Oh no!', I thought to myself, 'He's getting closer. I don't know what to do...I...I...'.

The blond boy noticed that the boy is charging on me and before he could react -

"S-Stay away!"

In that moment, I accidentally activated my quirk out of panic and ended up creating a forcefield that is already surrounding myself and when the boy lost control of his speed, he ended up bumping into the forcefield with a bit force and got deflected - making him bounce off and land on the ground.

'W-Wha...I sent him flying...using my forcefield', I thought as I opened my eyes to see what happen, 'I didn't know it could do that'.

"Woah...", one of friends of the boy who stole my figurine said and looked at each other, "Dude, let's get out of here! Forget Bakugou and that girl!".

With that, the group of mean boys started to retreat and run away somewhere where we can't see them.

I deactivated my quirk and tried to process what just happen but suddenly, someone approached me and tapped my shoulder.

"Oi, this is yours right?"

I gasped and turned to see Bakugou who tried to retrieve my figurine back from the boy thief. 

"Y-Yes, thank you!", I said and smiled at him, "I thought I wouldn't see this figure again, haha".

"Oh, I see. Geez, be careful next time, idiot", Bakugou said and sighed before presenting my figurine, "There are some boys here in this hometown who are stupid".

Idiot?

Nobody has called me that before.

"H-Hey, that's mean! I'm no idiot", I said and pouted.

"Well, you were so naive earlier so I can't help but call you that", Bakugou said and huffed, "Look just...be extra careful, alright? Take it from me who also lives here too".

His comment made me pout more but the last sentence wasn't so bad.

"I just didn't know what to do, alright? Nobody tried to steal my toys before so...", I said and retrieved the figurine from him, "Anyways...that was flashy quirk you got".

His eyes brighten and I can see a proud smile appearing on his face.

"I know right? I just got mine a few days ago during school the other day!", Bakugou said and activated his quirk again, "One day, I'm going to be the next number one hero just like All-Might!".

My eyes sparkled at his determination and I replied, "Wow, so you have a goal to set in the future then". 

He nodded and looked at me before saying, "Of course and your quirk just now...".

I tilted my head and I can see him crossing his arms while facing the other way.

"Not too shaby but not as good as mine, haha!", Bakugou said and laughed.

'Meanie...', I thought and pouted again.

"Still, I think it's kinda cool, I guess", Bakugou continued and finally looked at me, "Well, I better get going now. I need to-"

"W-Wait!"

He stopped turning his back and continued to face me.

"What is it?", Bakugou said and looked impatient. 

This boy may be a bit mean earlier but my mind is telling me that he's also nice too since he helped me get my figurine and even thinks that my quirk is cool too so-

"I'm (Y/N)(L/N)!", I said and smiled before showing him my hand, "I just moved here and...since you helped me earlier, I want to become your friend!".

Bakugou raised a brow and started thinking how is he going to respond to that.

"Bakugou...", the blond boy responded, "Bakugou Katsuki. If you want to be my friend, then...".

With that, he tapped my shoulder and started to run away from me with a playful grin.

"You have to catch me first on a game of tag, haha!"

I can feel myself laughing as well and with determination on my side, I started chasing after him.

"Hahahaha, you're on, Katsuki!!", I said and laughed before the two boys, who were with him the whole time, decided to join in too.

Our first interaction and meeting is only just the beginning.

I don't know where our relationship lies ahead as we continue communicating and being with each other but I really hope it will be a great one.
