Dying
Izuku Midoriya struggled to sit up. Blood caked his forehead and matted his hair. His hero suit, ripped and ragged, barely supported his skinny frame. My mom will kill me when she hears about this, if I make it out alive.
"Up again, Izuku?" Himiko Toga asked slyly, standing above him. She leaned down and studied him like a curious schoolgirl. "I guess you're stronger than I thought."
The greenhead coughed and blood sprayed from his lips. He wiped it off on his glove, his knuckles aching because they were raw. He wanted to cry for help, but he knew it would do him no good. Just a few miles from U.A., but, no one from U.A. would dare venture out here alone. Except me. Idiot, stupid Deku! You just had to go looking for trouble....now you'll die alone. All alone. He knew he would die. He knew just from the way everything became slower and magnified as the minutes dragged on. No All Might to save me, no Uraka or Kacchan or Todoroki-Kun.
"You've given up, then?" Toga asked, cocking her head. "Good. That way you won't wiggle so much when I kill you. Makes my job so much easier."
Then, it started to rain. Small drops of water fell onto his face, decorating it with dots from heaven. Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry. You're not alone, you're not! You can make it, Deku. You can do it! You can. Izuku couldn't even lift a finger. He knew these thoughts were his last resort, his final breaths taking him closer to death like a slow-moving train. Toga grinned like a cat and unsheathed one of her knives. "It's play time, Izuku. Are you ready?"
Izuku clenched his teeth and prepared himself. It's all over, but at least it will all be over soon. I wonder if I've been good enough for heaven.
Suddenly, a blinding flash and heat wave set the whole forest aglow.
Toga screamed and dropped her knife. She covered her face and wailed in agony.
And just before he could think pass out, he could have sworn he could hear searing curses and the word Deku, before everything went black.
